The upcoming Max Original Harry Potter TV reboot will take a deep dive into the beloved book series, with each season focusing on one of the seven iconic novels. Spanning over 10 years, the series will provide a fresh take on the magical world that fans have cherished for years, even though it’s said to follow a “1 book, 1 season” structure.
Talks about the Harry Potter reboot have been ongoing for years. In January 2021, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that HBO Max was actively searching for a writer for the project. The franchise continues to thrive with hits like the Wizarding World theme park, the Cursed Child stage production, the Fantastic Beasts spinoffs, and the popular video game Hogwarts Legacy. Now, Succession duo Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod have joined the project, with Gardiner as showrunner and Mylod directing multiple episodes, both serving as executive producers.
