Lordson J vs. Times Square.


DSC_0192So over the years there have been a plethora of women showcased on this site for their looks, and I’ve gotten email after email from female subscribers about featuring male models.  I was never really sure how to approach it, until I saw a billboard featuring a very good friend of mine in Times Square briefly.  It turns out that Avera Inc. is have a competition fueled by votes to see who’s photo gets a semi-permanent spot in the center of the Big Apple, and I felt like it’d be the perfect time to satisfy female viewers by having them vote for the first male model featured on this site.  Lordson J has many more things in the works, and if the ladies put in their ‘likes’ on the Avera site, we’ll be sure to feature him more often.  Click any of the pics to see more.DSC_0061deep

The 10 most Instagrammed places of 2012


Suvarnabhumi-International-Airport

Instagram, the photo-sharing app, has released a list of the most photographed places in the world via the app in 2012, with Suvarnabhumi Airport topping the chart.According to IG, over 100,000 photos were taken via Instagram at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, over the last year, making it a surprise winner.Interestingly another Bangkok landmark, the Siam Paragon shopping mall, took second place in Instagram’s most photographed places in 2012

Overall, locations in the US were popular among Instagram users, with American landmarks occupying seven of the top ten locations, including five in Southern California. Strangely enough, landmarks that have been a traditional favorite for photographers such as the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin or London’s Big Ben did not appear on the list, though Paris’s Eiffel Tower did make an appearance in eighth place — behind Dodger Stadium and LAX.

The HITGallery, Hong Kong

The cool, clean, minimalist interior of the brand-new 100 square-meter retail store, the HITGallery, in the Times Square shopping center in Hong Kong. The elegantly retro store, designed by the talented Milan-based architect and designer, Fabio Novembre, is the first iteration of a new global multi-brand retail concept of the Pettoranello-based fashion house, Ittierre S.p.A. Ittierre holds the licenses, manufacturers and markets several brands, including Aquascutum, C’n’C Costume National, Galliano, GF Ferré, Fiorucci, Karl Lagerfeld Paris, Pierre Balmain and Tommy Hilfiger Collection. The latest brand to sign with Ittierre is Jean Paul Gaultier, with his men’s collection launching in Fall/Winter 2013-14.

The HITGallery boutiques, slated to open around the globe, features several, if not all, of the lines Ittiere represents. The next store in line will be the Milan flagship but in the meanwhile, Ittierre has just opened a 1,000-square-meter temporary store, IT’S 30 MANZONI, at Palazzo Scotti Gallarati in Milan’s luxury neighborhood. In a media release, Fabio Novembre is quoted as saying that The HITGallery stores capture the essence and spirit of Italy by, for example, taking inspiration from the surreal atmospheres of the artist Giorgio De Chirico.

Day And Night.


A fine art project Stephen Wilkes has produced about New York in the beautiful patches of day and night. “Day to Night embodies a combination of my favorite things to photograph; people on the street melded with epic cityscapes, and the fleeting moments throughout the day and night,” noted the author. Well, we should admit that these exceptionally well done photographs add a surreal dimension to various iconic New York places. To split the landscapes from AM to PM and create such a surrealist effect, Stephen kept his camera at a fixed angle for up to 15 hours, then weaved and blended the shots into one frame. Let’s now contemplate all the bustle of the city within these breathtaking shots. Hope, those of you who have never been to NY will have the time to make it up to see this in person.
