Red Notice (Final Trailer).

When it comes to “buddy cop” team ups, there have been many iconic combinations throughout time. ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, ‘Rush Hour’ and ‘Bad Boys’ are three that we had to put on a list or else people would riot, but there are endless more. ‘Red Notice’ how ever has a unique task of putting 3 pop culture icons into the same film, and creating new characters from them. Dwayne Johnson, leads the film as a disgraced super cop, that has to clear his name… just like in ‘Hobbs and Shaw’. Ryan Reynolds is a quirky, smart mouthed who is highly skilled, and is just trying to do his job… just like in ‘The Body Guards Wife’. Finally Gal Gadot is an intelligent, masterful thief who uses her looks as well as her talent to get the job done without getting caught… just like her role in the ‘Furious 7’. SO, hopefully all these alumni of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise (YES Ryan Reynolds was in Hobbs & Shaw, making him part of the “Fast Saga” as well.) can take rolls that they have fit into int the past, and hopefully create something memorable and new. The film is being released on Netflix only, but here to a big release, and even bigger numbers. Take a look at the final trailer below.

The Official (Live Action) ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Netflix Trailer.

Between Dave Chappelle’s ground breaking specials, ‘Squid Games’, and Australia’s ‘Why Are You Like This’, Netflix’s stock just keeps going up. This treasure trove of new content is only getting more interesting, especially with the addition of a live action rendition of ‘Cowboy Bebop’. There have been endless attempts at bringing Japans’ most popular anime shows or movies to live action with some blockbusters like ‘DragonBall’, ‘Alita: Battle Angel’, ‘Ghost In The Shell’, ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’, and ‘Speed Racer’. (Remember all of those well loved, wonderfully reviewed classics?). But in what seems to be the beginnings of a turn-around for Anime to live-action misadventures, ‘Cowboy Bebop’ seems to be an honest attempt at making this transition right. When taking a look at the first trailer for this experiment below, you can’t help but think to yourself… “This one actually looks pretty good.”

Who You Gonna Call?

Sony Pictures has released an international trailer for “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, and while a few shots are recycled from previous promos, this teaser comprised almost entirely of new footage. When the review embargo lifted last week, many critics took issue with how much Afterlife relied on fan-service and revisiting well-known scenarios from the original movies, and the marketing team appears to have taken this on board… by dialling the nostalgia all the way up to 11 for this new trailer. We hear an updated version of the classic theme as our young heroes chase spooks in the Ecto-1, there are several mentions of Egon (the late Harold Ramis), and the return of one of the first film’s Terror Dogs. In fact, right at the end we get a recreation of the scene in which Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) discovers one of the preternatural pooches in his closet. While this will likely prove to be divisive, we have a feeling a lot of Ghostbusters fans are going to lap it up.

The NOT Trailer For Black Adam!

As many people may already know, there still is no trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s passion project “Black Adam”, HOWEVER, thanks to DC’s Fandome exhibition, The Rock was able to display a featurette.  This movie has been in a years long fight through the workings of Hollywood, and now is finally wrapping up its production.  In a cross section of some of the scenes shown off you can hear them say Shazam’s name, and while we’re not entirely sure what exactly they have to do with one another, Its widely known that Black Adam is a Shazam villain. One of the Hodge brothers is in the film which is never a bad thing for any film, but now that we’ve gotten a peak at just a hair of a hind of the finished product, we’re sure this is just driving fans that can’t wait to see an actual first trailer… much less the finished film.

Caity Costa – Cleanse

Caity Costa has returned with her 2nd single off “The Butterly EP”. Heavy hitting bass is an unexpected yet welcome backdrop to Costa’s soft singing with gentle Melodie’s and soothing harmonies.  The songs content is geared towards finding a new beginning after dirtier times.  Which can lend itself to an innumerable number of situations we all face either day to day or over time.  The overall positive and uplifting tone of the song is reason enough to give it a listen, but as her collection of releases grows, “Cleanse” is a track that will resonate with anyone, but most of all with those who need to hear something uplifting. Watch below for just a quick preview, and click the cover above to stream.

The Old New No Way Home?

By now, many to most of the people who see stuff here have already witnessed the awesomeness that is the first ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ trailer. Dr. Strange makes much more than a cameo, but seems to be a full fledged protagonist although it’s a Spiderman story. Dr. Strange isn’t a stranger to (sorry, we couldn’t find a way around that one) to Peter Parker and his alter ego in the source material as we can see by a re-worked 90’s trailer. The 90’s Spiderman cartoon show is edited and married spectacularly over the audio of the first “No Way Home” trailer. They would be hard pressed to find, but if there’s anyone who hasn’t seen the original trailer, show them this one first before presenting the live action MCU version, just to see what they think. Either which way, enjoy.

