The reported price tag for these exclusive ear warmers: $25,000.

The 10 Most Expensive Foods In The World.

From food app dishpal comes an infographic detailing some of the most expensive foods in the world, among which are gold-lined, truffle-laced and wine soaked foods.  The most expensive dish is a $16,000 meat pie sold at the Fence Gate Inn in Lancashire. Filled with 6 lbs of Kobe beef, each slice will set you back $2,000.  What does that princely sum buy you? A meat pie marinated in two bottles of 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, filled with truffles and Matsusake mushrooms, and edible 23-carat gold for garnish.  At New York’s Westin hotel at Times Square, chef Frank Tujague created a limited time $1,000 bagel stuffed with white truffle cream cheese and goji berry-infused Riesling jelly with gold leaves (pictured above).  And from BrewDog in Scotland comes an $800 to $1,100 pint of Belgian ale that comes in a dead, squirrel carcass.  Other expensive foods on the graphic include a $12,000 pizza topped with lobster, caviar, eight different cheeses and hand-picked Australian river salt from Italy.  And there is a Samundari Khazana Seafood Curry at $3,000, ironically released to coincide with the film Slumdog Millionaire….

The 1 Million Dollar Video Game Collection.

A French video game collector just sold a collection of thousands of video games on eBay for more than $1.2 million.  The collection includes every video game for many of Nintendo’s consoles, every video game for every single Sega console and also for lesser-known game consoles. In total, the collection includes 22 full sets with about 7,000 video games.  The seller says he took exceptionally good care of his precious games. All are factory-sealed with original boxes and instructions. Many of the games have never been opened or played. He even kept the boxes away from direct sunlight.  The efforts seem to have paid off, as a buyer from Canada has purchased the lot for the asking price of 999,999 euro (around $1.23m) for this jaw-dropping collection.

The Living Calendar.

The Living Concept 2009 was created specially for project newave.com.ua. What separates this calendar from your traditional fair is the ability to show weeks, months, holidays, and time all at a glance. A large hand shows a current day (and month too), thus doing a complete turn during 365 days. A little hand shows the current day of week (and current hour) and accordingly does a complete turn for 7 days. It seems totally overwhelming to try and read everything together but that’s only half the story. You can buy one of these mechanical calendars mid December for, wait for it. . . $94,950.

The Diamond Jubilee Bottle.

Created in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, Royal Salute is this year continuing with tradition by celebrating the Queen’s 60 year reign with the launch of the Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee Limited Edition.  The bottle is made from hand-blown and hand-cut crystal and is finished with a show-stopping solid cut crystal stopper. It is presented in a hand-crafted display box.  The striking royal-blue bottle has an RRP of £165 and is available from Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason.  Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee is a limited edition that will only be available in 2012 during the Jubilee celebrations.

Chopard Produces The World’s Most Expensive Sunglasses.

The World’s Most Expensive Sunglasses, produced for Chopard by De Rigo Vision, will be showcased in Dubai at The One and Only Royal Mirage on May 14th 2012.  The sunglasses that worth $400,000 are made of 60 grams of 24 carat gold and decorated with 51 full-cut 4 carat River diamonds.  The diamonds are set by using a special technique so that the stones are set more closely together than with the classic pavé setting. By being placed this way, the stones create a carpet that lets out a special light.

The Floating Theater.

For a new film festival in Thailand called Film on the Rocks Yao Noi, an outdoor cinema was constructed in the most unlikely of places: right on top of the water.  The amazing venue is called the Archipelago Cinema and is tucked away inside a bay surrounded by towering island rocks and lush jungle plants.

For the final night of the Film Festival earlier this month, guests were taken by boat to savor a final screening on this floating cinema designed by Beijing-based architect Ole Scheeren.

The Archipelago Cinema  consisted of a floating screen, cradled between two towering rocks, and a separate raft-like auditorium. The cinema was crafted out of recycled materials, and its modular construction allows for flexibility and future reuse.

The Festival, which took place from 9th- 12th March 2012, is set to become an annual meeting place for art and film.
And festival or not, this is for sure one of the coolest destinations I’ve seen in a long, long time.

A $5 Mil.Watch?

The world’s biggest watch event opens to the public Thursday in Basel, Switzerland, on the back of a bumper year thanks to Asian demand for luxury timepieces.  Hublot, a subsidiary of French luxury goods group LVMH, will use the high-profile event to unveil “The $5 million” a watch comprising no less than 1,282 diamonds.  “This is the most precious watch ever created by Hublot and its long-standing partner, Atelier Bunter in Geneva,” said Hublot.  The piece is the result of 14 months work, including that of a “master-cutter” from New York who fashioned the largest stones.  Jean-Claude Biver, president of the watch company, said it would be difficult to make a more expensive watch “because the surface of the watch is limited.”  The watch will be displayed under very tight security, a company spokeswoman said, and only select Baselworld attendees will even be allowed to view it.

