Jon Olssons Winter Ready Audi Rs6 Wagon

Jon-Olssons-Winter-Ready-Audi-RS6-Wagon-1

Professional skier Jon Olsson has become quite famous among automotive enthusiasts due to his customized supercars built specifically for the slopes. Olsson’s 2014 winter project may be a bit more subtle than some of his others. He says the Audi RS6 Wagon is one of the most impressive vehicles he’s ever driven in stock form. In fact, he said the only car that came close was the Agera R. For that reason, the Swedish skier chose to trick out one of these 5-doors, giving the all-wheel drive wagon a winter inspired paint job, H&R suspension, and Milltek exhaust. Of course Jon is far from finished. This is a new project car, and he has left the vehicle with the folks at Stertman Motorsport to really take this thing to next level.

Vertu Ti Ferrari Smartphone

Vertu-Ti-Ferrari-smartphone

Vertu has expanded its Ti line with a luxury smartphone whose design was inspired by the Ferrari F12 berlinetta. A limited edition of 2,013 smartphones will be produced and sold. The new Vertu Ti Ferrari is the result of a close collaboration between the luxury phone maker and the luxury sports car brand. Ferrari has supplied some of the red and black leather used in the seats of its sports cars for the leather accents along the smartphone’s casing. Vertu, in turn, has treated and conditioned the leather to ensure it will withstand the constant handling a smartphone is subject to. The smartphone’s casing is made of diamond-like carbon (DLC), a lightweight material ten times stronger than stainless steel, which Ferrari uses to protect its motors from extreme heat and friction. The back of the device is modeled after the aerodynamic lines of the F12 berlinetta, while the position of the supercar’s headlights is echoed in the position of the phone’s camera. The Vertu Ti Ferrari’s feature set is not particularly impressive. Equipped with a 3.7-inch screen, an 8MP photo camera at the back and a 1.3MP front camera for video chats, the smartphone runs under Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is equipped with Bluetooth, wifi and 3G+ connectivity. The start screen of the Vertu Ti Ferrari features the signature colors of the famous Italian car maker, and the Vertu for Ferrari App provides access to the latest Ferrari news from the brand’s social network pages and the automotive trade press. The on-screen clock is modeled after the F12 berlinetta’s tachometer, and the four available ringtones purr with the sound of the grand tourer’s V12 engine.

The Hamann-McLaren-MP4-12C.

The memoR combines bespoke paint and carbon fiber body work to bring an even greater air of exclusivity to the standard McLaren MP4-12C supercar.  Since its official launch in 2011, the McLaren MP4-12C supercar has been covered with praise for its phenomenal speed and handling, and yet some in the motoring press have been slightly critical of its looks, suggesting that compared to its two biggest competitors — the outrageously styled Lamborghini Aventador and the angry lines of the Ferrari 458 Italia — the McLaren is a bit of a wallflower.  However, all of that is about to change. For the sum of €95,000 on top of the €200,000 standard retail price, HAMANN Motorsport is offering an extreme makeover that will not only make the McLaren stand out from other supercars, but from pretty much everything else on the street.

Lamborghini Is Moving To China?

China looks set to claim another crown in the battle for supremacy in the luxury markets of the world as the country’s interest in supercars continues to grow.  China knocked the United States off its perch as the world’s leading car market two years ago – sales there now surpass 18.26 million units per year.  It seems that tastes in the country are turning now to the very high-end of the auto market, an area long dominated by the Americans.  Italian carmaker Lamborghini says it sold 138 cars in mainland China over the first six months of this year – a 60 percent rise from the same period last year – and the company believes it will move more than 300 cars “at the least” by the end of 2011.  The rise in sales comes after Lamborghini moved 206 cars in China last year, a 150 percent rise from 2009.  Last year in the US, Lamborghini sold 290 cars (out of 1,302 units worldwide) and with the Italian carmakers – now part of Volkswagen’s luxury Audi unit – expecting sales in China to surpass 500 per year in the near future, there’s little doubt where the center of the supercar world is now heading.  Lamborghini currently has nine dealerships/showrooms in China but plans to have 20 open and operating by the end of the year.  The carmaker is now waiting for the roll-out of its new 12-cylinder, 700-horsepower Aventador model – priced on the mainland at 6.28 million yuan (678,000 euros) – and already there are 200 pre-orders in from China, according to the company.  According to research carried out by the company, mainland Chinese owners of Lamborghinis are on average the youngest in the world at 35.  “They are self-made men. They are very young but in China most of the money is young,” a spokesperson from the carmaker told the SMP recently.  A procession of the world’s leading luxury carmakers are expanding throughout the Chinese market. According to motor industry watchers IHS Automotive, luxury car sales in China should top 909,900 units this year – up from 727,200 units last year.  The world’s largest luxury carmaker – BMW AG – says it has moved 121, 614 cars in China this year (up 60.8 percent), while Mercedes-Benz says it has sold just over 95,030 cars there this year, already up 59 percent from 2010.

