The 2018 MTV Movie Award Winners.

Wakanda Forever! We’re still a long way from next year’s Academy Awards but comic book fans are already hoping that Black Panther will be recognised at the ceremony (making it the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nod since The Dark Knight). Regardless, the Marvel Studios movie dominated at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards picking up a number of huge wins at the show.

Stranger Things, meanwhile, took charge of the television field. That’s no great surprise giving its popularity but an argument could definitely be made that the second season wasn’t quite up there with the first! Going back to Black Panther, it’s great to see the movie receive so many awards and it just goes to show that it resonated with moviegoers in a big way. Did you catch the ceremony?

Dai Macedo Has Brazil’s Best Booty.

IFOT_66878

A 25-year-old model with a 42-inch bottom has been crowned Brazil’s new Miss Bum Bum.  Dai Macedo, who represented the central state of Goias in the nationwide search for the woman with the most bodacious butt in all of Brazil, was chosen from among 15 finalists by the contest’s grand jury in Sao Paolo this week.  “It’s a lot of work, a lot of devotion,” Macedo told Agence France-Presse by way of an interpreter. “I denied myself a lot of things. No nightclubs. No sweets. I went to the gym Saturdays and Sundays.”  The sacrifice is well worth it. Miss Bum Bum winners become instant celebrities in Brazil, and receive a fortune in endorsements.  But the glamor comes with its share of drama. Earlier this year, a columnist for Brazilian newspaper O Dia accused Miss Bum Bum contestants Mari Sousa and Eliana Amaral of bribing judges in attempts to win.

In a note published in October, well in advance of the winners being announced, the newspaper reported that Sousa had secured top honors by paying thousands of dollars to judges. It also claimed Amaral paid $32,000 to judges and would come in second.  Those ethically suspect predictions did not pan out (although Amaral was awarded third place), but even the future bum-bum queen became embroiled in the scandal at the time. Angered by the accusations, Macedo joined other contestants in lashing out against corruption in Miss Bum Bum via social media, according to News.co.au.  Macedo distanced herself from the outburst after winning the competition.  “I’m all emotional. I didn’t expect to win,” Macedo said, according to News.co.au. “All hell broke loose on social media sites but now I can say the contest was real.”

The Naked Ninja Warrior.

MV5BMTU5MTQzODY2N15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzA3NjI4Nw@@._V1._SX600_SY338_The Japanese and American people have quite a few inalienable differences, but one thing that seems to be a small guilty pleasure for both countries is the ‘Ninja Warrior’ competition.  For those who have never seen it, it’s a grueling obstacle course that would test the physical limits of ANY man, woman, or child from any country, or any background on the planet.  Japanese competitors do it for honor, and American’s do it for money, but the cult following behind the show is growing by the day.  Which is why I can only assume that someone would try to complete part of the course naked… for fame.

Being Elmo.

Puppeteering isn’t necessarily on one of my most respected professions list, but Jim Hensen and the minds behind Sesame Street have no doubt influenced tons of children around the globe (including myself).  That being said, I never really felt the need to look into what exactly it takes to create such characters, or the people who fill their shoes every time the camera comes on… Until my boy DeLuv showed me this video.

The Nissan GT Academy.

In my mind, there are primarily two types of serious video gamers out there… The ones who play games because they perform some of those actions in real life (football players that play Madden, ball players who play NBA Live, marines who play Call Of Duty, etc.) and then there are the type of gamers who play games because they imagine one day they’d have the skills to perform some actions in real life.  However, there does come the rare occasion when gamers who have no real life training in something play game long enough, and for so well, that they actually become capable of pulling off some of their digital tricks in real life.  Coincidentally Nissan recognized this with a few champions of Grand Turismo 5.  The game is so life like, the cars so well tuned, and the mechanics so close to the real thing, they’ve chosen a select few to compete in REAL cars for a spot on the professional Nissan racing team.  Check the method below.

Want A Date With Scarlett Jo?

Among the hundreds of lots on offer at Christie’s September wine auction in Hong Kong this month, there’s one in particular that will appeal to more than just wine lovers.  The winning bid for Lot No. 519 will receive a lunch date with Scarlett Johansson and six bottles of 100-year-old Moët et Chandon champagne packed in a special Louis Vuitton leather chest.  The lot is estimated to be worth 380,000 to 500,000 Hong Kong dollars (US$48,700 to $64,100). The proceeds of the sale will go to the Nature Conservancy in China.  Christie’s said that the idea behind the charity lot came from Moët et Chandon itself, which currently retains Ms. Johansson as a celebrity endorser.

Dream Big, Hustle Hard.

Rob Scott & Carlo P

Its only every so often you see an artist with the potential to take over the world before he’s started, but Rob Scott is a name that some may not have heard, but will be familiar with very soon. A couple of my boys accompanied Rob Scott to Miami for the “Dream Big, Hustle Hard” Showcase, and were not the least bit suprised when he swept the competition. Check the video below. Shout outs to Rob Ru, Jose B., Carlo P., and Rob Scott, and don’t forget to listen for Rob’s music on ‘Cocktails & Condoms’.
