The Tiny Apartment With The Elevator Bed??

“YO! Home” is a 40-square-meter (430 sq. ft.) studio apartment prototype that allows a small multi-functional space to feel like a larger home. The bed and the dining table can be hidden when not in use.  The apartment unit is built in a factory modularly. The modulars then can be put together on-site. There are four moving functional features – the bed, the dining table, the pocket kitchen and floor storage. The Bed is lowered from the ceiling and can be raised all the way to the top. It has fail-safe sensors to prevent it from moving if someone is on it or under it. The Dining Table is sinkable with the back of the seat-backs serving as the floor. The Pocket Kitchen can be neatly folded away into the walls. It includes a washing machine, cooker, sink, and storage space. Floor Storage is hidden under a false floor, unnoticeable when not in use.

Contemporary House Maza In Mexico

Contemporary-House-Maza-in-Mexico-1

The contemporary dwelling was completed back in 2012, and features 5,263 square feet of living space. The home is situated in a natural setting surrounding the Lake of Valle de Bravo, and blends nicely thanks to the lush vegetation running all throughout the home’s facade. In fact it’s almost difficult to tell where the outside ends, and the inside begins due largely in part to the massive floor to ceiling windows and doors that open the interior up completely to the outside elements. The residence has been equipped with a multi-car garage in the basement, and a tour through the house reveals individual spaces designed as scenes – providing a unique experience for visitors and residents alike.

Solar access to the front and a busy road to the rear drove the creation of a central courtyard with two story alfresco and mezzanine walkway which formed the focal point of the home. The mixture of timber and stone complement the metal work and concrete giving the home a warm industrial interior design edge. The free form living area features a central polished plaster ethanol fireplace and is adjacent to the state of the art kitchen with a concealed cool room and pantry. The remainder of the ground floor is comprised of a library, powder room, laundry and a separate master wing with dressing room, ensuite and private courtyard. Designed for multi-generational living, the upper floor has a separate living room and balcony which overlooks the stairwell and courtyard beyond. Both upper floor bedrooms access the mezzanine walkway and have a shared bathroom and separate kitchenette.

Ong and Ong Pte’s Modern House in Singapore

Designed by architects Ong & Ong Pte, this modern house in Singapore is meant to give you “a spatial experience that excites the senses by promoting light.” The architects sought to create a relationship between the metallic elements and subtle tones within the house by wrapping aluminum cladding in the air well. This air well divided the two sections of the house and became the perfect place for an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. The coolest part, of course, is that you can open up the glazed partitions of the house so that the first floor becomes one large living space. The ground floor, then, is not only a lounge and dinning area, it is an ideal place to relax and sit poolside, a place to sip margaritas and soak in the rays.

The Bottomless Bathroom.

Design Studio Hernandez Silva Arquitectos worked on the interior decoration penthouse PPDG, located on the 15th floor of a building in a colonial-style 70th years in Guadalajara, Mexico.  A characteristic feature of the project is that a volume that was originally intended for a second elevator and was never installed becomes a bathroom with a glass floor that looks down all the 15 levels.

The Heike Weber Installations.

This is a collection of utterly amazing installations by Heike Weber. She draws with permanent markers on acrylic floor and walls.  I can’t begin to imagine how time consuming these breathtaking installations must have been.
