Tyga – Swish (Official Video).

Booty booty booty.  The “Swish” video came out quite a while ago, but it still makes me quite happy.  Check the method.

T-Pain Sings Without AutoTune Once Again.

To mark the one-year anniversary of the most popular “Tiny Desk Concert” ever and the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Rappa Ternt Sanga, they hosted T-Pain at their Washington, D.C. headquarters. The inimitable Floridian performed a short set of classics, both his own and others’, and a brand new, never before heard song from his forthcoming album, Stoicville: The Phoenix.  Check out ‘Change Gon Come’ live, without any Autotune.

‘Iron Fist’ Officially Suits Up.

The marketing for the second season of Marvel’s Iron Fist has now kicked into high gear, as Danny Rand’s sophomore solo outing is set to hit Netflix early next month.  On the heels of the full trailer and a new poster, Netflix has debuted this banner which features Danny (Finn Jones) wearing his proto-Iron Fist costume. Though many fans would much rather see him jump straight into the classic comic outfit, Matt Murdock went through the same process in season 1 of Daredevil and everything worked out just fine. Granted, his all-black ensemble did look quite a bit cooler than this.

The New Spiderman is… Peter Patterson?

Fans were recently treated to an amazing launch trailer for Marvel and Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man PS4, and now they have an exciting open-world trailer to enjoy.  The latest trailer doesn’t really reveal anything new about the highly anticipated game, but it does live up to its namesake and provides us with an excellent look at the open-world environment, highlighting some of the tasks players can do.  However, even though it doesn’t feature a lot of new gameplay footage, you can hear a fun debate between J. Jonah Jameson and Peter Parker (Peter Patterson) as they discuss the web-slinger’s impact on the city.  And to top it all off, the spectacular new footage reveals a better look at a few of the iconic Marvel landmarks that will appear in the game, including Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum and Avengers Tower.

The ‘Generational Gap’.

Seeing as how my birthday was recently, I’ve been hearing many a story from my childhood today.  But listening to this has brought back memories that only people in my age range would associate with.  Once again, the amazing photographer Mike Campau has captured these images perfectly.

Generation gap.

Images of my childhood, when we…
had to get up to change the channel, collected enough stickers to fill a photo album
(oh, and we had photo albums), video games were for rainy days, used film to capture images, cranked up our boom boxes with homemade mixed tapes, ran around with toy guns that looked like the real thing, and had to “dial” a number.

Don’t Be Afraid To Fall. Duckwrth Is Back.

“Fall Back” may be one of Duckwrth’s finest productions yet.  Before I expand, take a listen to the song below.

Duckwrth as successfully don’t a feature with HIMSELF.  Over an aggressive beat produced by ‘Two Fresh Beats”, the song seems as if features multiple artists based on the pitch and tone of his bars.  But his aggressive nature, and smooth tones in the same song are quite unique, It engages the listener in a way that Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Mad City” do as well.  Take a listen to it above.

What Is Pizzaoki?

Pastry hurling international dance icon Steve Aoki has decided to temporarily halt the on-stage cake throwing gimmick and pick up the dough roller. The 40-year superstar DJ/producer has just announced the opening of Pizzaoki in his hometown of Los Angeles. As the son of Benihana’s founder, who once told Yahoo Finance he has never received a penny from his father, the inventively named new restaurant seems like a fitting next move for the entrepreneurial mogul.

A themed restaurant in it’s conception, much like the theatrical Japanese chain started by his late father, Aoki says that customers will be able to enjoy quality pizza recipes named after his hit songs — for instance, a classic cheese dubbed “Just Hold On” or the “Mayhem,” a supreme with all the toppings. The new concept also relies heavily on technology for delivery, as Pizzaoki currently lacks a brick and mortar location. Customers can currently place orders through Postmates and Uber Eats.

I’m Sure You’ve Heard Who’s Coming Back?

