X-Men: Dark Pheonix, The First Trailer…

“I’ve seen evil, and I’m looking at it now.”  It’s been a long time coming, but the official trailer for Dark Phoenix, the next (and potentially final chapter in Fox’s long-running X-Men saga), is finally here.  Just like his predecessor in the pre-DOFP timeline, it appears that Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) has made the same grave mistake while handling a young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) as he seemingly opted to once again suppress her dormant Phoenix abilities instead of helping teach her how to control the über-powerful force. Also, while the trailer may be light on actual Dark Phoenix action, save for a quick shot near the end, there’s still plenty of intense footage of all of your favorite returning X-Men as they band together to face arguably their most dangerous – and most personal – threat yet.

Observation Tower “Pin” in Phoenix

Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has released their most recent design project – a 420ft-high observation tower in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix is renowned for its stunning natural terrain, its mountainous peaks drawing tourists in from around the world. And the Observation Tower or “Pin” allows visitors to gaze across the local surroundings with 360° views. Three glass elevators transport users to the summit from which they can descend while taking in the panoramic views either to the central level where glass elevators will take them back to the base or further down to the lowest level of the spherical volume where they will encounter the retail and restaurant facilities. Brian Stowell of developers Novawest said of the project: “This is the right place and the right time for a signature project for downtown Phoenix and we knew the design needed to be something extraordinary. BIG has delivered something exceptional, blending form and function in a way that will change the local skyline forever and will give visitors a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Air travel is boring. Why not make it interesting by inciting a pillow fight? That’s exactly what passengers did on a recent Continental Airlines flight from Phoenix, Arizona, to Everett, Washington. They even ganged up on those in first class with the chant “Throw them all into first.”
