Best New Hip Hop Collabs.

There are two collabs right now I’ve heard over the holiday season that have thoroughly impressed me, not just by the combination of artists, but by the quality of music that was produced. The first is the song “Syllables” featuring Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Cashis, and Dr. Dre (there are other versions with other artists, but this version is my favorite). And my second is “Look At Me Now” brought to you by Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne. Unlike “Syllables” the latter of these two is destined to be a huge club hit. “Syllables” however is almost the opposite, with Eminem opening the track talking about the state of music declining because of the content of club song’s emphasis on beats, catchy hooks, and un-memorable verses. But “Look At Me Now” may not have been exactly what he was talking about, because although the hook is a bit dumbed down, Busta Rhymes comes to the table with a furious barrage of lines the likes of which I haven’t seen since “Break Your Neck”. And Lil Wayne proves ones again he can say anything (literally anything) and make it ridiculously hot. So see above for “Syllables” and below for “Look At Me Now”.
