The Illest Photos Of The Most Surreal.

When photography stops to tell the concrete reality and try to represent a concept, when the image alludes to something, it becomes visual narrative, surreal and fantastic, a concept art.  A very young artist, spokesman of this photographic genre, is the American David Talley, founder and creative director of Concept Collaboration, a worldwide movement dedicated to conceptual photography.  With a touch a bit emo(tional) and an image processing similar to the dark one of Tim Barton, his goal seeks to highlight “the darkest moment before an explosion of light”.  Through the use of the movement and the rarefied atmospheres, David translates the emotions of real life in photographs from the positive impact that try to capture vulnerability and disturbances. Every place, every natural element help him enrich his narrative skills and provides in visual emotions.  The reality, after all, is only a starting point.

International tours, EDC appearances, Festival sets, Vegas gigs, and never ending music studio hours can do a good job of keeping two friends apart. But for the first time in over a year, DJ Storm and DJ Jeff Phantom have teamed up again for another multi-genre mish-mash of mashups. ‘Get Out Of Jail Free’ sticks closer to the the electronic music side of the fence, and where it does feature hip hop, it does so with remixes.  However, the ebb and flow of the 65 minute long mix features a range from House, to Twerk, to Trap that is sure to keep any listener entertained.  Check out a demo below, and click the photo above to download.

Mercedes Benz Partners with Lufthansa to Create Spectacular Luxury Airplane

At first glance, the interior of this private jet doesn’t look an airplane. It instead resembles a luxury hotel suite or an impeccably-decorated home. But, this is actually a new design concept as part of a collaboration between Lufthansa Technik and Mercedes Benz. Their idea is a stunning departure from the conventional plane interior, and it has a gorgeous visual flow paired with modern furnishings.

The purpose of the collaboration was to fuse the Mercedes design style onto the Lufthansa Technik aircraft. There hints of the car company’s influence within the scheme. The windows are concealed by black panels, which are inspired by Mercedes Benz S-Class screens. And, using their Magic Sky technology, the panels can be dimmed electronically from black to transparent.

“Our goal is to offer a highly discerning global clientele a standard of interior design that leaves nothing to be desired,” explains Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President VIP and Executive Jet Solutions for Lufthansa. “Whether for private or business use, our modular completion concept perfectly fits every purpose.”

This special concept made its recent debut at the 2015 EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition), an event for those involved within the European private aircraft industry. It’s not currently slated for a wider release, but the companies will asses the level of consumer interest in the coming months.

Coming off the heels of their Undefeated collaboration, Bape announces their latest collab with French clothing company Lacoste.  The unusual pairing will be an exclusive capsule collection release for the Japanese Bape store. Meshing Bape’s streetwear essence with Lacoste’s luxury-wear, both brands manage to drop one of the better collabs seen this year. The capsule collection consists of polo shirts, sweatpants, hoodies, crewnecks and graphic tees. The full-zip hoodie reimagined as a crocodile is undoubtedly the standout piece from the offerings, while the combined logo offers a clever take on the collaboration, but every piece in the collection will include Lacoste’s signature crocodile logo and Bape’s gorilla logo.  The Lacoste L!ve x Bape capsule collection will be available at Japanese Bape locations starting March 28.

Mario’s Getting a Mercedes

h1D6476CF

If you’ve ever played a Super Mario game, you’re going to love the new Japanese commercial for the Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV.  In it, an 8-bit Mario smashes blocks, collects coins, and runs over baddies in a pixelated Benz. When he wraps up the level, the NES game turns live-action, and a tough looking Mario in Batman-esque armor emerges from the SUV.  Besides being a fun ad, it marks a notable shift for both Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz.  It’s the first example of Nintendo licensing its intellectual property after its president Satoru Iwata announced the company would move in this direction as it struggles to profit from games on its Wii U console, Bloomberg reports. The GLA will also be the first real-life car available in the upcoming “Mario Kart 8.”