Time To Enroll In Your ‘Deadly-Class’.

Deadly Class fans were treated to a hell of a surprise when the first episode of the TV adaptation went online this morning. SyFy is currently hosting the pilot for free via its YouTube channel to get viewers pumped up for the series’ actual premier on January 16th. The pilot introduces audiences to Marcus, a homeless teenager in 1980s America who gets recruited by a school for the next generation of deadly assassins. It’s a chaotic, action-packed, fever dream of a show complete with a punk rock soundtrack and aesthetics.  For those of you who would rather be surprised, do not watch the hour long video below, however, if you won’t mind the wait, then by all means, enjoy this incredible first episode to what will hopefully be an amazing first season to a great, fresh show.

Don’t Get Stung By The ‘Bee’.

Bumblebee is a prequel story set in the ’80s, which gave Paramount and director Travis Knight the freedom to reintroduce several well-knownTransformers characters sporting classic G1 designs – something old-school fans were very happy to see.  The most recent trailer for the spin-off gave us a few teasing glimpses of Optimus Prime looking a lot more like the original interpretation of the Autobot leader than he did in Michael Bay’s movies, and now we can get a much better idea of his final design thanks to this “Generation 1” featurette and the new image featured above.  The video also includes interviews with Knight, as well as stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena. Check it out below and let us know if you’re looking forward to Bumblebee in the comments.

A Strange Thing Is Coming Back To Netflix…

There’s only so much to take away from the titles themselves, but it certainly sounds like the Starcourt Mall will come into play as a major setting for the upcoming season. The new location was featured in the very first teaser for Stranger Things Season 3, which also featured Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) working at an ice-cream store alongside series newcomer Robin (Maya Hawke).  Unfortunately, Netflix didn’t reveal a specific premiere date, only teasing that Stranger Things will return to the streaming service in 2019.

Dumbo… Again.

We’ve heard the news of the new live action ‘Lion King’ cast, and (some of us) have seen the new trailer for the new reimagining of Aladdin, but here was have a new look at yet another remake of an animated Disney “Classic”. The full trailer for Disney and director Tim Burton’s live-action remake of Dumbo debuted during the Country Music Association Awards tonight, and while this adaptation does appear to be taking a few liberties with the original story, it certainly seems to have captured the spirit of the beloved animated classic.  The movie follows a former circus star (Colin Farrell) who’s life is turned upside down when he returns home from the war. When he rejoins a troupe led by Max Medici (Danny DeVito), he becomes the carer of a newborn elephant who is the laughing stock of the circus because of his enormous ears.  When word gets out that Dumbo can fly, V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) visits the circus, determined to exploit the little elephant’s magical ability for his own gain.  Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the usual place.

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Get Your First Look.

Ant-Man was a fun movie but the sequel looks waaaay better. Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp today and it gives us our first look at what to expect from the movie. There’s no mention of Janet Van Dyne here but we do get plenty of other big reveals, including a sneak peek at The Ghost, details on what happened to Scott Lang after Captain America: Civil War and more.

Even more interesting is getting to see The Wasp in action. Her powers clearly work a lot differently to Ant-Man’s and her wings and blasters both look pretty formidable as she takes on some goons.  It looks like director Peyton Reed is really upping the ante in terms of what we’ll see visually in Ant-Man and The Wasp because buildings, vehicles, and even a Pez dispenser shrink and increase in size here. What do you guys think of this first trailer for the sequel? Sound off below.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Trailer.

Earlier tonight, the ‘Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom’ trailer was released, (after several days of being delayed) it had nowhere near the impact of the Avengers: Infinity War trailer much to the chagrin of Universal. (Avengers 12M YouTube views in 6 hours, Jurassic 4M YouTube views in 6 hours) However, the reactions have generally been quite positive, and as was pointed out to me by a friend, there are some fans of the franchise who believe the Jurassic films can do no wrong.  (I just think Jeff Goldblum can do no wrong).  Take a look at the trailer (if you haven’t seen it already) and sound off on what you think about this 5th installment.

Those ‘Smasher’ Boys Have Done It Again.

