It’s the 3rd day of 2015, and some people are still stuck in last year. But Skillz has given folks a way to look back at 2014 in his now traditional “Wrap Up”. Starting in 2002, and “ending” in 2012, a 1 year hiatus was enough, and Skillz is back with his legendary track, summarizing the previous year. Other artists have attempted to do their own “rap ups”, but Skillz is still the most thorough, funny, and all encompassing version. Check the method below.
Every year since 2007, DJ Earworm has taken the calendar year’s 25 biggest pop songs and combined them into an incredibly popular, joyfully constructed mash-up, perennially dubbed the “United State of Pop.” Earworm has been analyzing the Billboard charts since he was a kid, and for “Do What You Wanna Do,” the 2014 edition of Earworm’s single-length mega-mix. Halloween is fast approaching, and the city of San Francisco is known for its outlandish celebrations of the occasion. From grown business men and women dressing in costume all day, to the infamous Castro block parties that used to run the city, All Hallows Eve is something major to look forward to if you’re a social being in the city. This year the Set4Life event HallowFest is going down a Club Luxx, a brand new venue featuring two giant rooms, (Hip Hop, and EDM) and a buffet of music artists and DJ’s to keep the crowd rocking until 3 am. Drexel University professor Frank Lee took over the side of the 29-story Cira Centre in Philadelphia last year to play a gigantic game of Pong, setting the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Architectural Video Game Display.” Last night he doubled the record with a massive game of Tetris. Controlled by joysticks conneted to the building’s LED lights via 4G wireless, this particular Tetris game was a competitive affair, with two teams playing on the north and south sides of the building. When one team cleared a row, the other team would get more blocks dropped on their play-field. Trash-talking was kept to a minimum, as the teams were a mile away from each other.
Swiss car modifier FAB Design has presented the Spidron, a souped-up version of the Lamborghini Aventador with a lime green livery, a unique aerodynamic package and an additional 70hp. FAB Design has equipped the Lamborghini Avendator with additional air intakes, new aerodynamic elements in the rear, new wheels and a new carbon fiber rear wing. Thanks to a new engine configuration and the addition of specially adapted sport air filters, FAB Design claims to have boosted the supercar’s total power to 770hp, compared to 700hp for the factory-issued Aventador. The modifier also claims that the Lamborghini Aventador Spidron accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The tuner car is available through FAB Design for €430,000 (around $592,000) plus tax. The first deliveries are expected to go out this June.

As time draws closer and closer for yet another classic movie to be re-invented on the big screen, fans of the original Ninja Turtles movies are being split into two groups. Those who welcome a reinvention of a classic franchise, and those who dread its existence. The first trailer for the new Turtles movie just dropped today, and as an avid fan since I was a young boy, I’m not sure which side I fall on. Certain facts, for example, that Michael Bay is producing, and not even directing, the knowledge that it’s a Nickelodeon movie, and that the Turtles (in the first trailer) take off their masks are all things that may be off-puting. But the true essence of brotherhood, vigilance, and the dynamics between the four main characters is all still there and in tact. The famed hip-hop artist has self-designed Kithaus, with the help of TV host and interior designer of HGTV’s Emily Henderson, for the world’s leading community driven hospitality company’s ‘airbnb park’ venue at SXSW 2014. The temporary dwelling by Snoop Dogg is indicative of his personal style, complete with reflective gold walls printed with marijauna leaves and scalloped graphic pattern, arne jacobsen ‘egg chair’ in red leather, and a bold sign hanging above the tufted blue velvet sofa that reads ‘BO$$’ – an expression of luxury on a more humble scale. The pop-up house consists of two programs – a main living room, and a separate more private space joined by a covered deck. the landscaping and exterior details include a façade in robin egg’s blue, and a gold mailbox with ‘SNOOP’ outlined in gems.