The Last Drop Dunny by Sket And Huck Gee

01 04

While both Sket and Huck Gee have stellar reputations for their high-end custom editions, they’ve never collaborated on a custom Dunny, well until now.  A decade of work has lead to their first collaboration – The Last Drop Dunny. Last Drop is a seductively dangerous concoction, blending Huck’s Skullhead character with Sket’s signature bottle aesthetic from his long-running Dunny condiment series.  With a mix of clear and purple translucent materials and tight graphics, this poisonous piece has quite the visual sting.  As you’d expect from Huck and Sket, they’ve gone all out on the details including a real cork stopper and a laser etched cherry wood tag.  Additionally, the signed/numbered  8″ Dunny comes with a  custom screen printed shot glass, and a velour traveling bag.

Tesla’s Are Going Android.

tesla-model-s-world-s-fastest-production-ev-54521-7

Tesla is often seen as the Apple of car makers so Elon Musk’s decision to update the current flagship Model S with a Google Chrome web browser and Android emulating OS could surprise some.  The company’s CEO made the announcement at a special Tesla event in Munich, Germany this week, but pointed out that the changes will not happen overnight.  So, from late next year Tesla customers will be able to access the internet in-car via Google’s Chrome, and the informatics platform will be fully Android-compatible — it currently runs a version of Linux that can support modified Android and iOS apps — meaning that it will be easy for developers to write Tesla-specific apps or to port existing Android apps to run on the car’s software systems.

As well as being the pure electric vehicle with the longest range on a single battery charge currently in production, the Tesla Model S also has the largest touchscreen interface of any road car.  The 17-inch system not only offers an online connection and access to the vehicle’s navigation system, but also replaces many of the analogue switches and dials — for features such as air conditioning — that litter most vehicle cabins.  However creating something that takes full advantage of a display more than twice the size of the average tablet could take some doing on the part of Android app developers — Apple CEO Tim Cook has described most tablet apps on Google Play as simply stretched smartphone apps.

Batman/Superman Movie Confirmed.

SUPERMAN-AND-BATMAN-dc-comics-33738718-1920-1080

I was so tuckered from E3 that wasn’t personally able to make it to Comic-Con San Diego this year, but I was still keeping an ear to the ground for big news, and I found it via SuperHeroHype.com.

On the heels of the worldwide success of “Man of Steel,” director Zack Snyder is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time—Batman and Superman—for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The current hit, “Man of Steel,” has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill, the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.
Silverman stated, “Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Kroll added, “We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack and his team on this next movie. The success of ‘Man of Steel’ is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack has in store for all of us.”
Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, noted, “Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack’s continuing vision for the DC Universe.”
Zack Snyder, who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, later said, “I’m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can’t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let’s face it, it’s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world.”
The new film brings back Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan.
Thomas offered, “Whilst our ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack’s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can’t wait to see what Zack does with these characters.”
The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, and Batman characters created by Bob Kane, published by DC Entertainment.

Jay-Z Spits (And Decodes) A New Verse At The London Paralympics.

Jay-Z and Coldplay got together for the closing ceremonies of the London paralympics to play the new track “Paradise” take a listen to what Jay said about his verse.

The thought behind the verse is, anyone with a disability, just wants a sense of normality – that’s why they’re competing in these games. That was the idea to make the verse as inclusive for as many people, and to make it as normal as possible. It’s influenced by so many different things. There are parts that are influenced by Gabby Douglas, there are parts that are influenced by Ryan Lochte, and by Serena Williams.

It can relate to everybody. ‘You can take everything,’ means whether through some tragedy you lost a limb, like an arm or a leg. Or, it could be something like you lost the mortgage to your house. That’s pretty much the idea.’

Drake has made it clear that he doesn’t spend much time on social media outlets thanks to the inevitable criticism, but this week the YMCMB rapper really caught heat for his new collaboration with Aaliyah. Amid rumors that her family isn’t supporting the mysterious posthumous album that he’s helming, Drake finally confirmed that the project is official — with the blessing of her family.

Tyrone aka T-RexXx of ‘MuchMusic’ scores an exclusive interview with Drake backstage at OVO Fest and chats about the festival and his upcoming collaboration with the late Aaliyah.

Joe Budden’s Mystery Collaboration Revealed.

The Hip Hop game is riddled with masterful collaborations, and combos that the would would never expect until they actually come true.  Recently Joe Buddens linked up with an emcee that is one of the games greatest, and a few folks got together at the Irving Plaza to get a sneak peak of the track.  Be warned though, the video is a bit shaky, and the split second the audience finds out who the secret collaborator is… the video cuts out.

