In this HILARIOUS new video with Chris Brown and Lil Dicky, they retell the story of ‘Freaky Friday’ after voicing their disappointment with their lives. As in any body switch movie, whoever the protagonist is, complains, becomes someone else, and realizes that things were better to begin with, but this unusual pairing take it to a whole new level. And although the video is a bit lengthy, watch until the end, there are a few surprise cameos. Check the method.
Pia Mia has been making a wave or the past couple years and seems to have reached a new height with her current hit single ‘Do It Again”. The video was shot at the beach and features Chris Brown and Tyga, who also appeared on the track.
“Getting to do this record with Chris and Tyga was a very special experience for me,” Pia told Rap-Up. “They’re both artists that I love and have listened to for a long time, and getting to see how they work in the studio is inspiring to me.”
The mix of the two rappers and her strong vocals are a great combination for the track. Tyga couldn’t help but give her a major shoutout today on his social media. “Congrats @princesspiamia on the new video#DoItAgain,” he wrote, along with a still from the video.
With all the drama recently surrounding Chris Brown, not to be overlooked is the upcoming release of his long-awaited sixth LP, X, which will finally hit shelves September 16. As a final push before the project drops, Chris Brown releases the video for the Ariana Grande assisted single “Don’t Be Gone Too Long.” In the fairy tale treatment, Breezy is tasked with saving his cinnamon apple, Grande, from the evil ruler. X will contain 21 songs with appearances from Lil Wayne, Tyga, Usher, Rick Ross, Kendrick lamar, Trey Songz, Akon, Nicki Minaj and Aaliyah.
DJ Mustard sits down in the studio to talk about how he created “Show Me” for Kid Ink featuring Chris Brown, breaking down each element that went into the beat while at the legendary Encore Recording Studios where he records at. E-40 rounds up T.I. and Chris Brown for the official video to their collaboration“Episode.” His new triple album The Block Brochure: Welcome To The Soil 4, 5 & 6.
Pusha T gathers a few sexy women for his dark music video “Sweet Serenade,” which sees the Virginia emcee aggressively rapping about the life that he made while celebrating his success. In the Colin Tilley-directed steamy visual, Pusha chills on a beach chair surrounded by bikini-clad, alluring women; one making the booty clap on a stripper pole. Brown lends his support by crooning the smooth chorus.
“‘Sweet Serenade,’ it doesn’t sound really sweet, it’s pretty dark, so to capture that, we came and shot on the beach at nighttime. It gives it that eery feel, but still soothing,” states Pusha.
2-cent Good Christmas was created as a Music Video Parody for the holidays back in 2010. But every year around christmas I can’t get enough of this. This parody makes fun of Eminem, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Rick Ross, Willow Smith, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Kanye West, Birdman, Nicki Minaj, Plies, Drake, Lil Wayne, Wyclef, and Lady Gaga.
From Elijah Wood to Jenna Jameson, passing by Amanda Lepore, Kareem Black shot a lot of celebrities for different editorial purposes. But Kareem Black is more than just a celebrity portrait-er. The pictures of the new yorker photographer show a real investment in aesthetic, making him work with brands & magazines such as Vitamin Water, GQ, Vibe, Verizon & Burger King.
Game grabs Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa for the first single off his upcoming F.I.V.E. album, due out later this year. The track is called “Celebration” and the producer behind it is Sap. Check out the video below.
The term “out of sight, out of mind” is something that people don’t understand the gravity of. If there’s a war in some corner of a foreign country not as many people are aware of it as if it was on your TV screen or iPad screen every day. Such is the way I feel about music in the Bay Area. Coming from the Tri State area, anything that was big on the radio there, was big on the radio everywhere. Moving out to the Bay was the first time I realized that alot of good music goes undiscovered, and I still to this day, 7 years later, haven’t figured out why. Songs like ‘Up’ from Love Rance, and ‘Function’ from E40, Problem, & IAMSU, are tracks that have the same vibe as Drake’s ‘The Motto’, but took so much time to be heard by the entire country. But every so often, a track like ‘Tell Me When To Go’ travels across the entire U.S. and gives Northern California a little bit of the massive shine it deserves. Needless to say when I saw the video of the remix of ‘Function’ for the first time, I was glad that a track from the Bay was getting the attention songs from other regions get all the time. Check the method.
Did you think the Chris Brown and Drake drama was finished? Of course it isn’t. Chris Brown hops on Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like,” and drops some lyrical darts at his fellow light-skinned antagonist. Although Breezy makes it clear that he has no problems at all with the other members of YMCMB, he makes it crystal clear his beef is with Drake and it is over Rihanna.
“A f-ck ni**a, that’s that sh-t I don’t like/They throwin’ bottles, I’m throwin’ models just ’cause I give a Itchbay long pipe,” raps Breezy. “I be singin’, he be singin’, so it’s on, fight/ But hold up, I ain’t give a ni**a no green light/ This head up, my bread up, one on one, what you scared, bruh?/ Matter fact, take care bruh, you a pu**y ni**a/ My ni**a Tunechi, yeah that ni**a nice/ Shout out to Nicki, man, that A$$ tight/ Them eyebrows, man, them sh-ts is yikes/ OVO, you overdosed, screamin’ YOLO no, I live twice.”