Karl Lagerfeld turns Grand Palais into giant supermarket to debut Chanel’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. The unusual catwalk show is part of Paris Fashion Week 2014, and featured Lagerfeld’s muse Cara Delevigne. Princess Sirivannavari of Thailand browsed breakfast cereals in a tiara; Keira Knightley lingered by the cheese counter; Rihanna looked glamorous over by biscuits and cakes. Guests trailed the aisles in amazement: condiments, pastas, oils and vinegars, cheeses and charcuterie, brooms and dusters, buckets and mops.
We can now call it official as the first ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ trailer has been released. The latest installment in the franchise is directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, taking us on the same wild black and white ride that made the first one famous. The movie is packed with a ton of big names that includes the likes of Josh Brolin, Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, and a whole lot more. Thew new ‘Sin City’ film has been given a release date of August 22nd, 2014.
Diplo has had some extremely impressive collaborative credits under his belt, some of which may even border on unusual. But regardless of which Diplo produced songs you like, and which you may not prefer, ‘Biggie Bounce’ is one to check out. The track itself stands alone, but the style, concept, and execution of the video is unique in a way that’s more than noteworthy. Check the method below.
U.S. based auto maker Ford has officially unveiled their latest limited edition model in the 2014 Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe The Black Edition. This 2-door sports car is drenched in a jet black paint job, and the blacked-out theme continues all throughout. The 19-inch aluminum wheels have been finished off with black accents, and the entire interior is black as well. The Black edition Mustang also features a three-layer structured glass roof that blocks 90 percent of infrared rays along with 96 percent of ultraviolet rays. Now for the good stuff. This Mustang is packed with a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine that puts down 426 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed automatic transmission (unfortunately no manual version is available). The vehicle is limited to just 40 units, will only be available in Japan, and will sell for roughly $50,000 when it releases on March 15th.
This season’s Prada video shows off the Steven Meisel-shot stars of the Spring-Summer 2014 campaign as slickly dressed fashion spectators. The stylish cast of up-and-coming models act out a series of imaginary events, from sports to movies, to concerts. It starts with a game of imaginary tennis, complete with candy pink balls and homemade sound effects, before moving to a movie theater with 3D glasses and colored popcorn.
Since I was a wee lad, Godzilla, had been an interesting concept to me, but not one that I ever followed too closely. Then, the 2000 American incarnation of the classic attracted me to the worlds “biggest” monster. Since Mathew Broderic and crew battling the behemoth in New York City, became one of my favorite movies, I’ve looked forward to a sequel. (All I got was the animated series on Fox, but beggars can’t be choosers.) Now that the re-boot is around the corner, the first trailer has surfaced. Meet the 2014 SRT Viper GTS Anodized Carbon Edition. Still powered by the same naturally aspirated 8.4 liter V10, it’s in the details where this thing really shines. The 2-door sports car has been drenched in a metallic matte paint job (unique to this particular Viper), contrasting bright orange brake calipers, carbon fiber hits throughout both the exterior and interior cabin of the vehicle, and Nappa leather paired with Alcantara seats within the cabin. For those of you looking to park this beauty in your garage, you best act fast, because this Viper is limited to just 50 units.
Utilizing high-speed techniques, photographer Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz has created incredible pin-ups, snapping the models just as milk covers them to give the impression of clothing. The photos are for a 2014 “Milky Pin-Ups Calendar” that will be available in November.
According to some recent reports in the German press, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has seemingly come to the end of the line. The production of the big super-coupe and convertible – which was unveiled in 2009, and launched in the markets in 2010 – will reportedly end in January 2014. However, buyers looking for a brand-new SLS after the end of the vehicle’s production in January will still be able to go in for the top Black Series model, which will probably continue to stay in production till June. Despite the fact that the media reports about the impending discontinuation of the SLS have, thus far, not been confirmed Mercedes AMG, it is widely speculated that the automaker is seemingly preparing to commence the production of its next hero car — likely to be dubbed SLC. The new SLC model – which is internally known at Mercedes AMG as the C190 – will probably be a smaller and lighter vehicle than the SLS. The reason behind the move is the fact that Mercedes AMG is possibly looking to offer a more nimble model which can challenge the Porsche 911. Other than being smaller and lighter as compared to the SLS, the new SLC model will also reportedly be offered with notably different powertrain options; so that a more affordable base model of the car can be provided to the customers.
