The Brand New Ford Mustang GT.

If you happen to think that your Ford GT Mustang is a little boring, look no further.  After seeing these photos provided by Autoblog we were pretty much cleaning up our own drool. Reifen Koch slaps the car with a facelift using the Cervini body kits which leaves the Mustang looking amazing. The “Konquistador” package also includes a side-exit exhaust system, a full KW coilover kit and a hydraulic axle-lift system. Check out the whole press release at Autoblog if you’d like, if not enjoy the photos below.  I just want to know what my homie Yum Yum thinks of this…

Michael Bay’s ‘Ninja Turtles’.

At the annual Nickelodeon upfront presentation recently, über-producer Michael Bay revealed details for Platinum Dunes’ upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, including a new origin story for the half-shell heroes that is sure to raise the ire of diehard fans.

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie,” said Bay as he took the stage to discuss his new vision for the reptilian reboot. “These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable.”

In the original mythology, four baby turtles fall into the sewer and come into contact with glowing radioactive ooze, which mutates them into four bad-ass warriors trained in ninjutsu by astute rodent Splinter. But could the rewriting of the Turtles’ origin story dissuade some fans from embracing the newest incarnation? A comic book-to-movie adaptation’s worst nightmare is bad pre-publicity, and Bay may have generated that in about 30 words.

On the flip side, it might seem outrageous to non-fans of the series that Teenage Mutant Ninja purists are offended by the new mythos of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Truth, we might sound a wee bit ridiculous when we cry out, “I can’t believe Bay says they’re aliens when they’re obviously derived from radioactive slime!” But Bay is essentially erasing almost 30 years of love for transmogrified adolescent reptile ninjas by claiming each turtle is less of a fearsome, fighting toxic anomaly and more of a forest green E.T. with nunchucks. What would Shredder think!?

PopWatchers, how does this new origin story make you feel? Are you a purist for the original backstory, or will you embrace Bay’s vision? And who would you cast for this live-action TMNT reboot? Personally, I think Splinter’s a toss-up between Morgan Freeman and Kate Upton.

Movie Marathoning (Batman vs. The Avengers).

With The Dark Knight Rises one of the most anticipated films of the summer, CraveOnline decided to make Batman the focus of their latest Movie Marathoners, tackling eight different Bat-films back to back.  Beginning with 1966′s Batman: The Movie, an audience of over 30 made their way through Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, Batman Returns, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins and, finally, The Dark Knight.  Take a look at the rating at the end of the video and see if you agree.

Hendrix Studios, Santa Clara, CA.

Every so often I’m fortunate enough to be presented with a great business opportunity that allows me to help others as well.  I was introduced to Hendrix Studio’s by producer Clayton Williams, and have been obsessed with the facility ever since.  Below is a video tour of the studio.  If you’ve got any interest in getting any work laid down at Hendrix, don’t be afraid to hit me up.

The Perfect Zombie Proof House.

My good friend Carlos C. and I have a deep routed affinity for the AMC show “The Walking Dead”, and after watching the very intense season 2 finale, I stumbled across something interesting.  Situated deep within the Adirondack State Park in Upstate New York, this cabin was built atop a cold-war era missile silo and is currently on the market for only $1.75 million dollars. It’s basically perfect for surviving any sort of end of the world scenario… inlcuding zombies.

As the pictures progress, you are seeing deeper and deeper into the house’s structure.

Carlos, lets go halves on this spot… Just incase.

The Hangover III.

Consider the competition slate for the Cannes Film Festival officially scrambled. Or, you know, maybe not: on Thursday, Warner Brothers announced that it was preparing a third installment in the “Hangover” series, its bawdy, billion-dollar grossing comedy franchise about three friends whose travels invariably result in collective memory loss followed by farcical efforts to retrace their troublemaking steps.

