The cast of Scary Movie 6 grabbed plenty of attention in Times Square by taking part in a fun “hotbox” stunt inside a giant glass box. The event took place at Father Duffy Square in New York City on June 1. Cast members Anna Faris, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans were joined by the movie’s spoof version of Ghostface as fans watched from outside while smoke filled the box.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Marlon explained that the Wayans brothers have always focused on packing their movies with as many jokes as possible. He said whether it’s White Chicks or Little Man, their goal is to keep audiences laughing throughout almost the entire movie, with just a small amount of heart mixed in. Faris, who is returning to the franchise for the first time since Scary Movie 4, told Extra that coming back has been surprisingly emotional for her. She said she never expected to connect Scary Movie with feelings and nostalgia.
She also reflected on how the Wayans family stepped away from the franchise after Scary Movie 2 while she continued with later installments. Faris said she never had the chance to properly thank Keenen Ivory Wayans for the opportunity, something that had bothered her for years. Returning for the new movie finally gave her that chance.