New video from Chris Brown ft. Big Sean & Wiz Khalifa “Till I Die” has Brown with gold teeth being his natural self, when he steps on the smoke filled 420 elevator and meets Sean & Wiz this video even has a guest appearance from Uncle Snoop driving them around downtown. Check the method.
Chris Brown is a man of many talents, singer, dancer, boxer, etc. But this recent series of videos titled ‘Real Hip Hop Sh*t’ is displaying his talents as a rapper. He’s got the skill, and after hanging with veterans like Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, T-Pain or Pitbull its only logical that he’s good. Check out the video for ‘Real Hip Hop Sh*t’ below.
Since his Busta Rhymes merge into the YMCMB fold, he’s been putting out banger after banger. His newest collab with Reek Da Villain is on the ever growing “Birthday Cake” track from Rihanna. Considering how much of a stir the version with Chris Brown made, I’m not sure if this cut will be more refreshing to people’s ears, or if folks will stick to what’s already on the radio.
The decision that Busta Rhymes made to sign to YMCMB might have been a bit shocking to some. People seem to have thought it might impede his ability to make great music, or that his records may not have sold as well, or… (whatever else people were thinking. Personally I loved the decision). The remix of ‘Why Stop Now’ is a perfect example of Bussa Buss can do not just on YMCMB, but on any label he’ll ever be on. Between the success of the original, and the re-introduction of Missy Elliott on the remix, this song is destined to have tons of radio play.
Bussa Buss is very well known for his quick-spitting abilities, but the track “Why Stop Now” (which you can listen to above) is a knock out of the park for the lyrical dynamo. But the video, currently in post-production might just be one for the ages. Check the behind the scenes footage below.
I do my best not to help stimulate hip hop beef, or draw too much attention to it on the blog… BUT this one was a little too much for me to ignore. Odd Future’s own Frank Ocean went off on Chris brown for seemingly no reason recently on twitter after Chris Brown complimented him. What ensued was a back and forth between Brown, Tyler The Creator, and Frank Ocean that was eventually broken up by none other than The Game (random.) But although the argument may have ended there, I’m getting the feeling things are just heating up. More below.
Now, I have to admit, that Chris Brown doesn’t exactly strike me as the most gangsta of the child star R&B singers on the planet, however, this doesn’t mean that his family won’t go hard. From the description of a video that surfaced recently, Frank Ocean allegedly ran after being confronted by Chris Brown. But weather that’s true or not remains to be seen. What the video actually shows however is Frank Ocean driving away from who are reported to be Chris Browns cousin. TO ME, by the looks of things in the video combined with knowing a bit of background on the Odd Future crew, I don’t think this is the end of it at all. And who knows, if this is the next hip hop beef to spill over from word to action, Chris Brown may have the upper hand… he messed Robyn pretty bad.
I’m an avid ‘Tosh.0′ fan, and I love some of the segments he posts up like “Asians doing Christopher Walkin impressions” or the subsequent “White girls doing Bill Cosby impressions”, but recently I’ve seen a rash of “White girls doing covers of Look At Me Now”. For whatever odd reason, girls all over the place have taken to trying to spit either the Busta Rhymes’ verse, or the entire song, but one girl in particular has nailed it. During a studio session I was prompted to look up a video of “Karmin” performing the track originally by Chris Brown, Busta Buss, and Lil Tunchi (Lil Wayne), and I was quite impressed, especially by the adaptation of the chorus. Check the method below.
Check a behind the scenes look at the Big Sean’s video for his first ablum single “My Last” featuring Chris Brown with blond hair, (I’m sorry, I still think he looks like Amber Rose with the hair, but to each-is-own) Check the method below.
There are two collabs right now I’ve heard over the holiday season that have thoroughly impressed me, not just by the combination of artists, but by the quality of music that was produced. The first is the song “Syllables” featuring Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Cashis, and Dr. Dre (there are other versions with other artists, but this version is my favorite). And my second is “Look At Me Now” brought to you by Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, and Lil Wayne. Unlike “Syllables” the latter of these two is destined to be a huge club hit. “Syllables” however is almost the opposite, with Eminem opening the track talking about the state of music declining because of the content of club song’s emphasis on beats, catchy hooks, and un-memorable verses. But “Look At Me Now” may not have been exactly what he was talking about, because although the hook is a bit dumbed down, Busta Rhymes comes to the table with a furious barrage of lines the likes of which I haven’t seen since “Break Your Neck”. And Lil Wayne proves ones again he can say anything (literally anything) and make it ridiculously hot. So see above for “Syllables” and below for “Look At Me Now”.
It seems like ever since the release of their movie “Takers” people have been waiting for more collab material from Chris Brown and T.I. together. Well for the people I know personally who have stated this gripe, I present to you the official video for “Get Back Up”. Check the method below.