Warner Brothers said in a news release that the series stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis would reprise their roles as the three friends, Phil, Stu and Alan, in “The Hangover Part III,” which is planned for release on May 24, 2013. Todd Phillips, who directed the two previous films, is once again on board as director. He will also produce “Part III” and write the script with Craig Mazin, his screenwriting collaborator on “Part II.”

The original “Hangover,” released in 2009, set its characters loose on Las Vegas and sold more than $467 million in tickets worldwide. The 2011 sequel, set in Bangkok, was even more lucrative and grossed a further $581 million globally, but took lumps from critics who called it a retread of the first film.

No setting or plot description for “Part III” was immediately offered, but Mr. Phillips said in a statement: “We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”

SweetSkinz – Reflective Bike Tires.

When it comes to cycling, combining safety with style is not always easy. However, these new bicycle tires from Sweetskinz merge the two effortlessly. Sweetskinz is a range of nocturnal tires which are light reflective at night.  Unlike many reflective add-on features, the entire rubber tire itself is reflective. With urban edge, graffiti inspired patterns such as the fiery ‘Scorch’ and the snake like ‘Rattleback’, riders can be seen at night in style.

Electro Ambiance.

Here’s something rather spectacular. A very simple concept when it comes down to it, a rather long explanation if you’d like to take the time to understand the intricacy. What you’ve got here is a project called Inconspicuous Matter, a project involving electro reactive wallpaper. What does that mean in a nutshell? Wallpaper that LIGHTS UP.

In an effort to visualize electrical energy flows, this project shows just that through responsive materials set up to be fabulous ambient displays, reacting to energy blasted through their veins, reacting with fabulous colors galore! This project takes material design and uses it to demand users attention (quite well I’d imagine) generating in them awareness. Awareness of what, you might ask? Well first the magical innovation displayed in this project, of course, look it’s amazing. Then in the actual visual flow or energy that’d otherwise be invisible. Feel free to read these paragraphs that act as a sort of manifesto behind this project, then take a peek at the gallery and video presentation below:

Design Rationale

Can the visualization of electrical energy flows lead to textile and material innovation?

Energy is an invisible and yet incredibly valuable resource. The ways in which we consume energy, and the amount that we use, is highly unsustainable and industries are now dealing with issues surrounding energy overconsumption, origins and uses. It is important that we consider not only how we are using energy, but also where it comes from. In a world driven by innovation but struggling with sustainable concerns, the emergence of research and applications available in clean energy resources is significant, but the use of it is still not really spread from industries to individuals. Moreover, considerable development of new energy resources or technologies to noticeably increase their production and uses would take several decades.1

In the domestic environment, electricity is the first named energy manifestation. However, hidden within the design of unappealing appliances and mechanisms that minimize energy’s real importance and significance, electrical energy access is, for most people, taken for granted. Moreover, because the current market in electronic / electric appliances for domestic environment promises convenience and comfort aplenty, saving energy is still seen as something negative that make everyday life less comfortable.

Sexting Tip For The 21st Century.

When it comes to “sexting,” there is a fine line between fun and filthy, phone-play and phone porn. Done right, however, sexting between two consenting adults can be a great thing. A press of a button or a stroke of a touchpad and you get instant sexual tension (which will hopefully lead to other kinds of touching later on).

It “can definitely spice up your sex life,” says “Texpert” Shawn Marie Edginton, author of Read Between the Lines: A Humorous Guide to Texting with Simplicity and Style. “A good sext is worth a thousand words… without all the talking.”

Just use common sense (especially if running for political office) and let the fun begin!

Only sext those with whom you share a committed, trusting, adult relationship.
“Otherwise bad breakups can leave your ‘personals’ exposed for everyone to see on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc…,” warns Edginton. “Inappropriate correspondence between the two parties seems to always make its way into the wrong hands.”   In other words, it may seem like harmless fun but do not sext your boss, a one-night stand, a guy with a wife or girlfriend or anyone who isn’t really yours or available to you.