I know the ‘Rugrats’ fans from the 90’s already know the answer to this. The popular animated series about a crew of adventurous babies is coming back to both the big and small screens.  The show is being revived with a new 26-episode season and a live-action movie featuring CGI, Nickelodeon announced Monday.  Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures, Sarah Levy, the chief operating officer of Viacom Media Networks and interim president of Nickelodeon, said in a statement. The Daytime Emmy-winning show debuted in 1991 and ran for nine seasons over 13 years, reaching millions of viewers and inspiring three movies. The new Rugrats projects will reportedly feature the classic characters including Tommy and Angelica Pickles, Chuckie Finster, and Phil and Lil DeVille as well as some new ones.  Needless to say, many nostalgic Rugrats fans were excited to hear the news.

Uncharted – The Short Film.

Ever since Sony revealed their plans for a live-action Uncharted movie, fans worldwide have been clamoring to see Nathan Fillion (Firefly; CastleThe Death of Superman) take on the role of adventurer extraordinaire Nathan Drake – a dream-casting that Fillion was very much onboard with. However, those hopes and dreams were subsequently crushed when the studio opted to go in a vastly different direction with their movie and cast up-and-comer Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) as a younger version of the hero fans have come to know and love over the course of five video games. With that film perpetually stuck in development hell, Fillion and a few of his friends decided to take matters into their own hands and produced a 15-minute live-action fan film, directed by Allan Ungar, that finally puts Fillion in the shoes of good ol’ Nate as he tracks down the lost treasure of Flor de la Mar.  The cast is rounded out by Mircea Monroe (Episodes) as Elena Fisher, Stephen Lang (Avatar) as Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and Geno Segers (Banshee) as the villain.

This Is… (Insert Your Country Here).

Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) flabbergasted the country when he randomly released his incredible video for “This Is America”.  The symbolism, reflections of the current state of the U.S., and the over all tone of the music video is undeniably well thought out, original, and has resonated to not just Americans.  Several artists from all around the world have stepped up to represent the problems in the places that they live.  NOW, not to downplay the plights of other nations, but the similar styles, which are directly bitten from Gambino seem a bit unoriginal, and although the messages are clear, insightful, and informative, after a bit, one would hope that these artists would have found their own way to convey their thoughts. That being said, these “remixes” of ‘This Is America’ are extremely worth taking a listen to.  Between I-NZ bringing light to the state of Iraq post Americas 2003 invasion, or Falz discussing the conditions of current day Nigera, you can search for almost any country you want, you’ll find one of these videos.  Check the method below, listen to the messages.

Trevor Noah Snaps Back.

Trevor Noah is not only a brilliant individual, but a great comedian, and a damn good television host.  But no one is above scrutiny of their remarks.  Recently Mr. Noah made some remarks regarding the backgrounds of the French football (soccer) team, that he was totally justified in conveying, but not everyone in France was too thrilled about it.  In a behind the scenes look at The Daily Show, Trevor explained his thoughts and feelings about the comments made towards him, and he “clapped back” in spectacular fashion.  I’ll let him explain his plight in the Comedy Central video below.

It’s Time To Break The ‘Glass’.

M. Night Shyamalan just tore the roof off of Hall H with the first official trailer for his highly-anticipated Glass, which will feature the return of both Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price and Bruce Willis as David Dunn. Plus, this time, they’re joined by James McAvoy as Kevin Crumb and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, who reprise their roles from last year’s critically-acclaimed Split. The new trailer, which originally debuted at CinemaCon in April, offers plenty of outstanding footage as Mr. Glass partners with The Beast to wreak havoc on the world, leaving only Dunn and Cooke to find a way to stop them.

Enjoy the new trailer below.

Creed 2: Official Trailer.

It seems like Michael B. Jordan isn’t done kicking ass just because Black Panther vanished.  This installation of Creed, is being helmed by Steven Caple Jr. instead of Ryan Coogler, but still has the same look and feel as the original.  The first trailer dropped sometime last night, but you can check it out below.

The 2018 MTV Movie Award Winners.

Wakanda Forever! We’re still a long way from next year’s Academy Awards but comic book fans are already hoping that Black Panther will be recognised at the ceremony (making it the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nod since The Dark Knight). Regardless, the Marvel Studios movie dominated at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards picking up a number of huge wins at the show.

Stranger Things, meanwhile, took charge of the television field. That’s no great surprise giving its popularity but an argument could definitely be made that the second season wasn’t quite up there with the first! Going back to Black Panther, it’s great to see the movie receive so many awards and it just goes to show that it resonated with moviegoers in a big way. Did you catch the ceremony?

