AIBS House in Ibiza

Located at an altitude of 159 meters on the rocky island cliffs of Ibiza, Spain, the AIBS House has been designed by Atelier d’Architecture Bruno Erpicum & Partners to allow the inhabitants to fully appreciate the stunning sunsets and surrounding landscape. All the main living areas feature floor-to-ceiling single frame windows which look out upon the infinity pool and terrace, both of which mimic the cliffs and sea during calm weather and act as a direct contrast during stormy weather. Inside, the 400 sqm space has been sparsely and minimally decorated so as not to draw attention away from untouched countryside.

The Wall House

Designed by Singapore-based architecture firm FARM, The Wall House is located on a large piece of sprawling land and is made up from two separate blocks which have been brought together into a coherent whole. The main block features two storeys with a main living area and master bedroom. The second is single storey and is essentially the entertainment area of the home. Linking them is a huge central courtyard with an austere granite floor and wall, as well as minimally planted willowy trees. This area, which has been described as similar to a “sparse yet artful Chinese landscape painting”, sets the tone for the rest of the home, which pulls inspiration from classical Chinese garden layouts.

Sometimes Watch By Denis Guidone

Sometimes-Brass-final sometimes-brass2

Sometimes by Italian designer Denis Guidone was produced by American brand Projects. The watch appears to have three hands: one short, one medium and one long. The medium and long hands mark the hours and minutes. However the shortest, which marks the seconds, is simply a line printed on a disk positioned at the center of the watch face. Periodically, the second ticker will align with the other two hands, joining them into one long, straight line. The Sometimes watch comes with a detachable strap that is fed through loops on the the back of the watch case.

CST-01 | The World’s Thinnest Watch

Central Standard Timing of Chicago Illinois is seeking funds to advance its working prototype of the CST-01, dubbed “The World’s Thinnest Watch” to production. As thin as a credit card (0.8mm), the CST-01 has an e-ink display which charges in 10 minutes and runs for a month. In order to make the watch as thin and minimal as possible, there are no buttons or knobs on the watch itself. Charging and setting the time is done on the base station. The CST-01 is assembled by laminating thin, flexible components into a 0.5mm pocket etched into a single piece of flexible stainless steel. It is powered by a THINERGY Micro-Energy Cell (MEC), a revolutionary, solid-state, rechargeable, thin-film micro-energy source from Infinite Power Solutions, Inc.

The Fosterlamp is a tad minimal, a touch space age and plenty mod. Easy functionality, a diminutive size and a frosted glow make it a great task light or nightstand accent. The simple design harkens back to the mid-century era and will fit into many styles of decor.
