Scott Campbell have been all over the internet for years.  His captivating pictures of fairy tale women have re-written the mental imagery of many of the stories people grew up with.  The detail and comic book style re-working of classic characters sets Campbell apart from many other illustrators.  Check the method.

Disney Cocktails?

Cocktails have always been a platform to display finesse and uniqueness with their creation.  Although themed drinks always go over well at a party or event, we’re sure few people associate children’s movies and alcoholic beverages… Cocktails by Cody, we thank you.

Aldous Massie’s Wonderland Illustrations.

9555faab06eecd37aa20691b4ea0609eIt’s rare that the writing team on this blog has a hard time finding background information on someone… but Aldous Massie has managed to pull it off.  Even tho finding some background information has been a struggle, the latest project to catch our eye from this illusive Aussie seems to be going up all over the web.  Check out Massie’s collection of Wonderland illustrations below… and more work here.

The Disney Movie Reinvented.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times… I despise putting work up, and having no idea what-so-ever who it’s from.  That being said, in rare cases, the work is just so dope, I have no choice but to show it off regardless.  These set of re-tooled Disney movie posters are beyond dope.  There aren’t too many other words to describe them.  They perfectly prove the point of the original story, and in some of the 10 cases, bring out a darker, more sinister side of the tale (like the Lion King, or the Bambi posters).  Whoever made these, I’m super impressed.

Minimalistic Fairy Tales.

If the posters for the well-known fairy tales do in a minimalist style …

Eat Down The Rabbit Hole.

All ‘Alice in Wonderland’ fans can witness the magic of Fantastic Design Works Co.’s new Alice In Wonderland inspired restaurant in Tokyo. The entire story unfolds within the walls of the 2,000 sq. ft. restaurant, from beginning to end. Upon entrance, guests are graced with oversized vintage books, mirrored walls, and polished checkered floors. Making your way to your table, you will find that larger than life grass hedges encase each table. Dramatic theatrical elements are in play throughout the entire space accompanied by intense lighting, various spots of color on the ceiling, and table napkins that sit upright, threatening to march away at any given moment. Fantastic Design Works Co. designed a private dining room that’s fit for a queen! The queen of hearts and the rest of her deck is the main theme of the intimate dining space. The restaurant is an acutely literal take on the 1951 animated movie as it is divided into themed sections that reflect certain scenes from the film. If you are in the Tokyo area stop by for a bite, you never know where it could lead you.

Now THAT is a Princess

Ok, so normally I have my opinion about a topic, and it pretty much ends there.  But when the comic book illustrator J Scott Campbell re-thought the Disney princesses, I figured I’d ask some of you guys which one you think is the best.  My personal favorite… Cinderella, followed swiftly by Arielle from The Little Mermaid.  But let me know what you guys think.

Snow White

The Little Mermaid

Sleeping Beauty

Alice In Wonderland

Beauty And The Beast

Cinderella

Tinkerbell

Maleficent
