There might be a second definition for the phrase “Smoking a fatty”, this Multihigh, an online smoking accessories and paraphernalia shop, brings us Cannadoms; green, marijuana flavored condoms. It’s a superb way to win the heart of your stoner girlfriend, or a really risky way to test the sexual limits of your non-stoner girlfriend.

Had Any Odd Facebook Requests Recently?

What if you were cruising Facebook on any particular day, and you got a friend request from you future son or daughter?  Lets not forget that more effective than the threat of hideous diseases is the threat of responsibility. Olla Condoms in Brazil sent friend requests to single dudes from fictional love children.  A sort of scared straight viral marketing campaign to get guys to wrap it up, this is one of the most brilliant ideas I’ve ever seen.  Check the method below.

So its almost that time.  ‘Cocktails & Condoms’ is right around the corner.  Photoshoots, interviews, behind the scenes videos, preview parties, and 2 months of work in multiple cities all over the country will all culminate to ‘Cocktails & Condoms’ Release Party at Sutra Night Club in San Francisco on Friday, August 13th.  The event will be 21+, and is FREE before 11 p.m. and $20 for any guests afterwards, so make sure you show up early.

‘Cocktails & Condoms’ New Drop Date

So many people have approached me recently to talk about the changed release date of  ‘Cocktails & Condoms’.  The project was to be completed on July 26th, and released on August 1st, but has now been pushed to August 14th.  The primary reason for the push is my ever lasting obsession with perfection.  This mix CD is the biggest solo production I’ve ever pushed.  I even went so far as to taking the time to travel to multiple cities around the country in order to become better familiarized with the style of music in those areas so I don’t miss out on the best new music being played around the country.  During the final steps of creation, I had to undergo a minor surgery to have my wisdom teeth removed.  Anyone who’s had the procedure knows how little you can do the first few days afterwards, and how insane it would be to do something like… travel up and down the east coast doing shows, drinking, clubbing, and working on a major release, all while partially twacked out on pain medication and suffering from sleep deprivation.  But that was the path I chose to take after the surgery, and anyone keeping up with me on twitter heard how much not taking the time to rest up took its toll on me mentally as well as physically.   So I’m back in the bay area now, and totally devoted to completing and re-editing the CD to make sure it is 110% of everything I set out for it to be.  I’ve even been fortunate enough to be blessed with some new artwork for ‘Cocktails & Condoms’ by one of my favorite illustrators, Rodney Young (above), and will also have some time to feature some new music from Rob Scott, and MSTRKRFT on the CD as well.  But from here on out, there will no more mistakes, and no more excuses, and if your fortunate enough to be in the bay area on Friday the 13th, the release party will be held at Club Sutra in San Francisco.  For everyone else, the morning of Saturday August 14th will hopefully yield one of the most unique musical experiences I’ve ever been able to provide to the public, so look out for it.

‘Cocktails & Condoms’ Mixing Session

As everyone has undoubtedly figured out, the release of ‘Cocktails & Condoms’ has been delayed until August 1st.  I know nothing could be an adequate substitute for the CD so many people have been waiting on, but as a gift, what I do have is a short interview and behind the scenes look at a mixing session the day before I left S.F. to spend time on the east coast.

DJ Storm’s Top 5 Funniest Commercials

So, my boy Charlie and I had a long discussion about the top 5 commercials we crack up at every time we see them.  Some of them are recent while others have aged quite a bit.  But regardless of the date they were released, they all cater to my sense of humor in such a way that puts them in my top 5.  (Note: The names I’ve put are not the actual names of the commercials, just the way I remember them.)

‘Cocktails & Condoms’ Cover Art.

Tons of people have seen the announcement banner for “Cocktails & Condoms” produced by the master photographer Unni R. and featuring the lovely Allie Marque.  But while trying to figure out the final packaging scheme for the CD, I ran into a little issue, all the photos I have are a bit too good for me to decide which one should be coupled with the front cover.  I haven’t released the front cover as of yet, but I’ve already got that one down, what I need YOU to do, is take a vote on which of the 4 photos you like the best.  The winner will be the back cover of the CD.

That New New: ‘Cocktails & Condoms’

DJ Storm Presents: 'Cocktails & Condoms'

So many people outside of my close circle of friends have been wondering exactly what I’ve been talking about when I keep mentioning ‘Cocktails & Condoms’. Well I’m finally allowed to give out some details, so here’s the skinny… ‘C&C’ is a mix CD I’m going to be releasing for the summer party season. Its a crazy blend on Electro, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Slow Jams. (yes slow jams).

‘C&C’ features music from Gyptian, Busta Rhymes, Steve Aoki, Drake, Vybz Kartel, Tiesto, T.I., Hyper Crush, Rihanna, Tokyo 24, Fabolous, Boys Noize, Gucci Mane, LMFAO, Jay-Z, Elephant Man, N.E.R.D., Ratatat, Usher, Michael Jackson, Armand Van Helden, G.O.V., Jadakiss, Rye Rye, and like a billion others. There are some brand new original DJ Storm remixes, remixes of remixes, and mashups of originals remixed with other mashup remixes the likes of which most humans on the planet have never dared to phathom. So needless to say I’m putting 1000% of my talents into creating a project that will truly be a unquestionably impressive work of music.

Many people saw the video behind the scenes of the make up shoot, featuring video by Unni R., and showcasing the work of the production team, Allie Marque, Joana Casanova, Ashley Forrest and myself. (and if you didn’t, click here). The purpose of that video was to give people a short taste of some of the music on the CD, and give a little insight into the process behind putting this type of project out. As things progress, I’ll be dropping a few more videos of integral parts of the creation of ‘Cocktails & Condoms’ and dropping previews of some of my favorite mixes from the CD at the same time. So be on the lookout for updates and notifications from now till the release date.

Its going to be a good one.

Behind The Scenes: ‘Cocktails & Condoms’

Recently I set plans under way to shoot the cover of Cocktails & Condoms. My lead photographer Unni R. was also on hand to shoot a short video of our model getting her eye and cheek makeup done.  The footage looked amazing, and I thought it’d be a good way to get some more people interested in the music that will make up the final version of this new project.  So below is the video I edited together of the make up session.  I know everything may be a bit vague, but more details about Cocktails & Condoms will be coming VERY very soon.
