Official Unveiling of the Simpsons LEGO Set

LEGO has finally unveiled the official “Simpsons” LEGO brick set. Created in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, the set will allow fans to build and recreate their very own version of The Simpsons house. The set will only go on sale on 1st February 2014. The toy company will also be releasing a set of Simpsons minifigs in May. The set will be priced at US$200, while the minifigs will go at $4 each. The set will feature the entire Simpson’s house, and minifigs of the show’s main characters, namely Homer, Bart, Marge, Maggie, Lisa and Ned Flanders.

New Statue Images Show Off The Avengers’ Mark VII Iron Man Armor.


Kotobukiya, a Japanese toy company beloved for its dolls and statues, has released, through their Facebook page, new images of their upcoming Iron Man Mark VII statue design, which will be featured on the big sceen in May 4th’s Marvel’s The Avengers. The official description of the model is as follows:

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! After the amazing success and popularity of the Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America films, Marvel is preparing to unleash the greatest superhero team of all time in just a few short months. Gathering together the main characters of the previous films to defend the Earth from certain destruction, the Avengers will debut in May of 2012 with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark and his heroic alter ego Iron Man. To commemorate the triumphant new appearance of this iconic character, Kotobukiya is proud to announce the all-new Avengers Movie Iron Man Mark VII ARTFX Statue!
 
After surviving imprisonment by terrorists, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark created the Mark II armor suit. This was followed up soon after by the iconic Mark III suit used to battle Stane and his Iron Monger suit at the culmination of the first film, and the upgraded Mark IV armor in the sequel. Never one to rest on his laurels, Tony has brought his science and technology to a whole new cutting edge with the Mark VII Iron Man, the most advanced high-tech personal armor suit on the planet. Using new 3D sculpting techniques, Kotobukiya has created the finest and most exciting ARTFX statue of any Iron Man, bringing more fine detailing than previous hand-sculpted releases for a more dynamic display. Tony stands in a classic Iron Man pose, legs planted and arms held back as he prepares to unleash a devastating strike. The Worlds Most Expensive Toy Car.


I’m not necessarily into toys, but this one got me…  Hailed the world’s most expensive and precious car model by Guinness World Records, this creation is based on the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.  The car was crafted by Robert Gülpen — who has also created miniatures of the Mercedes Benz 500 SL and Aston Martin DB5 from precious metals and gems.  The Lamborghini is made from carbon fibre like the original and its shell was milled using computer modelling data handed over from the Italian car manufacturer.  But, adds Gülpen, he wrapped a 1/1000mm thin thread of solid gold around the carbon fibres — a feature the original doesn’t boast.  The tyre rims have been cast from solid gold and platinum as has the entire interior, while diamonds have been inserted into the seat, headlights and steering wheel.  Sotheby’s will auction the car in December in either New York or Dubai with bids starting at $4.7 million.
