Karl Lagerfeld turns Grand Palais into giant supermarket to debut Chanel’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. The unusual catwalk show is part of Paris Fashion Week 2014, and featured Lagerfeld’s muse Cara Delevigne. Princess Sirivannavari of Thailand browsed breakfast cereals in a tiara; Keira Knightley lingered by the cheese counter; Rihanna looked glamorous over by biscuits and cakes. Guests trailed the aisles in amazement: condiments, pastas, oils and vinegars, cheeses and charcuterie, brooms and dusters, buckets and mops.

Rihanna – What Now

8235997934_437b35db84_z

Rihanna premieres the music video for “What Now,” the fifth single from her latest album, Unapologetic. Directed by Darren Craig, Jeff Nicholas and Jonathan Craven, in the short, shot in Phuket, Thailand, a goth-inspired Rihanna looks “demented” while singing in a dimmed room.

“It’s going to be kind of eerie, very creepy because ‘What Now’ is one of those songs that you can get really boring with the visual,” states Rihanna in the BTS. “Everybody is probably expecting a narrative video and a love story of some sort, and something really soft and pretty. It is kind of soft but it’s really a little demented.”

The 10 most Instagrammed places of 2012

Suvarnabhumi-International-Airport

Instagram, the photo-sharing app, has released a list of the most photographed places in the world via the app in 2012, with Suvarnabhumi Airport topping the chart.According to IG, over 100,000 photos were taken via Instagram at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, over the last year, making it a surprise winner.Interestingly another Bangkok landmark, the Siam Paragon shopping mall, took second place in Instagram’s most photographed places in 2012

Overall, locations in the US were popular among Instagram users, with American landmarks occupying seven of the top ten locations, including five in Southern California. Strangely enough, landmarks that have been a traditional favorite for photographers such as the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin or London’s Big Ben did not appear on the list, though Paris’s Eiffel Tower did make an appearance in eighth place — behind Dodger Stadium and LAX.

The top ten most photographed places in the world via Instagram in 2012 were:

01.    Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) Bangkok, Thailand
02.    Siam Paragon (shopping mall) Bangkok, Thailand
03.    Disneyland Park Anaheim, California, USA
04.    Times Square New York City, New York, USA
05.    AT&T Park San Francisco, California, USA
06.    Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), California, USA
07.    Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California, USA
08.    Eiffel Tower, Paris, France
09.    Staples Center, Los Angeles, California, USA
10.    Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, California, USA

The Floating Theater.

For a new film festival in Thailand called Film on the Rocks Yao Noi, an outdoor cinema was constructed in the most unlikely of places: right on top of the water.  The amazing venue is called the Archipelago Cinema and is tucked away inside a bay surrounded by towering island rocks and lush jungle plants.

For the final night of the Film Festival earlier this month, guests were taken by boat to savor a final screening on this floating cinema designed by Beijing-based architect Ole Scheeren.

The Archipelago Cinema  consisted of a floating screen, cradled between two towering rocks, and a separate raft-like auditorium. The cinema was crafted out of recycled materials, and its modular construction allows for flexibility and future reuse.

The Festival, which took place from 9th- 12th March 2012, is set to become an annual meeting place for art and film.
And festival or not, this is for sure one of the coolest destinations I’ve seen in a long, long time.

How Do You Say Mansion In Thai?

Listed at a cool $280,000,000.00 THB (Thailand Baht) or approx. $8.66 million USD, this gorgeous 4-bedroom villa can be yours today! A beautiful oceanfront property on the beach of Kamala in Phuket, Thailand; this property resides on a secluded stretch of coastline on the western part of the coast. I couldn’t find much information on the residence beyond what was available from the listing and most of the content was just fluff about tranquility and the timelessness of the design.  Thankfully there’s plenty of pretty pictures for you to draw your own conclusions.  It makes me want to go back to Thailand that’s for sure! Various tidbits of information sprinkled throughout, enjoy.

Hilton Pattaya Floating Hotel in Thailand

The Hilton Pattaya, which opened Nov. 29, is located about 100 miles southeast of Bangkok and offers a “floating” beachfront experience.  The 302-room new-build, upscale and full-service hotel enjoys a prime location on Pattaya Beach, one of Thailand‘s most popular family resort destinations.  One of my good friends, the lovely Sarah Chun spends time out there every so often, and I’m dying to roll to this place with her.  The fourth Hilton-branded property in the country, Hilton Pattaya offers amazing 180-degree views and the vacation destination’s only rooftop sky venue.  “Our presence in Asia Pacific continues to grow rapidly with the opening of Hilton Pattaya, a stunning property overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.  This hotel combines signature Hilton style and service with one of Asia’s largest luxury beachfront shopping and entertainment centers.  With an exclusive ground floor entrance, the main lobby of Hilton Pattaya is on Level 16, with guest rooms and suites located from Level 19 up to Level 33 of the hotel tower.  All rooms have been designed with the property’s beachfront location in mind, offering stunning 180-degree views of Pattaya Bay from individual private balconies.  Suites offer floor-to-ceiling windows and separate living and dining areas, while many feature outdoor bathtubs on private balconies.  The resort houses three restaurants offering spectacular views of Pattaya Bay and Pattaya City, including the only rooftop sky venue in the resort town, which will begin operations in early 2011, a lobby lounge bar and a poolside restaurant, as well as 24-hour room service.”  There are also wellness facilities such as a spa, an outdoor infinity edge swimming pool and a health club, set among a landscaped garden, fancy huh?