S

Erase Sexts Regularly

You don’t know panic until the day you lose your phone and realize that you had an entire gallery of sexts and racy photos on there. Make it a habit to routinely clean up your cell (it’s sort of the equivalent of washing your mouth out with soap). If you don’t want to lose some sexts because they turn you on, forward them to yourself via email and keep them in a locked or hidden file/document on your personal computer for future viewing.

S

Keep It Personal

This one may also seem obvious but it’s worth repeating. “Your company owns the content and has the right to review what’s been sent using company property,” says Edginton. So unless you want your boss knowing your sexual fantasies, it’s best to keep your sexting limited to your own private cell. . Also, “If you don’t want bystanders to get an eyeful, change your phone settings so you don’t accidentally expose more than you want to.” warns Edgington. Disable automatic pop-ups or “previews” of texts on your personal phones anytime you’re in a sexting relationship.

S

Check the Number

“Double check to make sure you’re sending your message to the correct recipient,” says Edginton. “Nothing worse than sending a sext to a coworker by accident.” Or your mom…

S

Test the Water

If you sext something too hot, too fast… you might get tech burned. If you’re thinking of diving into the sexting realm, a simple “Hey! So, what are you wearing?” or “Hey good lookin’ — I’m sitting here thinking about how hot you make me” can indicate your intentions subtly and save you from embarrassment (i.e. if he doesn’t respond in kind, you can always pass it off as a joke).

S

Be a “Lady”

Sexting can be a fun way to push the envelope a bit with your relationship, but if you cross the line into gross, there is no pretending that it was auto-fill’s fault. “Sending sleazy or obscene texts will only leave you lonely and sextually frustrated,” says Edgington. “No one appreciates receiving messages that are raunchy or disgusting.”

S

Time It

This one is for the women… If you want to turn him on, don’t send your sext when you know he’ll be preoccupied (i.e. while he’s out with the guys at a baseball game — he’ll either think you’re acting desperate or share it with his posse…neither of which you want). Really hot times to sext? How about at a party when you know you can’t really sneak away. You can drive him crazy by sending him hot messages about what you’re thinking (i.e. “Your ass looks so hot in those pants I want to rip them off and have my way with you”), what you plan to do to him later (i.e. “As soon as we get out of here, I’m going to lick your neck and who knows what else in the cab home”), or what you’d like him to do to you (i.e. “I am quivering at the thought of you touching me in naughty places later”). Remember, this is about building sexual tension…and timing is everything.

S

Use Innuendo

Part of the thrill of sexting is the buildup. But even that should be in good taste. In other words, think more “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” and not “I’d like to dip you in cheese whiz and spread you on my cracker.”

S

Be Mysterious

“Fun with the camera phone” is great (especially since men are visual creatures). But if you’re snapping sexy pics, do yourself a favor and eliminate your face in images that include nudity. “This might be how Brett Favre doesn’t get caught with his pants down,” says Edgington. “Plus, you don’t have to take it all off- be sexy and leave them guessing.”

S

Let Them Know They Turn You On

Girls and guys alike want to know you’re hot for them. Try a simple “Thoughts of being naked again with you as soon as possible are seriously making me nuts over here” or “I just don’t know what you do to me and my body, but I like it and I want more… immediately.” Showing off a little bit of your feeling will definitely get the receiver’s creative juices flowing.

S

Practice

Sexting is an art. And the more you do it, the better you’ll get at it (just like sex itself…practice helps the two of you find your rhythm). Try reading some passages from romance novels and rewording them in ways that tell the intended recipient what you’d like to have done to you. This form of play-giarism is totally fine.

S

Get It On.

Sexting is a tool to use in addition to (not in place of) an in-person relationship “Watch the warning signs that you may be sliding into an unhealthy relationship with technology,” says Edgington, which include sexting 24/7 and ignoring the face-to-face relationship or sexting that interferes with work and other commitments. Keep communication balanced. “Remember, communication is almost always better when it’s face-to-face or by telephone where you can hear the tone and pick up the vibration of what this person is feeling towards you,” says Edgington. In other words, sexting is supposed to be the warm-up… for the fun things yet to come in person.

