This has nothing to do with Warner Bros. planned sequel not being directed by either of the Watchoski’s. But by golly if it’s not just dope to see this now classic cinematic universe retooled in the style of Japanese 2D animation. The Matrix has been ingrained in the brain since 1999, and doesn’t show any signs of going away, regardless if they pile and additional films onto the franchise or not. That being the case, the artist Maelstrom has cooked up a kitchens worth of crazy illustrations that are soon to become a trailer. But check out the photos for now.