For any cinephile or movie aficionado, there are always hopes and dreams for movies that we know will never, (unfortunately) come true on film.  Luckily for us… (Trolly)Smasher and crew have an AMAZING library of concept trailers on their YouTube channel. The first one that we watched personally was the ‘Back To The Future 4’ trailer, and it blew us away.  Because of legal wranglings, there will never BE a ‘Back To The Future 4’… but you would never know that if you stumbled across this at random…

The ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ Trailer Is HERE.

gotgvol2posterofficial

The Guardians Of The Galaxy have been in the background of comic book fans minds, until James Gunn took the whimsical band of misfits, and turned their property into one of the greatest super-hero films of all time.  Since then, fans of the books, the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), and good movies in general have been clamoring to see more.  Today they get their wish, ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2’ got its debut trailer just a mere hours ago.  Check the method.

The Incredible Final ‘Star Wars: Rouge One’ Trailer.

rogueone-astarwarsstory

The action-packed final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is here, and it features plenty of exciting new footage from the Gareth Edwards-directed prequel.  We get our first proper look at Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, more of Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera, and of course another glimpse of the returning man in black, Darth Vader.

The Road To ‘Civil War’.

Captain+America-+Civil+War

The American Civil War… just kidding.  This has nothing to do with any of that.  I had the incredible opportunity to see Captain America: Civil War today, and I will not spoil anything.  However before I hit the secret Disney/Marvel screening, I took a look at a YouTube playlist of all the current Marvel Cinematic Universe trailers (which you can find here), and in the process, I stumbled across a video from the amazing editors at ‘MCU Exchange’ titled “Road To Civil War”.  This is a wonderfully put together 7 minute video that shows the progression of the MCU up until Captain America: Civil War.  Check out the complete wrap up below. Civil War hits theaters on Thursday May 5th in the U.S.

Super Bowl 50’s Captain America TV Spot.

Screen Shot 2016-02-07 at 4.31.40 PM

Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is rife with new trailers, and exciting premieres, already we’ve seen ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Jason Bourne’ debut trailers, but the most exciting trailer by far of a film we’ve already seen a glimpse of, was ‘Captain America: Civil War’.  Filled with new looks at characters, and an ominous overtone, the ONLY thing wrong with this trailer is that there’s still no view of Spider-man.  (However, I’d rather wait until the actual movie to be surprised, so I’m not too upset by it.)

Take A New Look At The Suicide Squad.

tt

DC’s Suicide Squad has been a primary source of interest since 2015’s Comic-Con reveal.  A few days after the release of their character posters for the film, DC and the powers that be have revealed a new trailer, showing off tons of new footage, and a bit more of the story.  Lets start with the negative (simply because there isn’t much of it.)  The CG doesn’t seem complete, and could be better in certain shots, specifically in regards to El Diablo.  Thats really about it.  You get more well rounded view of all the characters, and their individual roles with the exception of the Joker.  It appears as if Joker isn’t the only advisory if he’s an advisory at all, and he gets a bit more screen time than the previous footage.  Both “Mr. J” and Harley Quinn steal the show, with Joker doing his famous laugh while laying amongst a kaleidoscope of knives, and Harley giving an amazing line about the voices in her head.  Check the trailer below.

TMNT: Out Of The Shadows vs. X-Men: Apocalypse Trailers.

tmntoots029 tmntoots006 tmntoots001

The Turtles have been popping back up in popularity since the 2000’s, and aside from new video games, and comic crossovers, their movies are extremely well known.  (Well known and well liked are two different things), but weather you knew it or not, the Leo, Mikey, Don, and Raph were destined for a comeback. The stakes seem quite a bit higher, as New York appears to be invaded by someone (#BringDatKrang) and there’s also the arrival of Casey Jones.  It may be quite early to tell, but this will probably be a much better film than the original.

X-Men Apocalypse (oddly enough) was announced before its predecessor (X-Men: Days Of Future Past) was even released.  That being the case, the hype surrounding this film has been palpable, and now we know it’s for good reason.  The (young) X-Men squaring off with the most feared advisory in their universe seems like a good idea on paper, but seeing some of it come to life is downright exciting.  Check the method below.

The Martian – Trailer

An epic new trailer for the movie “The Martian” looks even more intense than the last one, and it raises some intriguing questions about the value of human life in space exploration.

Set to the howling Jimi Hendrix song “All Along the Watchtower,” the new trailer for “The Martian,” directed by Ridley Scott, features some thrilling (and stressful) clips of astronauts braving Martian storms, rocket launches and other near-death experiences. The film focuses on astronaut Mark Watney (played by Matt Damon), who is mistakenly presumed dead by his fellow Mars explorers and is left behind on the Red Planet.

