The Queensland Theatre 2018.

Queensland Theatre’s 2018 Season looks to showcase a range of new, bold and exciting plays that pushed the boundaries of contemporary theatre in Australia. After working with the team on both their new brand and 2017 season, we had the chance to at how the identity might evolve and be refined for a new year.  The season leverages one of Queensland Theatre’s unique traits – the set builders and workshop housed within their building. Working alongside their team, we created eight different sets that told a key aspect of each play. We also introduced physical play titles into the sets, pushing the use of their bespoke custom typeface.
Each set was photographed in its completeness, with panels, props and actors all working in harmony to create images that were a true reflection of the effort that goes into each performance.  With Tim Jones and his team expertly lighting and shooting each of the sets, the results were a series of images that explore the subtleties of each of the plays themes, while retaining a vibrancy that spoke to Queensland Theatre’s unique identity and character.

‘When Will The Bass Drop?’ Live.

E.A.S.Y. is the new collaboration between DC Area’s Enferno and NYC’s Shiftee. Both former DMC Champions and artists in their own right, Enferno and Shiftee have come together as E.A.S.Y. to start a paradigm shift in the way we think about DJs and live performance.  In their #LiveRemix parody of Andy Samberg’s SNL skit “WHEN WILL THE BASS DROP,” E.A.S.Y. pokes fun at the current “press play” DJ culture before busting out a new original track “Fly Away.” The video showcases their next level turntablism skills and musicianship, but also highlights their stylistic direction and future bass wig wearing ability.

Serato Icon: DJ Premier.

DJ-Premier1

DJ Premier is the latest Serato Icon. A true cornerstone of hip-hop and a key figure in the development of the culture. An era-defining DJ and producer, his signature style was a blueprint for the underground and influenced a generation. Probably most well known as one half of Gang Starr, there’s a large chunk of an entire genre that he’s directly responsible for. He’s a legend for die-hard hip-hop fiends but also a household name.

The Deglon Meeting Knife Set.

I’m an avid fan of cooking, I love the concept of mixing and matching ingredients and tastes, and coming up with something that no one else can reproduce.  That might sound a little weird coming from a male Disk Jockey… however, in the words of Drizzy Drake “but the b*tches love it”.  But regardless of why you may enjoy cooking, everyone should take a look at these awesome kitchen knives.  Designed by Mia Schmallenbach, the Deglon Meeting Knife Set won first prize in the 5th European Cutlery Design Awards. This set of sculptural, nested knives is practical, durable and a work of art. The set is made of high quality stainless steel and seemingly appears to be created from a single block of stainless steel. To remove each knife, simply press down near the tip of the blade and lift knife away by the handle. The set includes 4 knifes, a paring knife, a utility knife, a chef knife and a slicer. You can buy it here.

What if I tell you that the pieces are actually vibrating?  This chess set is a uniquely luxurious product, reminding us that truly fulfilling intimate experiences are enhanced and designed with in the mind.  Priced at $10,000 if you playing for money, you BETTER win.

€2 Mil. Hubot Watch.

Swiss watchmaker Hublot has launched a new diamond-covered 18k white gold Big Bang tourbillon watch, which costs a face-rapingly expensive €2 million ($2.8 million).  The new Hublot Big Bang Watch set in 18 carat gold with a gold Big Bang tourbillion comes studded with as many as 142 carats worth of baguette diamonds, which covers the case, dial, and bracelet.  A total of 637 baguette diamonds along with one rose cut diamond on the crown dress up this masterpiece.  More than 13,000 hours were needed to cut the stones (with 45 gemcutters working non-stop for 1 month), which then took 2,000 hours to set.  The watch comes with a caliber HUB 6003 manually wound tourbillon movement with off-centered time display.

Sittin On Louis Vuitton.

I have some friends who are quite obsessed with high class style. As soon as I came across these Louis V couches, I knew I had to put it up for them. Designed by Jason Phillips and manufactured by Phillips Collection, these Louis Vuitton sofas are available in classic LV prints, Murakami and Classic Monogram. The limited-edition collection is made from repurposed fabrics and can be supplemented with cushions for each model. As for the price… lets just say their expensive.
