In today’s society, it’s easy to forget about eating the right things. There’s often a time I’ll find myself making a sandwich and look to the fridge for inspiration, only to be greeted with empty shelves and a packet of ham…bleak. I may be lucky to have a bag of mixed salad leaves which have not held up. With the use of urban gardens, aeroponics, and hydroponics – healthy eating is now more accessible as ever. The AeroGarden Harvest Touch set out to make sure big city living, with all of the hustle and bustle, doesn’t mean neglecting the importance of a balanced diet.
Diet isn’t the only importance regarding urban gardening, it’s a hugely important aspect in the future of sustainable farming. The overall design for the indoor garden is warm and approachable. The form doesn’t threaten to dominate the interior layout/design of its environment. The indoor garden greets you with a large 360 open view space – which not only gives the impression of the garden taking up less space that one thinks but also giving the user a quick ‘one glance’ update on progress/growth.
AeroGarden’s Harvest Touch was designed to integrate seamlessly into a city dwelling environment, allowing anyone to grow their very own vegetables at home. The system is soil free and harnesses its growth through the use of 100 high power performance LED lights, enough for optimal growing conditions year round while sitting nicely on your countertop. There is an intuitive LCD display to help the user through every step of the way.
Beginning with a very well worded monologue from Everett Ross, the newest look at Black Panther establishes that even with gods flying, and aliens dropping from the sky… no one has ever seen anything like Wakanda. I personally feel like the choice of song could be a TAD bit better, but this new preview gives us a look at various suits (and a REALLY amazing effect when the wearer activates them), some extensions on action beats from the previous trailer, and more questions about this African nation that you can shake a vibranium stick at. Check the method below.
Bloomsbury for Nylon Magazine, starring Elizabeth Morley. Styled by Christine Baker, hair by Rick Grandone, make up by Mia Yang and nails by Kait Mosh. Floral arrangements by Yasmine Khatib.
Captain Phasma does a thing! The newest trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is filled with many a shock, lots of surprise, and quite a bit of questions left to be answered. I had a full blown tribunal discussion with a good friend of mine after he showed me this, but whether you’re a massive Star Wars fan, or you could take it or leave it, this is an amazing preview for what I’m sure will be an amazing addition to the Star Wars legacy. Check the method.
Spanish singer Serafin Zubiri, has an incredible visual designer behind him. The work of Mikel Muruzabal speaks volumes about the talent and sophistication that went into these truly unique photos. Using CGI to adapt the spaces, shapes and colors to each scene, these “floating photos” are absolutely a sight to behold.
A few months ago I bought my best friend’s kid a Nintendo Switch, and was actually jealous. With the announcement of Super Mario Odyssey, I remember the first time Super Mario 64 blew my mind. Having watched this video, I’m convinced that the team behind this game has made a groundbreaking and immensely enjoyable platformer. The use of Cappy as a platforming tool as well as its applications in combat situations is very inventive. I look forward to getting my hands on this at some point in the near future. Super Mario Odyssey will be released on October 27th exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, check out the overview video below.
With the release of Justice League in just a month’s time, the movie’s marketing is about to come into full effect. This featurette reveals the decisions Zack Snyder and his team took in selecting cars that reflect the characters of Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne. Diana will drive an E- Class Cabriolet while Bruce will get behind the wheel of the Vision Gran Turismo – a concept car created specifically for the Gran Turismo video game. Some footage of the cast on set can also be seen. Check the method below.
Netflix is doubling down on the superhero genre and they’re looking to tell original stories outside of their Marvel Netflix shows. However, they’re turning to a Marvel Studios actor to spearhead their latest project. Michael B. Jordan will co-star and executive produce a 10-episode series titled Raising Dion. The series will be based on a 2015 short film of the same name, which you can check out below. This short was created by music video director Dennis Liu (Sia – You’ve Changed, Justin Timberlake – Not A Bad Thing) who provided an official statement in a press release.
“I started this project many years ago because I wanted to see more diverse representation on film and television and I’m excited to partner with Netflix and MACRO, who I know shares that commitment. More than ever, we need more stories told from different points of view and my hope with Raising Dion is to create a cinematic experience for all families that will lift your spirits and make you laugh and cry.”
As an amateur stand up comic, watching stand up specials, going to stand up shows, and introducing myself to comedians I never knew of, Ralphie May was one of the biggest surprises I could have received. I don’t mean biggest as in his weight, I mean that Ralphie May’s comedy as a southern, caucasian, 40-something comic was extremely relatable, true to life, and over all hilarious. Today, October 6th, died of cardiac arrest after battling pneumonia for several weeks on October 6, 2017 at the age of 45. The comic community is undoubtedly saddened by this, as am I. Rest In Peace Ralphie. (You can catch some of his specials on Netflix, and I’m sure more will be out soon, giving his passing.)
Just a little bit about him… Ralphie was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, but raised in Clarksville, Arkansas. At age 16, he broke 42 bones in his body in an automobile accident. When he was 17 he won a contest to open for comedian Sam Kinison, whom he considered his idol. Kinison suggested that May move to Houston, Texas to further develop his comedy routine. May graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment, and as those of us in the comedy community know, was QUITE successful.
When it comes to unique character designs, and just all around dope artwork, Sasha Korenev is second to none. The collection titled “Creepy Things” is one of many collections, and features some dope artwork starting off with a rendition of Pennywise The Clown (from “It”). Check the collection below.
More than just individual characters, the collages and pattern designs of Sasha’s work has always fascinated up, check it out.
Much like when Batman disappears for an extended period of time, friends of this blog have begun to get very worried. For several months now, life has been a bit up and down for not just myself, but the writers of this site in general. We know subscribers noticed when things somewhat trailed off, and then came to a complete halt. Now that things have calmed down quite a bit, we’re going to slowly start back up again, hopefully by next month, we’ll be back to 10 or so posts a day of new music, art, “sciency stuff”, movie news, and the like. So please do your best to bear with us, as we all get back up on this horse and continue the ride. Also although he asked not to be named, I still want to give a warm shout out to our newest writer on the team.