When NASA officials discover that Watney is alive, they must decide whether to rescue him and, in doing so, risk the lives of the other six crew members. At one point in the trailer, the director of NASA (played by Jeff Daniels) grapples with the decision, stating, “It’s bigger than one person,” to which another character replies, “No. It’s not.” The film raises the question: If a person willingly embraces the risks of space exploration, should he or she be rescued at all costs?

You may have strong, fond memories of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a child, or maybe you had to buy the toys for your kids, maybe you lived in Siberea from 1992 until 1999, and have no idea what I’m referring to… But regardless of your association these colorful heroes, they are getting a big budget reboot soon.  Atlanta native Goni Montes, has taken his illustration skills to create some extremely impressive solo posters for the Rangers.  Check the method.

Fear the Walking Dead Trailer

AMC has offered up a glimpse of why we should all fear The Walking Dead prequel Fear the Walking Dead. This 30-second clip showcases series co-star Frank Dillane racing away from an unseen threat, which we all know to be a brain-hungry zombie.

But, in the world of the series, Dillane’s character, Nick, may not be entirely aware of what’s going on. That’s partly because he’s a college dropout with a bad drug habit, but also due to the fact that the series begins in the early days of the zombie apocalypse (a stretch of time during which Walking Dead hero Rick Grimes was in a coma), when the general public hasn’t yet awakened to the fact that civilization as they knew it was ending.

That’s a collapse that Fear the Walking Dead, which takes place in Los Angeles, will follow as the episodes progress, though creator Robert Kirkman also says the new series will eventually jump forward in time to line up with the chronology of its zombie mothership. Along with Dillane, the cast includes Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis as an affianced couple, and Ruben Blades and Mercedes Mason as a father and daughter.

Fear the Walking Dead premieres in August on AMC.

‘Pixels’ The First (Amazing) Trailer.

pixelsnewheader

Sony Pictures has unleashed the first trailer for ’80s arcade comedy action film Pixels, which you can watch below. The film, which stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and Brian Cox, hits theaters on July 24.

In Pixels, intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them and attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Dinklage and Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Monaghan plays the team’s unique weapons specialist.

The action-comedy is directed by Chris Columbus from a story by Tim Herlihy and a screenplay by Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling, based on the original short film of the same name by Patrick Jean. The film is produced by Adam Sandler, Chris Columbus, Mark Radcliffe, and Allen Covert. Executive Producers are Barry Bernardi, Michael Barnathan, Jack Giarraputo, Heather Parry, Tim Herlihy, Steve Koren, Patrick Jean, Benjamin Darras, Johnny Alves, Matias Boucard, Seth Gordon, and Ben Waisbren.

The Birth of Hip Hop Fashion.

RunDMC-600x3911

Today, hip-hop and fashion go together like Kanye and Versace, but urban hip-hop style — think Adidas, tanks and oversized pants — didn’t always have a home in the mainstream. In Fresh Dressed, a CNN Films production, director Sacha Jenkins chronicles the evolution of “fresh” style and rappers’ transition from Armani suits to b-boy chic on stage.

“Hip-hop fashion was derived through the music,” explains Carl Banks in an exclusive clip from the documentary. “It was a ‘we’re not gonna follow the rules’ mentality, both in music and in fashion.” The “rewrite the rules” vibe was definitely one that resonated with young audiences, launching the hip-hop subculture from South Bronx to the forefront of popular fashions.

The energetic film, which features in-depth interviews with familiar faces of industry insiders like Pharrell Williams and Andre Leon Talley, premiered at Sundance on Jan. 24. Be prepared to feel a wave of nostalgia for your boombox and Puma tracksuit.

Curious About The NEW Fantastic 4? Check The First Trailer Here.

the-fantastic-four-2015-why-miles-teller-thinks-we-re-going-to-love-it-5ec78a89-fff3-4ca5-a319-3329a7512623

For those out there who may not be die-hard comic book fans, the 2005 and 2007 incarnations of Marvel’s original super hero team, are what they’re most familiar with.  The older movies stayed quite true to the comics, and were received differently by many, but stay in the mind of many as “the way things should be”.  So when a reboot of the Fantastic Four was announced, the first pill for people to swallow was the inclusion of Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm.  That uproar was followed swiftly by people questioning the age of the rest of the cast, and the “new tone” of the film.  Director Josh Trank boldly advertised a more “sci-fi” tone than that of a traditional super hero film, and the look of the first trailer definitely feels like the 2014 Godzilla flick, (which the 2005 Fantastic 4 film was more like the 1998 Godzilla).  But all that “different” left people quite curious, and now we have some answers.  Check the teaser below, and let us know what you think.

