Fear The Walking Dead: First Look.

fear-1

Although it was announced at Comic-Con that Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on August 23rd, the first look surfaced online recently. The companion series is a prequel dealing with the zombie outbreak, and this first trailer does a great job of setting the tone. Will it live up to the series it’s based on? That remains to be seen. Once again, we’ll update this post with a region-free version of the trailer the second it becomes available. What do you think about this first look at Fear The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead Season 6 Full Trailer

During Comic-Con in San Diego last week, AMC debuted one of its most action-packed trailers yet for “The Walking Dead” Season 6. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Scott Gimple admitted: “We sometimes play with the truth in trailers.” So, even though the trailer seems very promising, especially for real fans of the show, it might not be all in the actually show itself. We will see! Check the trailer below!

Fear the Walking Dead Trailer

AMC has offered up a glimpse of why we should all fear The Walking Dead prequel Fear the Walking Dead. This 30-second clip showcases series co-star Frank Dillane racing away from an unseen threat, which we all know to be a brain-hungry zombie.

But, in the world of the series, Dillane’s character, Nick, may not be entirely aware of what’s going on. That’s partly because he’s a college dropout with a bad drug habit, but also due to the fact that the series begins in the early days of the zombie apocalypse (a stretch of time during which Walking Dead hero Rick Grimes was in a coma), when the general public hasn’t yet awakened to the fact that civilization as they knew it was ending.

That’s a collapse that Fear the Walking Dead, which takes place in Los Angeles, will follow as the episodes progress, though creator Robert Kirkman also says the new series will eventually jump forward in time to line up with the chronology of its zombie mothership. Along with Dillane, the cast includes Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis as an affianced couple, and Ruben Blades and Mercedes Mason as a father and daughter.

Fear the Walking Dead premieres in August on AMC.

The Netflix Workout Guide.

Netflix

When writer Jessica Catcher put out her TV show workout guide via Mashable.com, we felt fit to add just a little bit to it.  Watching TV doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be a couch potato.  If one were to simply watch their favorite shows, and do some workout exercises while the shows were on, in theory the more TV you watch, the more of a workout you’d get.  Check out our improved list of Netflix shows that could give you some of the best workouts by just following a few simple rules.  Much like a drinking game, when something specific happens, you have a few actions to do… the more you watch, the better workout you get.

Ms. Christina Serratos.

The stunning American actress Christian Marie Serratos was born on September 21, 1990. The 23 year old, is best known for her roles in the “Twilight Saga” as Angela Weber as well as Rosita Espinosa in season 4 of one of my favorite shows “The Walking Dead”, first appearing at the end of the 10th episode, “Inmates”. Born in the Pasadena, California and raised in Los Angeles, beautiful Christian is of Mexican, Italian and Irish descent.
Serrastos’ role in Twilight won her the “Young Supporting Actress” award in the Best Performance in a Feature Film category at the 30th Young Artist Awards. Serratos reprised the role in Twilight’s sequels The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In 2011, she appeared in The Black Keys video for their song “Howlin’ for You”. And she ranked, well deserved, at number 65 on Maxim’s “Hot 100” list in 2010.

The Walking Dead Monopoly Set

The-Walking-Dead-Monopoly-1

AMC finally gets a gift we already knew was coming – an official Walking Dead Monopoly set. After seeing all of the prototype boards over the years, Hasbro has finally decided to release an officially licensed version. While the rules are pretty much the same in this zombie version of the popular game we all know and love, players will now play for resources that will save your life, as oppose to making you rich in the standard version. There are six different collectible tokens to choose from including Michonne’s katana, Rick’s Hat, RV, Lucille (bat), a bucket of body parts, and a telephone symbolizing Rick’s meltdown during season 3 of the show.

The Perfect Zombie Proof House.

My good friend Carlos C. and I have a deep routed affinity for the AMC show “The Walking Dead”, and after watching the very intense season 2 finale, I stumbled across something interesting.  Situated deep within the Adirondack State Park in Upstate New York, this cabin was built atop a cold-war era missile silo and is currently on the market for only $1.75 million dollars. It’s basically perfect for surviving any sort of end of the world scenario… inlcuding zombies.

As the pictures progress, you are seeing deeper and deeper into the house’s structure.

Carlos, lets go halves on this spot… Just incase.

How To Make A Zombie.

The walking dead is one of my favorite shows on TV right now (since Entourage ended).  It’s just interesting to me to see how everyone involved can take a simple zombie movie premise and turn it into a full blown series.  For anyone who hasn’t seen it, it’s a damn good ongoing story that not just all about shooting the undead in the dome.  One of the things that never really grabbed my sense of curiosity was just how they made the zombies in the show.  But the make up designers for the show recently put up somewhat of a tutorial on how exactly they do it.  Check the method.

1. The “Walking Dead” makeup team fits actor Kevin Galbraith with a bald cap and accentuate his high cheekbones to make them look sunken.

2. Next, Galbraith is fitted with rotten-looking, custom-made dentures that can fit under a prosthesis.

3. A custom-made, foam latex prosthesis extends from Galbraith’s forehead to his neck.

4. Makeup artists Kevin Wasner (far left) and Jake Garber glue on individual body wounds. “We had to do his entire upper body. It took 45 minutes,” Nicotero says. Zombie blood is a mixture of Karo syrup, red and yellow food coloring and caramel, plus a drop of detergent so it soaks through clothing.

5. Garber next fits the greasy, sparse zombie wig to the bald cap.

6. Zombies have no time to shave so Wasner adds some stubble and some disgusting dried blood around Galbraith’s mouth. “It’s black sludge in their veins,” says Nicotero.7. The application of hand-painted white contact lenses is the final step of Galbraith’s transformation from working actor to frightening zombie. “The most inspiring part of what we’re doing is that you can have the same person sit in your chair 10 times and they won’t look like the same person when they walk out of the makeup trailer,” says Nicotero.

The Zombie Walk.

Contrary to what you may have thought when reading the title of this post, no this isn’t some sort of new dance craze. The Zombie Walk is an event held in different cities where people of all ages dress up in their best zombie garb and walk the streets. The photos in this post were taken from a walk in Canada. With the success of shows like “The Walking Dead” on AMC, or the slew of zombie movies over the last decade (28 Days Later, I Am Legend, Resident Evil, and Dawn of the Dead) it was only a matter of time before a spectacle like this became a cultural cult fascination.