The Strand Superyacht Package.

I know what you’re probably thinking… It is devilishly hard to decide whether you should get a new yacht, or just get another super car.  (These are the questions the plague most of society on a Monday afternoon).  A yacht is relaxing, but the car is fun. Isn’t there a way to do both?  Actually, there is. Swedish Gray Design has come out with the Strand Craft 122 concept. It is an remarkable high performance streamlined 122 foot yacht. The Interior includes four double and very large staterooms, heads, reception, and salon areas – and of course comfortable crew cabins.  And it has a top speed of an phenomenal 50 knots.  And, it comes with a built-in garage for the “Tender.” It is a matching super car powered by a 880hp twin turbo V12 engine with a top speed of 230mph… a two-for-one package for the ages.

Strand Craft 166

If that is too small for you ladies, they have also come up with a “Strand Craft 166” your man can buy. It is a much larger version of the same concept.  It is 166 foot long, can retract the flybridge and radar mast for a more streamline style. Concealed beneath the carbon fibre inlaid fore deck is a sun deck equipped with a large jacuzzi, sporting a built-in bar to ensure that every party is well catered for.  There are five double en-suite staterooms, each equipped with 52 inch Bang & Olufsen TVs, top of the line sound systems, LED mood lighting and an iPad control and information center.  And it is capable of a cruising speed of 30 knots with a top speed of 40 knots.

The Graf Weckerle Ferrari 559 GTB Comte Noir.

Graf Weckerle Imperialwagen, a luxury car customizer from Germany, has released the details and images their Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano program called the Comte Noir.  While a standard 599 GTB is powered by a six-liter V12 engine with 620 HP, the Comte Noir edition delivers an impressive 835 HP.  Although the 0-100 km/h acceleration time and top speed of the car have not been announced, they’re probably quite higher than the ones of the standard car.  The Graf Weckerle Ferrari 599 GTB program includes a special black exterior paint scheme and a two-tone anthracite Graf Weckerle Coachline. The interior of the car has also undergone various modifications.  The design is completed by unique 21” forged titanium/aluminum Fleur-de-Lis ornamental wheels finished in a special two-tone anthracite and black finish.  The list of tech mods also includes a new coil-over suspension which uses adjustable dampers and can lift the vehicle’s front axle by 40 mm at the touch of a button.

The 2010 Zenvo ST1

Zenvo Automotive was founded with one goal in mind. To produce a unique hand built supercar. The developing of the prototype started in 2004. The prototype is completed and the car is in the last testing phase. In 2009 Zenvo Automotive will start the series production of the car, Zenvo ST1. It will be a very limited edition and only 15 cars will be built and sold to special approved customers.

The idea behind the car was to hand build a high performance super car which will meet today´s standards but still keep the original and unique feeling of driving a supercar. The car will have excessive power due to both supercharger and turbo, but will still be drivable for everyday use.

The car is 100% build in Denmark and the design is a result of Danish design. The developing and production are taking place in our hyper modern production hall with all the best equipment available. Since we work very tight with most of our partners we try to use local suppliers. This makes us able to communicate better and to follow the developing much closer to obtain the best possible result.

The Citroen Survolt

The Citroën Survolt is now a part of world history as the all-electric green exotic car has entered the race at Le Mans Classic.  For those who still think the transportation industry will not be affected by the green car movement, it looks like (and in a big way) that you are wrong.  Whether the car places well or out performs any other this year is not the point: the green exotic car entering the race is what makes history, win, lose, or draw.
