Thank God for Villains and Creeps.

Matrix-Reloaded-Villains-villains-7482655-1600-1200What is it exactly that makes a movie antagonist memorable?  It’s not just how many innocent people they dispense of, their powers or abilities, or even their look.  Sorry to say, but the Matrix 2 twins (pictured above) are NOT good villains.  After the 2014 Oscars, DJ Storm got together with some friends, and discussed the heroes montage presented at the award show.  There were many a hero that could have been added to the list, but more importantly it was noted that without incredible villains, those heroes wouldn’t have had a chance to show what they were made out of.   So in the first custom djstormsblog video, we present to you our list of SOME of cinema’s most memorable villains.   [NOTE: Horror Movie baddies were specifically left out, we didn’t forget about them.  And this video does have some foul language.]

Skratch Bastid & DJ Izn – Cold Cut (Live).

fd3f3c10-645e-48a4-98d4-8bf594e5a3cf

In a cold city in the middle of nowhere, Canada, Skratch Bastid and Izn got together to hastily record right before their show. Within an hour of meeting each other, we were at the IMP Labs in the U of R, recording a routine! “Cold Cuts” is a layer of new school sounds flavoured with a touch of the old school. Funky, soulful and G-ed up all in one.

Yelawolf Talks ‘Radioactive’.

Spitting isn’t the only way Yelawolf can engage folks when he has a mic in his hands.  He recently stepped up to the stage at his listening party, and talked about his debut album Radioactive, Eminem, and his collab with ‘Gangsta Boo’.  Check the method below.

Curren$y feat. Fiend – Televised.

I’ve said it many a time, that I’m enthralled with the behind the scenes aspect of creating music.  Luckily for me, I get to live in that world almost everyday, but seeing it through the eyes of other people and getting a chance to see how they work in the studio is still infinitely interesting.  Currensy and Fiend teamed up recently linked up to record and shoot the video for Televised.  Check the method below.

Kaws x Hennessy Limited Edition V.S Bottle.

Since my birthday is just around the corner, I’ve been in a little bit of a drinking mood, and searching for somethign special to buy for myself.  When I heard that Hennessy announced yesterday their exclusive Hennessy V.S bottle collaborative project with world-renowned artist, KAWS, I was disappointed I’d have to wait till it hits shelves in September 2011.  Each Kaws Hennessy V.S bottle features signature Kaws artwork and is individually numbered, making this collectors item that much more special.  The Hennessy KAWS V.S bottle will be sold in 750ml sizes and will retail for $29.99.  The new bottle design will debut later in July at a private launch event in NYC.  In addition to the limited edition bottle, the duo will create multiple digital shorts, which will be distributed throughout the year.

Game Talks About His Lupe Collab.

The Game’s new R.E.D. album may not be as highly anticipated as Dr. Dre’s Detox, but it’s still got the streets looking out for it.  Among one of the least expected collaborations to appear on the album is Game’s track with Lupe Fiasco entitled ‘Skate On’.  Game took some time to talk about the collab, how it came about, and also touched on Lupe’s comment about Barack Obama.

For those of you who didn’t know what all the hoopla was about, concerning Lupe and President Obama, you can read all about it below.

“To me,” Lupe began, “the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America. I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s causing the other forms of terrorism. You know the root cause of terrorists is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists.”

When asked if who he’ll vote for come 2012, he echoed the sentiments of “Words I Never Said,” saying he doesn’t plan on participating in the voting process because he doesn’t believe he can fully support any candidate.

“No, I don’t vote,” he said. “I don’t get involved in politics. It’s meaningless. If I’m going to say I stand behind this person and write on a piece of paper that says, ‘Yeah, I stand for this person,’ then I have to take responsibility for everything he does cause that’s just who I am as a human being. So politicians aren’t going to do that because I don’t want you to bomb some village in the middle of nowhere.”

Fiasco‘s anti-establishment stance is well documented. For those just now being introduced to him, look no further than his latest single, “Words I Never Said,” for his views on politics.

Lil Wayne And Eminem’s Valentines Day Track.

We all already know that Saturday Night Live is notorious for grilling entertainers in the spot light.  One of their newest skits came as a comical parody of a collaboration between Lil Wayne and Eminem.  My good friend Carlee turned me onto the video below, and I haven’t stopped laughing since.  (The Eminem part is almost spot on.)