The new Robocop trailer is out. In the film, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before. The trailer even goes on to explain what some fans were worried about… Robocop’s new black suit, and why it was so vastly different from the original. Check it out below.
At the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H for this years ComicCon San Diego, writer/director Joss Whedon took to the stage to announce that the official title for the sequel to The Avengers will be Avengers: Age of Ultron. Whedon also revealed a brief logo teaser for the film. Age Of Ultron features favorites from the first “Avengers” film and new Marvel characters never before seen on the big screen. Avengers: Age of Ultron is slated to begin production in March 2014 and open in theaters on May 1, 2015.
Conceived as a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini – the ‘ Lamborghini Veneno’ – presented at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show – is a unique limited edition model, which will only see three produced worldwide. Featuring a 6.5 liter 750 horsepower V12 engine, the fighting bull can launch from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds when coupled with its 7-speed ISR Racing Transmission – achieving a top speed of 355 km/h. Weighing just under 1,450 kgs – 125 kilograms lighter than the Aventador – the new development extensively utilizes carbon-fiber materials, with the complete chassis produced as a CFRP monocoque, as with the exterior. Laid out for perfect airflow and downforce, the front end works as a large aerodynamic wing: large channels guide the air to the outlets in the hood and windshield, as well as to the front wheels. Angular Y-shaped headlamps reach well into the fenders as well as the scissor doors.
The first trailer has appeared for Saving Mr Banks starring Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell, and Jason Schwartzman. Disney Channel has ordered “Girl Meets World,” a comedy series from executive producer Michael Jacobs (“Boy Meets World”). Starring are 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard (Spy Kids: All The Time in the World) as the girl — Riley Matthews — 14-year-old Sabrina Carpenter (“Sofia the First”) as her best friend Maya, and Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage reprising the Cory and Topanga roles they made famous in ABC’s popular sitcom “Boy Meets World” (1993-2000).
The announcement was made today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. Production on the multi-camera series will begin this summer in Los Angeles for a scheduled 2014 premiere on Disney Channel. Bonnett said, “Boy Meets World’ and its story of adolescent self discovery resonated with an entire generation of tweens. In the same way audiences fell in love with Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, we look forward to introducing our viewers to their daughter Riley Matthews in ‘Girl Meets World’ and building a memorable connection with a whole new generation of fans.”
Set in New York City, the new comedy series will tell the wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that “Boy Meets World” is renowned for — only this time from a tween girl’s perspective — as the curious and bright 7th grader, Riley, and her quick-witted friend Maya embark on an unforgettable middle school experience. But their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley’s dad who’s also a faculty member (and their new History teacher) and Riley’s mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding.
Jacobs said, “I am grateful to everyone at Disney Channel for the opportunity to reach my favorite audience, which has always been kids.’Girl Meets World’ is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made ‘Boy Meets World’ so popular.” The series was created by Michael Jacobs (“Boy Meets World,” “Dinosaurs,” “My Two Dads,” “Charles in Charge”) and April Kelly (“Boy Meets World”) and is executive-produced by Jacobs. “Girl Meets World” is from It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-G parental guideline.
Someone might be disappointed that the engine power to the XKR-S has not changed. But the body has changed – it added carbon lollipops, splitter under the front bumper, deflectors around the fenders and rear delivers large wing. Maximum speed remains limited to 300 km/h. The acceleration takes it from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Power transfer to the road to remain in charge and ZF six-speed automatic electronically controlled limited slip active differential. Another novelty is carbon-ceramic brakes, used by Jaguar for the first time. The front wheels have a diameter of 398 mm, rear 380 mm – thanks to them reduced unsprung masses by 21 kg. Jaguar offered only 25 pieces (five in Canada and rest in USA).