S

Women Can Initiate

Girls, at a loss of where to begin? Try these naughty touchpad strokes and you’ll find yourself in a sexting frenzy: “I had to get out a ‘toy’ last night thinking about you. Bet you would have liked to watch.” (Men love the idea of a woman pleasuring herself…especially while thinking about them). “I went to Victoria’s Secret today. Wouldn’t you love to know what I bought?” (Of course he would). “I seem to be having a problem getting out of my bra. You are really good at unhooking it…any suggestions?” (Men want to think they possess skills and also like the idea of you being in a state of partial dress while texting them). “Wow, it’s so cold in here… my _______ are so hard. Could you find a way to beam here pronto and warm me up?” (Teasing is good. So is letting a guy know you’re aroused). “You know, you are trouble. I’m not usually this naughty.” (Men want to think they possess some special sexual power over you that no other man has ever had. Be ready to back this one up with naughty thoughts).

Futuristic Foosball.

Remember when Joey and Chandler from Friends started a foosball craze in the 90s? This new product could well mark a revival of the game and attract a league of new players and also be a hit with those who are already passionate about a bit of table football with the gang.  ’11′ is a new table designed by GRO design and developed by TIM model makers. It was due to be exhibited for the first time at Milan Design Week a while back.  The thought behind the design was to reflect the many football stadiums built in recent years that are architecturally stunning, have become landmarks and represent the spirit and passion of the game. If the stadiums are becoming so spectacular, then why shouldn’t the foosball tables?

The Hublot Morphosis Safe.

Safe maker Doettling paired with Hublot to create this cylindrical steel with lacquered semi-matte Hublot black panel inner tube safe for the ultimate watch collector.  Weighing around 180 kilograms the cylindrical safe sports an inner tube that turns inside of the outer shell, with two set of winders that can hold up to 42 watches.  The top end of the cabinet houses an iPad dock. The connected iPad works as the input method. Users must enter a pass code to reveal the first set of watches.  The user must then enter a second security code to access the second set of timepieces. The iPad can also control other features such as the speed of the watch rotations, the direction of the spins, and total number of spins per day.  The price runs $US204,664 for each cabinet.

The Phantom Storm Movement – Infinite Climb.

The Project X podcast series was an amazing idea, sparked by an amazing movie, shut down by an amazingly stupid group of kids from Texas.  After a shooting at a party inspired by the movie, advice was taken to change the name to decrease association with an incident neither myself nor Jeff Phantom were involved with.  However, we’re still making podcasts, filled with new music for the people.  After a 3 week hiatus, I returned to the podcast tables and got back with Jeff to help produce “Infinite Climb”.  Chocked full of House, Electro, Mashups, ‘Infinite Climb’ is for sure a recording to replay.  And please don’t mind the Kelly Clarkson in the intro, we were just having fun with the fact that I’d been gone for three weeks.  Check the method.

A.Mo’s Most Influential.

Click the pic to hear more.

A.Mo, a.k.a. ‘A to the Miggiday’, a.k.a. ‘A.Mo Swaveonte’ has taken his skills to a new project.  The ‘Most Influential’ mixtape comes soon after the release of the ‘Road To Success’ album, but is an entirely different set of music entirely.  The tape is slated to be an experiment of sorts, to see just how much influence A.Mo currently has over the Hop Hop community, and displays his lyrical prowess over beats new, original, and old.  Click the pic above to check out the mixtape on DatPiff.com.

The Most Amazing Video Of Bruce Lee… Playing Ping Pong.

Normally all my posts come along with some formal explanation, some details, or some type of witty comment.  This time around, just watch the REAL video below.  Bruce Lee will for ever be the man.  Nuff said.

The Breathing Earth.

