So to be totally honest, I’ve been listening to this song on repeat while compiling the information for/writing the last 3 or 4 posts. (So I’ve heard it no less than 40 times.) The song strikes a very unique cord, and illuminates some of the previously unknown relationship between Eminem and Dr. Dre. I know I’ve been waiting for Dre’s album Detox since I was in high school or something ridiculous like that, and no one has gotten a straight answer as to why it’s taken so long to produce. But Em voices his opinion on Dre’s mindset, as well as some of his thoughts on the relationship between them. Dre on the other hand goes on to speak on how he feels about certain un-named individuals in the industry, and makes it official that after ‘Detox’ drops, that the Dr. will no longer be in the house. Liz Rodrigues adds an amazing chorus that gives the song a completeness of concept that I don’t think any other conceivable singer could have delivered as well.