The Incredible Artwork of Thomas Cian.

It hasn’t been until recently that the team discovered the work of Thomas Cian, but when we did, we were blown away by the intricacies of his portraits.  Take a look below of his incredible pencil work, and creative portrait design.

Ayo… Wendy’s Got Beef?

Beef has long been almost essential an element of hip-hop as the it is to the fast food business but now, the two meanings have merged thanks to an inexplicable, yet ridiculously entertaining mixtape from none other than Wendy’s. That’s right, Wendy’s, the burger joint, the one that’s near-constantly bucking shots at their fry-slinging rivals on Twitter; they’ve taken all that Twitter beef, mashed down into a patty, and served up a hot, fresh helping of surprisingly deft lyrical goodness with We Beefin’?, and it’s honestly, pretty darn good.

‘Tag’: Spoiler Free Review.

‘Tag’ is a film that will make you both laugh and cry.  Myself, coming from a background of two different groups of very close friends, staying connected is extremely important.  Even with its ‘Hangover’ style antics, ’Tag’ will be quite resonant with people who have their “boys” that they have stayed connected with for the majority of their lives, and this movie has that impact on people whom share that similarity.  The first thing I noticed was the amazing soundtrack of the film, from the opening moments, you can tell that whoever picked these songs, knew what they were doing.  Even seeing the trailer alone, you think you can tell the type of film this will be, but it’s a bit different. (And luckily the trailer doesn’t give away all the best parts of the film)

The entire cast meshes well together, and there are some interesting rules to the “game” that aren’t covered in the previews.  The trailers would have you believe that this group of friends is constantly attempting to tag one another, but there is a bit of intricate teamwork involved.  Team members tag each other on purpose in order to achieve a common goal. Their specific rules aren’t expressly stated at first, but as the film moves along, you figure out the specificity of the rules.

The movie isn’t without its loose ends and unfinished plot points however.  Rashida Jones’s character is a welcomed inclusion to the cast, but her storyline has no real end, or consequence.  To speak on the end of the movie in general, there are quite a few points that are never tied up.  A bar tender dying to get into the game, is just never touched upon after a certain point, and there are several ‘Breaking and Entering’ situations that just seem to have NO consequence whatsoever.

Following the film’s conclusion, there are several shots of the real people involved in the game, which are AMAZING.  I highly recommend staying for the end credits.  (There’s a bit with an old woman that is in the film, but seeing the actual incident in real life is much more gratifying).  One of the two stand out stars of the film is Hannibal Buress, who you would wish had more to say in the film, but his lines, are simply one-liner jokes that help make the film as funny as it is. The other is Isla Fisher, (who I just realized that I have a strange crush on).  But her character Anna is a person who you wish would play the game with the guys, and when she’s able to, she is quite the competitor.

Another interesting bit is Jermey Renner, and his ability to evade his friends, using a Sherlock Holmes style mental process (The Robert Downey Jr. version) he can predict whenever he’s about to be potentially tagged.  This leads to some creative and interesting action sequences.  We KNOW from the film that the physical training from “The Avengers” is part of the reason Renner is able to do the things that he can do in the movie, much like Keaunu Reeves had the training for John Wick, because of the Matrix.  But a number of Renners evasion techniques are quite impressive.

Aside from some certain plot points that are crucial to the story-line that never come to fruition, the film is quite good. There are extra players that you never see, and the main purpose of the majority of the plot is for one character is write an article on the entire story, but you never hear anything about it when the film wraps up. There is also an interaction between two characters, that would be quite funny, but you never see anything of it.

Although this story is based on real life, there is a “dead baby” joke (and thats in quotations for a reason). But that just sort of fades away after a while, which would NEVER happen between friends.  However this script, movie, and over arching story is a good one, filled with hilarity and depth that one wouldn’t expect.  It is very much worth seeing, and the giant crowd of critics that clapped and cheered at the movies’ end would agree.

The Seamless Screen.

