SNL makes fun of EDM DJ’s

The EDM community has spread this video faster than an Avicii single, but we here at the blog still needed to write about it, even though most music enthusiasts have seen it.  As a DJ myself, I know personally there are quite a few times when you let a song play for a bit, and have nothing to do with your hands.  “EDM Event” DJ’s have managed to find a way around this by fist-pumping (a despicable practice) or doing other things to appear as if they’re doing something dramatic in the booth.  SNL has taken certain new fads in the DJ industry to new nights in their new spoof, poking fun at Avicii, how much money EDM DJ’s pull in, and the crowd reaction to… not really that much going on.  Check out this hilarious viral video below.

The Hemsworth Brothers | ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ Spoof

Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep star in the hilarious video, directed by Christopher Nolan spoof viral video on YouTube Australian brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth star in new video parody. This video is the first time the Hemsworth brothers have appeared together on camera. As most people know, this is a mock sequel to Charlie Bit My Finger viral clip that has been on YouTube for quite a few years now.

The Worf Of Starfleet.

Screen Shot 2014-03-05 at 11.14.09 AM

So by now, the incredible trailer for Martin Scorsese’s ‘Wolf of Wallstreet’ is nothing new.  (If you live under a rock that’s larger than the film’s success, you can click here.)  There have been many a spoofed, or re-edited, re-imagined, or re-constructed fan trailers of many films in the past, but Grant Gourley’s version is impeccable.  Worf’s voice over Kanye’s “Black Skinheads” is a combination I never thought I’d hear, yet the match to the tone and pace of the original trailer is great.  (Especially the singing at the end).  Gourley has done an incredible job editing this piece, and we can’t wait to see more of his work.

“Soft in the Paint”.

The term “Homo-Thug” tends to refer to homophobic gangsters that refuse to come to terms with their sexuality.  That being said, the guys in this skit must be extremely secure, because they do a great, and incredibly hilarious job of joking about a topic so many urban youth are weary of.  Check the method.

Beauty And The Beat.

Some former American Idol contestants — along with a host of YouTube stars have have re-imagined the opening sequence from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Only in this version, instead of a small town in France, Belle is living it up ghetto-fabulously.  The parody, Beauty and the Beat, features some of the biggest names in YouTube – including DeStorm, GloZell, Miles Jai and Antoine Dodson. It’s as ridiculous and over-the-top as you might expect.  Directed by Idol semi-finalist Todrick Hall, the number is a bit like the parodies from the seminal sketch comedy show, In Living Color. In addition to Hall, the video features Idol alumni Katie Stevens and Vonzell Solomon.

She’s Too Good.

Everyone knows,or a has met an extremely attractive girl who sits comfortably in the mindset that she’s too good for any man that ever approaches her.  The song “She’s Too Good” was created with the intent of speaking to “all the guys who’ve loved and lost… their dignity, trying to get the hot chick.”

Flo Rida – Let It Roll (Keith Apicary Video).

Flo Rida takes a different approach on his most recent video “Let It Roll”. Trying out a YouTube sensation to hopefully get a viral campaign started, Flo Rida has hired comedian Keith Apicary’s to dance crazy all over Miami. Fortunately for us, most of the people watching Keith don’t seem to know it’s all a joke.

How DJ Peter Rosenberg REALLY Feels About Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’.

Peter Rosenberg’s diss of Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” has been all over the news the last couple of weeks. Watch the video above where he makes fun of himself and the song to hopefully clear some of the tension.

Baracka Flocka Flame – I Run The Military.

When it comes to Presidential spoofs, not too many gained the national recognition of “Baracka Flocka Flame – Head Of The State“.  The video has millions offended including the originator of the track Waka Flocka Flame, but now the creators of the video are back with Baracka Flocka Flame’s ‘I Run The Military’.  Because it’s such a witty, funny, and clever take on politics, rap, and Obama, I’m

Occupy Sesame Street.

It seems like the ‘Occupy’ movement has spread to streets all over the country.  Occupy Oakland, Berkley and SF have personally impacted me, but there’s a new Occupy movement that will undoubtedly have a lasting effect on the kids.

Obama Spits Hott Fire.

Click the pic to watch.

As hard as my team and I work on scouring the interwebs for new source material for this blog, I’ll be the first to admit that we can’t catch EVERYTHING.  Sometimes there are articles, skits, photos, and happenings that simple elude our eyes and ears, but luckily I have other sources that help out without knowing.  I came onto Facebook after spinning a beach party on Cinco De Mayo, and saw a post from my boy Rob Scott about President Obama’s original speech after catching Osama Bin Laden.  Click the pic to watch this hilarious video, and shout outs again to Rob Scott for putting this video on my radar

The Female OldSpice Commercial.

So in preparation for work, I had a few drinks, and out of nowhere, my best friend showed me this video that blew my mind.  The ever so famous Old Spice commercials with the black guy, and the fancy transitions has been flipped to speak to men instead.  A hot women with a super sexy British accent and no shirt proceeds to talk about all the things men would want their woman to do (funny how she never mentions blowjobs though.) and actually manages to be as funny as the original commercials.  Check the method below.

A Snoop Dogg, Star Wars, Daft Punk, And David Beckham Video?

Yes, not only is this true, it’s actually pretty old.  I got into a heated debate on the phone with my working colleague Neil about Snoop Dogg, and I mentioned his participation in the Adidas/Star Wars collab.  Neil instantly called me a liar and told me I was making things up, so I decided to write this post just in case anyone else was unaware of the summer 2010 Adidas ad featuring Snoop Dogg, David Beckham, Daft Punk, and a few other big entertainers.

Further than that, there was a second ad put out by Adidas featuring the same stars shortly after.  I know there are probably sneaker heads (like Gabby) cussing under their breath about how old this is, but I’m just trying to prove a point.
