So my assistant put me onto the photographer Susanna Majuri. She’s got many an impressive collection, but the one of hers that stands out to me the most is her collection of “water-photos”. The way every single photo seems to tell a very unique story is amazing. Majuri doesn’t take the “easy” route of snapping underwater photos, she uses the water as a carefully thought out, and masterfully executed effect. In certain shots, the water is a simple part of the picture, in others it can almost take the form of a character in whatever story the photo is telling, and sometimes its just used to warp the focal point or create an amazing effect on the negative space. All the “water-photos” I’ve seen from Susanna Majuri all look unique and amazing in an area where other photographers may barley break the barrier of generic at best if they just shot underwater.
