Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A3 iPad Dock.

Bang & Olufsen announced the BeoPlay A3, a cleverly designed wedge-shaped stand, dock and sound system for any iPad that works in four configurations.  The dock sense the iPad’s orientation and adjusts which speakers are activated in order to produce the best possible sound quality.  Other features include a built-in battery good for 5 hours of playback, an integrated dock connector, and adapters for any model of iPad.  The idea behind the dock is that it helps to make use of an older iPad that you may have lying around now that you’ve bought the new one.  The BeoPlay A3 will be available in black starting May 21st for $549, with a white version planned for the near future.

Think Invisible.

Think Invisible is an awesome project created by Adri Bodor & Mark Szulyovszky and is made at Colabs… How can you see anything that isn’t there actually? It is the core question of Think Invisible. Circles give deficient contour of the pictures – that’s the simple method how we make hundred-times-seen pictures interesting again. It is not the magic that lets you recognize the whole design, but your mind. This tricky illusion of the contours intentionally shows important details, and hides all the rest. Since what matters is invisible. Take a careful look on the pictures below and let’s see how many of them you can recognize.

B.ez.

B.ez the brand is an ambiguous experimentation found at the intersection of three different, but like-minded individuals. It encompasses an attempt to use the creative mind as the vessel for freedom of expression on the quest to chase one’s dreams and ambitions.  B.ez is not your father’s t-shirt brand nor is it shaking up the clothing industry. B.ez is not claiming to be a revolutionary brand that will change your life nor is it some unexplainable movement. B.ez is simply making moves. It’s not for everyone; find out if it’s for you.

The b. is the ‘action’. It means stop talking about doing the things you want to do and just do them. Be true to yourself and just b. you.  The ez is the ‘how’. The mood at which to handle your goals.  It’s important to always be humble in your quest for success, as this will keep you in the right circles in the future.  The octopus is the symbol of our brand; it represents creativity, wisdom, and a sense of mystery. We feel it suits our endeavors favorably and we are enjoying manipulating its appearance for the sake of intrigue.

The RIN Chair.

The Japanese word RIN means an appearance that is stunning, elegant and courageous. The idea is to create a new type of chair that is in harmony with Japanese and Danish design traditions.  Designed by Hiromichi Konno, if nothing else, this chair has one of the best photographers I’ve ever seen.

Hiromichi Konno says:

“I wanted to make a beautiful chair that can stimulate and awaken emotions in people. It must be able to appeal visually but also make us feel a form of elegance when we sit in it. Therefore, I have established something poetical, simple, strong, relaxed and innovative all at the same time. The goal from the beginning was to create the perfect chair”

Modern Italian Architecture

This modern italian architecture known as ‘Wohnhaus Pircher, Planit C’ is a single family residence positioned amidst a scenic landscape near the italian-austrian border in Toblach, Italy. The south facing terraces and promenades line the roof to offer panoramic vistas of the mountains blanketed with trees. Staggered volumes arranged around a central courtyard allow natural daylight to permeate into the sub-grade wellness and fitness spaces. The entry floor contains a work room and a living area and the kitchen and dining room are elevated, accessed by a stair which wraps around the glass encased open-air atrium.

Yuki Matsueda.

While most designers are busying adding more and more elements into their artworks, Japan-based Yuki Matsueda has, however, managed to let some elements escape from his art pieces. The result seems quite amazing… A vivid 3D image is successfully created and all the elements are believed to be more shocking than those stay still on paper.

The Movie Generals.

Today I saw some work from Steve Payne, who created the ‘Replaceface’ series, where Steve took digital copies of George Dawe’s paintings of Russian generals and added celebrities faces to the portrait using Photoshop. So as always, enjoy & live inspired.

If Video Game Consoles Were Buildings…

French culture magazine ‘Amusement’ has posted a fun photo feature online called If I were President…, which replaces buildings with super-sized gaming consoles and handhelds. It’s funny, I never realized before how much our old-school NES resembled a Brutalist structure. Click through to see how the PS3 looks on the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin…

Main Point Karlin Office Building.

Main Point Karlin has received appreciation for its distinctive sustainable architecture and high technological level. The building uses a number of approaches in its sustainable design, among them, use of the River Vltava’s water throughout the summer for building cooling, eliminating the need for compressors and chillers; Cooling is further naturally regulated by the coloured fibreC elements on the facade which are not only aesthetic but serve to reduce heat gains from sunlight penetration.

Chinese Rubber Band Typo

The Chinese Rubber band typo was designed by Hong Kong designer Che ManChing. Che ManChing’s design was of five of the unfortunate conflicts in Hong Kong that has happened at different times, such as; SARS, and the economic recession in Hong Kong. The generous design concept used rubber bands so that the people of Hong Kong can bend and can stretch the different colors interweaving the five key words of the five storms, expressing Hong Kong people united as one, regardless of good times and bad, are holding the resilient spirit.

Raw Materials And Brilliant Textures Displayed In Loft 24-7

Check Your 808.

“This series of four posters, dubbed “Program Your 808” is coming from Birmingham-based graphic designer, Rob Ricketts. The posters don’t just look pretty they’re actually functional. Ricketts’ idea was to detail how some of the most notable drum sequences (Afrika Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock,” Cybotron’s “Clear,” A Guy Called Gerald’s “Voodoo Ray” and “No Way Back” by Adonis) were programmed using the Roland TR-808 Drum Machine. Each sequence has been analyzed and represented as to allow you, the user, to re-program each sequence, key for key. Pretty dope.”

Seung Mo Park

South Korean artist Seung Mo Park created a stunning series of giant portraits made with layers of wire mesh. The piece above is known as Maya. It was the third phase in a trajectory of Park’s conceptual works dealing with reality, illusion, and existence. Barely possessing materiality of sculpture, or the ideas within them, the idea and conceptualization of MAYA is far from tangible substances.

Just in Case Survival Kit

Thinking ahead, Mexican design agency, Menosunocerouno, have created for this period of our evolution the ‘Just in Case’ survival kit as part of a bit of self-promotional fun. Dec. 21, 2012, was the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era. Using yellow as the color evoked by light and black as the color that will absorb all such frequencies of light, Menosunocerouno have the most informative colours combined for the most attention. This is not the end, it’s just the beginnging …

Window Phone Concept

The Window Phone is still just a concept with extraordinary features. Surely if this could be put into production, it would set a new standard for the term “cool”. From showing you the weather on the screen, being see through, and having a unique call and text mode, this phone concept is going to take technology to the next level.

Bio Robot Refrigerator

The Bio Robot fridge cools biopolymer gel through luminescence. It might look stinky and sticky but it’s actually an odorless gel that envelopes the food. The concept for this refrigerator does not require expenditure of energy for cooling products. With a design that is 4 times smaller than the conventional refrigerator, the refrigerator can change shape depending on the intensity of its use depending on the number of products. Without shelves and doors you can place it both vertically and horizontally, while having products in a plain view and easily accessible. Check this fridge out.