The World’s Most Expensive T-Shirt.

A United Kingdom-based company called Superlative Luxury has created an eco-friendly t-shirt priced at $400,000.  The t-shirt is made of 100% organic cotton and the manufacturing process uses only renewable energy, such as wind and solar, reducing the carbon footprint by 90%.  The t-shirt features a spherical pattern created from 16 one-carat diamonds; half of which are white diamonds and the other half are enhanced rare black diamonds.  Due to the company’s preference for greener manufacturing, it takes them four weeks to make a shirt.  The t-shirts come with a one-year warranty.

The Lake House…

Lake Tahoe, Nevada is among the most sought after destinations for dream homes. The beautiful  views of the large freshwater lake located in the Sierra Nevada make Tahoe the perfect get away destination.  There are quite a few waterfront properties lining the lake, few as breathtaking as ‘The Lake House’ designed by San Francisco based studio Mark Dziewulski Architect. Built nearly 6 years ago, the project was started in June 2006 and took until February 2010 to complete the extravagant home.

This monstrous home covers over 8,694 square feet of contemporary beauty that includes 5 floors, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, six level glass stairwell, and of course a glass elevator to make accessing your desired floor a breeze. If you are looking to pick this masterpiece up, this half acre lot in Incline Village, Crystal Bay, Nevada, USA is currently listed at $43 million.

The Most Expensive Penthouse In S.F.

A two-floor, $28 million penthouse in my new hometown of San Francisco has made history as the most expensive condo sold in the city’s history.  The 20,000-square-foot condo features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, six bedrooms, seven full baths, four powder rooms; 2,500 square foot master suite, thirteen-seat home cinema and four terraces, four fireplaces and six car parking.  The penthouse was originally asking $70 million in 2008 by Victor MacFarlane, a real-estate developer who bought three apartment shells and combined them.

The World’s Most Expensive Car Wreck.

A fleet of luxury sportscars has been involved in one of the most expensive accidents in history after an astonishing multi-car pile-up in Japan.  The wreck included several Ferrari 355s, Ferrari F430s, Ferrari F360, Ferrari F512, Lamborghini Diablo and three Mercedes models as well as a Nissan Skyline.  The Ferrari driver reportedly lost control round a wet curve of China Road in Yamaguchi Prefecture when he hit a median creating a catastrophic chain reaction.

Police said some of the drivers belonged to a group of luxury car enthusiasts from Kyushu island who had gathered to tour the area together.  There were no serious injuries to any of the drivers, aged between 37 and 60, though 10 were taken to hospital.  Even a used Ferrari in Japan can fetch $100,000 or more, meaning the total damage may be $1 million or more.

Yeah, Thats A BOAT.

Not too long ago, I was in Miami for work (and play), and I had the immense please of getting to see the “Never Say Never”.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with awesomeness, the “Never Say Never” is the boat on which the SNL comedy sketch ‘I’m On A Boat’ was filmed.  I don’t typically get star struck, but for some odd reason, seeing that particular boat was mesmerizing.  That being said, this post is about a boat that dwarfs the “Never Say Never” in every way possible.  The 55 metre superyacht Quinta Essentia, the largest vessel ever launched by the Netherlands’ Heesen Yachts, has been listed for sale for $100 million.  With sleek exterior lines by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, the yacht’s most striking feature is a grand swimming pool on the aft deck complete with a waterfall.  The yacht has a very modern interior by Ken Freivokh Design and Michela Reverberi with metallic silver accents.

People around the world have different tastes in alcohol (and different budgets for it), but recently I saw some exquisite examples of how different alcohol companies all over the world display the best of their best.  Its a pretty well known fact that I happen to be quite the alcohol connoisseur myself, and from the subtle to the extravagant, all the different examples I saw, all demonstrate a mastery of packaging design. My personal favorite is the 007 Bottle, but let me know which one strikes you as the leader of the pack.

The World’s Most Expensive Bottle Of Tequila.

Mexican distiller Hacienda La Capilla, has unveiled a 1.3 litter tequila bottle called “The Diamond Sterling” on Monday.  The bottle, made of 2.3-kilogram layer of platinum and over 4,000 diamonds totaling 328 carats, is valued at around $3.5 million.  The bottle, designed by Fernando Altamirano, was seen during an interview with Reuters television in Mexico City.  Altamirano hopes to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s most expensive bottle, and when I save up the pocket change, I will promptly get wasted after the purchase.
