We hope executive producer Jordan Peele ok’ed using the classic Punjabi Emcee and Jay-Z, Dev Patel’s directorial debut in the action thriller genre with “Monkey Man.” Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, the film follows the protagonist, Kid, (played by ‘The Newsroom’s own) Patel, on a quest for vengeance against corrupt leaders who killed his mother and exploit the poor. Kid, who earns money in underground fight clubs, devises a plan to infiltrate the city’s elite and unleash his suppressed rage. The film features thrilling fight and chase scenes and boasts an international cast including Sharlto Copley and Sobhita Dhulipala. Produced by a team including Dev Patel, Jordan Peele, and others, “Monkey Man” promises to be a gripping and visually stunning film.
