Batman v. Superman Took Some Serious Work.

batman_1

Say what you will about Batman v Superman (and let’s face it, there’s a lot that can be said), but the visuals were amazing. Some were better than others obviously because Doomsday certainly didn’t look that great, but this new VFX reel from Scanline VFX puts the spotlight on how they enhanced this world and created many of the locations most of us probably just assumed were actual places and sets.  The visuals in Snyder’s movies are always pretty distinctive, but this video really emphasises just how different he made our world look to help create the DC Films Universe. Of course, the huge amount of special effects shots no doubt played a big role in why Batman v Superman’s budget was so massive, something which has resulted in its impressive box office haul being considered “disappointing.”  Anyway, watch the VFX reel below and then let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

To the closer followers of Marvel, and the mechanics behind their super hero films, Christmas came early last night when Marvel released a short “documentary” about Avengers Infinity War.  The video is quite informative, and gives the laymen some news they will be excited about, and the comic book connoisseur some things to be excited about.  (Why doesn’t Thor have his Hammer, and are Tony’s new suits automated, or is building them for himself.)  Regardless of how deep movie goers get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the video below provides a very interesting look into the 3rd Avengers installment.

Blog favorite C.I. Bang has dropped the visuals for his new collaboration with Willie Joe titled ‘Run My City’.  This bass heavy Bay Area classic shows what Bang is capable of along side the right producers, and his whole hood is along side him in the video.  Bang’s energy and lyrical prowess paired with a verse from Bay legend Willie Joe make “Run My City” one for constant rotation.  Check the JaRon McReynolds directed video below.

Earlier this afternoon, at the Playstation Experience, Marvel Entertainment & Capcom officially announced the long-awaited fourth chapter in their long-running Marvel vs. Capcom fighting game series, titled Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.  The ‘Marvel vs. Capcom’ series has led to MANY a dorm room scuffle in my day, but I’m glad that 10 years after the last outting, the franchise has returned.

The game is still in development at the moment, but it is expected to be available worldwide on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC late 2017. Details on the lineup of playable characters and storyline weren’t provided, but the brief teaser provides a look at Captain Marvel & Iron Man facing off with Ryu and Mega Man X. We also catch a look at a mysterious figure – that looks a lot like Ultron – sitting in the dark.

Although the exhibit may be far from new, Alexander McQueen’s 2011 ‘Savage Beauty’ collection still continues to amaze.  This exhibition was the first and largest retrospective of McQueen’s work to be presented in Europe, and has some of the unique pieces on the planet.  Check the method.

Dave Chappelle x The Walking Dead.

Dave Chappelle returned to television after a considerable absence to host Saturday Night Live this weekend.  The comedian and once king of Comedy Central delivered a hefty batch of President Trump jokes and sketches but was asked leading up to the show whether or not he would bring any of his Chappelle’s Show characters to the show. He says he originally wasn’t planning on it but recently saw an episode of The Walking Dead which inspired him to bring them to NBC.  What ensued was maybe one of the greatest 5 minutes sketches of all time, done in true Chapelle Show fashion.  Check the method.
