The 3rd, (and seemly final outing in the Venom “sub-franchise”) has been given its first trailer. Whether the contract for this much beloved character is up, or they ran out of stories, this seems to be it for this version of Venom. (There’s some sort of symbiotic substance scurrying over Marvel’s Spider-Man counter tops) but there is a bit more head-biting off left for this iteration. The comedy part seems to be a bit thinner than the last two outings of the series, yet it looks exciting of fans. This spin around he’s allowed to eat criminals, which reinforces this anti-hero thing. There are also some exciting new additions to the cast, plus the fish out of water aspect that comes with a “non-city” environment is a nice change. You even get a glimpse at what happens to Tom Hardy’s Venom submerged in water for the first time… not to mention Venom taking over animals, not just other humans. And obviously due to the multiverse, this sage hasn’t necessarily reached it end even though Tom Hardy’s contract with Sony may soon be.