As odd as it sounds, this post has been a dream of mine for a very long time.  When I was about 5 or 6, I remember asking my father how many people were on the planet, and he said to me, “It’s impossible to be exact, the number is constantly changing.”  After that, I remember just wondering what it would be like to see, in the simplest form an exact count of how many people there were on Earth, and just how quickly that number would change in front of my eyes.  The site Breathing Earth does just that, with a little more precision.  One the page, you can see (not in real time, but by statistical estimation) how many people are born and die in each country all across the globe.  Check the method by clicking the picture above.

Joe Budden’s Mystery Collaboration Revealed.

The Hip Hop game is riddled with masterful collaborations, and combos that the would would never expect until they actually come true.  Recently Joe Buddens linked up with an emcee that is one of the games greatest, and a few folks got together at the Irving Plaza to get a sneak peak of the track.  Be warned though, the video is a bit shaky, and the split second the audience finds out who the secret collaborator is… the video cuts out.

Toni Burnett & Danielle Lo.

At a certain age, boys start to do things like sneak peeks at lingerie catalogs, and hunt down old playboy magazines just to get a glimpse of women in a way they’ve never seen before.  This child-like fascination goes away with time, (and experience) but I’ve found two models who seem to have brought it back for me.  The first, Toni Burnett (above), is of Guynese heritage and currently resides in the Washington D.C. area.  Although her work is simply stunning, and she seems to capture the camera in a way that not many models can, her true strength comes from her business savvy.  Being a strong woman of color definitely ads to the repertoire that makes Ms. Burnett fascinating and unique.  Hailing from an entirely different set of regions is Ms. Danielle Lo (below).  German, Irish, English, Chinese, and Austrian is quite a potent mix for such a diversified model.  Danielle has been modeling for over 6 years, and has traveled to more places than a Geography teacher can point out on a map.  Her photos always reflect an uncanny knowledge, and total love of what she does.  Ms. Lo’s winning personality and love of just making the people around her happy, reinforce her own personal motto:  “Looks may draw a person in, but it’s your wit and charm that will keep them around”

The Aurora Swarovski LED Dress by CuteCircuit.

Check The Live Team Backpack Show.

Team Backpack has become a driving force in Bay Area Hip Hop in the last year, and shows no signs of slowing down.  Anyone in the Bay who has real talent and the drive for Hip Hop has been featured on Team Backpack, and when I say anyone, I mean that looks, style, and race don’t matter.  All that comes through Team Backpack is pure lyrical skill, and that makes it one of the purest displays of Hip Hop out there.  Period.  If you haven’t seen any of the Team Backpack videos, check one out below, and if you’re in the Bay, take the time to come down to the concert on the 31st.

The Random Sketchings Of Wesley Burt.

While writing this blog, there’s nothing more frustrating than seeing amazing artwork, and not finding out all the information about the person who created it.  These awesome sketch pieces come from Wesley Burt.  His work is incredibly detailed, and wildly imaginative, but all I was about to gather is that he’s based out of my current city of San Francisco.  Check the method.

The History Of College.

People have sought out higher learning since circa 800 A.D. But that’s about the only thing that has remained the same. From who is enrolling to which degree programs are offered to where the best degree programs are located, education has vastly changed. The infographic below showcases many of those changes. Degrees titles have evolved from “Master” to “Doctor.” The degrees themselves have gone from those focusing on “rhetoric” to focusing on “computer science.” More women now enroll and graduate than men. People no longer even need to “go” to college as online education becomes more readily available from accredited universities such as American Intercontinental University. Educational options in this modern era are nearly limitless.

Rihanna, Busta Rhymes & Reek Da Villain – Birthday Cake (Remix).

Since his Busta Rhymes merge into the YMCMB fold, he’s been putting out banger after banger.  His newest collab with Reek Da Villain is on the ever growing “Birthday Cake” track from Rihanna.  Considering how much of a stir the version with Chris Brown made, I’m not sure if this cut will be more refreshing to people’s ears, or if folks will stick to what’s already on the radio.
