The New ‘Men In Black’ Is Here.

Sony Pictures has just dropped the first trailer for Men In Black International, and it looks like a damn good time.  The trailer gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the plot, as it’s revealed that Tessa Thompson’s character actually tracks down MIB after learning of the top-secret agency’s existence 20 years prior.  After ingratiating herself to Agent O (Emma Thompson), she’s given the moniker Agent M and partnered up with Chris Hemsworth (H), who definitely seems to be channeling The God of Thunder from Thor: Ragnarok for this role.

The Captain Marvel Trailer Is Here.

So its been known for some time that Carol Danvers was in line to be Marvel’s most powerful hero.  Captain Marvel (no pun intended, they literally wrote it that way) is the MCU’s newest hero to come to the screen, and her first trailer is here.  From the transition from “Her” to ‘Hero’ you know that there was time and effort put into this trailer, and hopefully the film as well.  It’s refreshing to see a heroine who (although she may get knocked down) can still get back up and do her job.  Shout out Hans for giving me the trailer early!

‘Iron Fist’ Officially Suits Up.

The marketing for the second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist has now kicked into high gear, as Danny Rand’s sophomore solo outing is set to hit Netflix early next month.  On the heels of the full trailer and a new poster, Netflix has debuted this banner which features Danny (Finn Jones) wearing his proto-Iron Fist costume. Though many fans would much rather see him jump straight into the classic comic outfit, Matt Murdock went through the same process in season 1 of Daredevil and everything worked out just fine. Granted, his all-black ensemble did look quite a bit cooler than this.

Get Your First Look At The New ‘Power Rangers’.

So it’s a fairly well known fact that the Power Rangers, much like many popular shows/properties is getting a reboot.  This morning we got our first look at the teaser trailer for the official Power Rangers film.  I say official film because last year an amazing UNofficial short film was released, that you can see be clicking here.  While some people were confused as to weather or not the official movie would follow the same path as the fan film, this concern is more than put to bed.  The new trailer seems a bit more like ‘Chronicle’, mixed with a dash of ‘Twilight’.  And although just the word “Twilight” may be off-putting to some, the basic concept of teenagers in a small town some of whom have special abilities is what I’m getting at.  There are some darker aspects to the teaser as well.  Rita Repulsa, the main villain of the piece says the words “I’ve killed other Rangers before”, which is something that was NEVER said in the original series.  “I’ll get you!” was the most common threat used in the original show, and even in the 1995 movie, the threat of death was never really present.  The trailer teases the suits, and has an apparent lack of Zords, however, if you were a Might Morphin Power Rangers fan back in the day, sound off in the comments and let us know how you feel about this reboot.

Ghostbusters- Official Trailer

Having a gnarly apparition throwing up green ectoplasm all over Kristen Wiig’s scientist character, the first full scene of the Ghostbusters trailer, which arrived online Thursday, is full of slime and…more slime.  “We went right for the slime, and not just a little slime,” director Paul Feig tells USA TODAY. “It’s called ecto-projecting.”  This green-filled start was important for the all-female Ghostbusters reboot starring Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones (in theaters July 15). It pays tribute to the famous New York Public Library ghost scene from the original 1984 Ghostbusters starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Switching from male to female Ghostbusters is a revive of the brand and gives Ghostbusters the opportunity to attract an even bigger audience.

But obviously, this Ghostbusters is entirely different.  “We wanted to plant a flag early. People don’t know what this movie is,” says Feig. “It’s a whole different team. But it’s kind of fun leading off with something iconic from the original.”  Feig, along with screenwriter Katie Dippold and producer Ivan Reitman (who directed the 1984 original), unveiled the trailer Wednesday to fans and media on the Sony Pictures lot. The trailer is promising and reminiscent of the iconic story yet with a updated spin and lots of good laughs.  Check the method.