Simply put, this iteration of the super hero team is based on the ‘Ultimate Fantastic Four’, as apposed to the Earth-616 continuity.  (I’ll explain what that means for the non-nerds).  In the mid 2000’s Marvel decided to reboot many of their famous characters, (Spiderman, The X-Men, Fantastic Four etc.) much the way Hollywood has been rebooting movies faster than a crashed PC.  In the ‘Ultimate’ version of Fantastic Four, the character are child prodigies, and are recruited by the government in exchange for funding their work.  Their powers, abilities and back stories are a bit different from the “regular” versions that exist in what Marvel calls “Earth 616”, so when the movies were to be re-booted, Trank and crew just used the source material from the re-booted Marvel universe.

3099861-500px-reed_richards_earth-1315

In the ‘Ultimate’ universe Reed is a child genius who displayed his curiosity from the day he was born. At the age of 11, following a demonstration of his research on the field of teleportation at a school science fair, Reed was recruited for a government program which sponsors young geniuses’ research. He continued his research at the government research facility located in Manhattan’s Baxter Building. At the age of 21 his research was realized as he and several others attempted to teleport organic material through an alternate plane of existence called the N-Zone. The experiment went awry giving Reed and several others super powers. His powers enable him to stretch his body parts to incredible lengths and endow him with enhanced durability.

Ultimate_Fantastic_Four_Vol_1_28_Page_11_Benjamin_Grimm_(Earth-20604)

Gifted physically as a youth, Ben Grimm is Reed’s best “and only” friend. When they were in school together, Ben would protect Reed from various bullies, including ones “three years younger”, and in exchange Reed would help Ben with his math homework. Ben moved on to college and was invited to watch Reed’s teleportation experiment. Grimm woke up as the Thing in Mexico City. The teleportation through the N-Zone gave him an orange rocky hide which boosts his strength and makes him nigh-invulnerable to physical damage and physiologically stressful conditions (such as a toxic breathing environment), and he no longer feels differences in temperature. However, despite Ben’s seeming happy-go-lucky disposition, the transformation has caused deep psychological trauma.

161dc4d3b2bd2cdce63d5471726fd2be

The eldest child of renowned scientist Franklin Storm, Sue Storm inherited her father’s genius at an early age. Since early childhood, she has been one of the prodigies studying and working at the Baxter Building, a midtown Manhattan government research lab. Following her father into physics, at age eight she built a sugar-power rocket and accidentally destroyed her father’s car, after which she changed her focus to “inner space” biology.  After attending the Nevada desert testing of Reed’s N-Zone dimensional teleporter, and being transformed, she made the study of herself and her three partners her new life’s work.  Sue spent months investigating their abilities and charting their powers while improving her own understanding of herself. She has deduced the nature of both Reed and Johnny’s changes, though her own powers remain unexplained and she is unable to penetrate Ben’s skin to determine any more detail than his internal fluid pressure. Sue continues to develop her control of her force fields, using them to create pressurized environments at the bottom of the sea, plugging her own throat to prevent swallowing poison gas, and creating “cushions” to catch falling people and objects. Damage to her force fields also causes her mental strain or, in extreme cases, to black out.

Human_Torch_09

Susan Storm’s younger brother is a short-tempered teen, who is enamored with good-looking girls and has a rock-star attitude. Also a high school drop out, the obvious “cool factor” of his powers only serves to heighten these personality traits: Johnny’s powers engulf him in flames that enable him to fly and shoot fiery projectiles. This power sometimes has detrimental effects on his body, as Johnny burns, (or more accurately fuses), his own body-fat to provide his ‘fuel’, and every so often, he “hibernates” and sheds off the skin cells that protect him from his own flames, growing new ones. Regardless, he finds the idea of being a real superhero incredibly exciting and firmly intends to sign up with The Ultimates once he is old enough, rather than continue hanging around the Baxter Building with the “nerds and geeks”.

3423668-ultimate-fantastic-four-crossover-1No one in the public knows exactly how much of the source material above will be portrayed in the new movie, nor do we know the relationship between Sue and Johnny since they’re obviously not biologically siblings.  But all that said, take another look at the trailer, and all the “inconsistencies” people have been griping about should at least have a little more meaning.
