Under Ice Fishing.

When people hear the words ‘Ice Fishing’… some variation of the image above pops into mind.  Even though at times there may be a more glamorous side of ice fishing, it all just ends in cold, wet waiting around.  But recently I found a video that just blew my interpretation of the sport right out of the water.  Under Ice fishing is the act of diving under the ice, and using the frozen lid of the lake as a floor by turning yourself upside down.  I could try and describe it, but it’s easier if you just watch the gravity bending video below.  The video was filmed at the beautiful lake Saarijärvi in Vaala, Finland.

Divers:
Fisherman: Eelis Rankka
Fisherman’s friend: Tommi Salminen
Boy with the balloon: Jukka Pelttari