The poor bezel, I wonder what it ever did to us to deserve this hatred, but wow… Humans really dislike them. With every smartphone from last year trying hard to kill the bezel, Asus Rog finally designed a hack that does just that, but it isn’t for phones just yet. The Bezel Free Kit fulfills the dreams of gamers, allowing them to put together three monitors and remove the bezels between each WITHOUT using electricity or batteries). How does it do that? Refraction. The kit comes as two independent strips that can be placed between monitors. It uses a lens that ‘bends’ light in a manner that removes the bezel from view, making it look like you have one continuous screen.

The result isn’t perfect, but it’s enough to make a difference. You still notice the fact that there’s something sitting between screens, and it applies a slight blurred effect to the imagery behind it, making it good for games, but not for productivity. The Bezel Free Kit snaps right on to monitors and comes in three sizes, designed for 24″, 25″, and 32″ monitors, but you’ll need to make sure all your monitors are the same make and size, so that the lens strips can easily mount onto the displays. Scroll down to check out a video of the guys at Verge having a look at it. Wouldn’t it be fun though if your smartphone screen protector could refract light to remove your bezels?

Lil Dicky And Chris Brown Switch Bodies?!

In this HILARIOUS new video with Chris Brown and Lil Dicky, they retell the story of ‘Freaky Friday’ after voicing their disappointment with their lives.  As in any body switch movie, whoever the protagonist is, complains, becomes someone else, and realizes that things were better to begin with, but this unusual pairing take it to a whole new level.  And although the video is a bit lengthy, watch until the end, there are a few surprise cameos.  Check the method.

Avengers: Infinity War – Brand New Trailer.

Following the disappointing Superbowl TV spot, Marvel and the Russo brothers have more than redeemed themselves by dropping what will undoubtedly become one of the highest viewed trailers of all time.  Marvel can’t seem to do any wrong.  With the outrageous success of Black Panther, their next MCU entry is destined to do just as well or better.  Check the trailer out below.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald (Official Trailer).

With Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald set to focus on the rivalry between Albus Dumbledore and the villainous magician the sequel is named after, we don’t really know what role Eddie Redmayne’s magizoologist will end up playing in the J.K. Rowling penned release. However, this trailer changes that by making it clear he’ll actually be working as a proxy of sorts for his teacher.  There’s not a huge amount of Johnny Depp in the teaser (probably because a lot of fans have campaigned for him to be removed from the project after claims made by his ex-wife Amber Heard) but we do get a glimpse of his villain and a better idea of what he has planned for the Wizarding World.

The New Iron-Man… (Toys).

Hot Toys has revealed its upcoming figure based on Iron Man’s appearance in ‘Avengers: Infinity War and it provides a detailed new look at Tony Stark’s upgraded armor and the amazing weapons he’ll wield.  Spoilers below…

Avengers: Infinity War is going to feature updated looks for a lot of our favourite heroes, including Iron Man. We’ve known for a while that Tony Stark will be rocking a brand new suit of armour in the highly anticipated movie and now Hot Toys has unveiled an action figure giving us a detailed look both at its many capabilities and the various changes which have been made to the hero’s appearance here.

The figure features an interchangeable helmeted head with metallic red, gold and silver colored armor painting and a newly painted head sculpt with striking likeness, LED light-up functions scattered throughout the armor, a variety of Iron Man’s latest weapons including interchangeable LED light-up Nano Repulsor Cannon, Hand Cannon on left arm, a pair of attachable Nano Boosters on the back, and a specially designed figure stand with the movie’s logo. So, that confirms nanotechnology then.

Introducing The Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB3.

Pioneer upgraded one of their most popular Serato DJ controllers to create the 2-channel DDJ-SB3, designed for dedicated use with Serato DJ Lite (previously known as Serato DJ Intro). The new controller offers an intuitive interface for beginner DJs to craft professional performances and improve their skills.

The interface of the DDJ-SB3 is even more intuitive to use than its predecessors, inheriting traits from the layouts of the top models in the DDJ-S series including the introduction of the dedicated play and cue buttons, and the independent Auto Loop button.

In collaboration with DJ Jazzy Jeff, we’ve created Pad Scratch. The brand-new feature on the DDJ-SB3 enables you to reproduce scratches based on the legendary hip hop DJ’s own recordings by simply pressing the Performance Pads. Plus, smooth mixing is a breeze thanks to another new feature, FX Fade. You can use these features to create a professional performance, even if it’s your first time behind the decks.
