Naya Rivera

Naya Rivera is ready for her time in the spotlight as she strikes a sexy pose on the flip cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The 26-year old actress’ rise began on the popular Fox series Glee, where she plays lesbian cheerleader Santana Lopez. But with the musical drama filming its final season, Rivera is ready to move to the next phase of her career as a musician.

“It took a long time to figure out where I wanted to go musically,” she told Rolling Stone. With the kinks worked out, the newly engaged entertainer called on her fiance, rapper Big Sean, to jump on her first single Sorry Not Sorry this past summer. Rivera recalled that while her album is not completed, she was eager to push her label Columbia Records to release the single early. “Get on or get off. I think this is a summer song, and I want it on the radio by the end of the summer,” she told them.

R. Kelly featuring 2 Chainz – My Story

R-Kelly-Taps-2-Chainz-For-New-Single-My-Story

The ‘Pied Piper’ himself R. Kelly unleashes his latest musical melody titled “My Story” via the internet today – and it’s everything you would expect from the R&B legend. Featuring Atlanta word smith 2 Chainz for an added rhythmic appeal, the below single reminds us of the artist’s story, as Kelly divulges an autobiographical account of his life through the use of his patented sing-song rap mash-up. “My Story” is expected to be on R. Kelly’s forthcoming Black Panties album, although there has been no official announcement in that regard.

Skrillex And The Doors – Breakn’ A Sweat

“Breakn’ a Sweat” is a song by American electronic music producer Skrillex. It is the third track on his fourth EP, Bangarang. It features guest vocal and musical contributions from the American rock band The Doors. It was created for the 2012 documentary film Re:Generation. Musically, “Breakn’ a Sweat” has heavy influences of dubstep, electro house and progressive house. It contains a vocal sample from a 1960s interview with Jim Morrison, while the remaining members of The Doors and Skrillex did the chants. The song received generally positive reviews from music critics, with some highlighting it as the standout track from the EP.

Freaknik Came and Went.

Freaknik as some of us may remember, was the massive party held in ATL during spring break at which students from all the black universities were in attendance. Now, Freaknik has a different meaning to those of us tuned into Adult Swim on the night of March 7th. Freakink was “resurected” in the 1 hour cartoon special ‘Freaknik: The Musical’ staring the voices of T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, DJ Drama, Lil Jon, and many, many more. You can check it out here. But hurry, it expires on March 23rd 2010.