Hermes X Vans Collection.

So what happens when a man with an extensive Hermes scarf collection asks the kind people at Vans to turn them into custom shoes?  Some very beautiful & very unique footwear is created.  If these were lace ups I might just sell my key to Sara Underwood‘s condo for them.  Uber dope.

Tyga Talk.

In an interview with XXL, Tyga discussed how the collaboration with Nas came about and what we can expect from his song featuring Nicki Minaj:

“Yeah man, I sent Nas a song like six months ago and I never heard back from him but out of the blue, he called me like, ‘Yo, you doing your thing. I want to be a part of what you doing, I like everything you doing. Keep working hard. I sent him the ‘Kings and Queens’ that night and he did it the next day. I was like, that shit is crazy. Nas always talks that shit. The song, man, [his bars] added the cherry on top. It’s a real classic song. People are gonna like it. I wanna think of a dope video. The storyline of the song, the whole King and Queens [theme], it’s motivational.”

On ‘Muthafucka Up’ featuring Nicki Minaj:

“The song for Nicki is called ‘Muthafucka Up”. I don’t know what they gonna call it on the radio. Maybe they might call it ‘Up.’ That one is one of them going in type songs. Like how Wayne had ‘A Milli.’ One of those Young Money records that people love. We got a crazy visual for that one, too. I don’t wanna give it away. I’ve been doing a lot of features for everyone.”

Pop Locking vs Ballet Collaboration.

Spike Jonze arranged this collaboration of the world’s greatest cellist with unique hiphop dancer Lil Buck.  This is what Jonze wrote: “The other day, I was lucky enough to be at an event to bring the arts back into schools and got to see an amazing collaboration between Yo-Yo Ma and a young dancer in LA, Lil Buck. Someone who knows Yo-Yo Ma had seen Lil Buck on YouTube and put them together. The dancing is Lil Buck’s own creation and unlike anything I’ve seen. Hope you enjoy.” –Spike Jonze.

Mercedes SLK 55 AMG vs Ducati Streetfighter 848.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new collaboration with Bologna-based Ducati to be unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show.  The ‘Streetfighter Yellow’ models are designed to celebrate the partnership between the automaker and motorcycle brand.  This partnership has already produced several collaborations such as the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition showcased in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.  This time, the firms have produced both a car and a bike — the SLK 55 AMG and the new Ducati Streetfighter 848, both highlighted in bright yellow, a color variant which Mercedes-Benz says it will bring to production if there is enough demand.

Among the special features on the SLK 55 AMG, the most powerful SLK model ever made, are yellow-illuminated LED door sills and contrasting yellow stitching against black leather in the door panels, shift lever and steering wheel.  The Ducati Streetfighter, also finished in striking yellow, features a revised Testastretta 11° engine with 97 kW (132 hp) and new ergonomics.

New Prada Phone By LG 3.0 For 2012.

LG and fashion label Prada are collaborating for the third time to release the first LG Prada smartphone, the Prada phone by LG 3.0.  The first LG Prada, also known as LG KE850, was the world’s first mobile phone to use a touchscreen display.  The teams behind the design and construction have offered a sneak peek into the handset that will be on offer next fall via an image released by the company.  Neither of the two concerned companies has revealed any information on the upcoming LG Prada phone.  Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said, “Our working relationship with PRADA is unique in its longevity and success, something no other phone company and luxury brand have been able to replicate.”  Designer labels attached to phones is not a novelty these days considering the Hugo Boss Samsung Galaxy Ace or the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9981 devices.

The Minimalist Hero.

As super hero movies continue to dominate the summer blockbuster season, the graphic designers behind their poster seem to have been running the same circles.  The posters for Ironman 2 look quite similar to the Tron posters, which in turn, look strikingly like the classic Star Wars posters.  Designer Marko Manev has taken his time to turn the tables on this trend.  Take a look at his brilliant minimalistic super hero posters.

It’s no secret that as a studio engineer, I’m enthralled by the creative process that goes down in the music studio.  It shouldn’t be a secret that ASAP Rocky and Araab Muzik are 2 of Hip Hop’s growing generation of young and talented artists, so getting to see a little bit of the magic that goes down between them at Quad Studio’s in NY is for sure something I wanted to share.  Check the method below.
