The DJ Earworm Addresses The United States Of Pop…. 2018.

For more than a decade, DJ Earworm has been blending the year’s top songs into a massive “United States of Pop” mashup at the end of each year. He began the series in 2007, kicking off with a combo of songs from Soulja Boy, Akon, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Fergie, and more. It’s been 11 years since that inaugural mashup, and Earworm hasn’t slowed down in the slightest.  His 2018 edition just made its YouTube debut on December 4, highlighted by tracks from Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Zedd, Childish Gambino, Marshmello, and more.

The four-minute mashup kicks off with songs from Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line, and Maroon 5 and Cardi B, before cycling through Drake‘s iconic “In My Feelings,” Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s “Finesse,” Travis Scott and Drake’s “Sicko Mode,” and dozens others.  Regardless of your personal taste in music, any TRUE DJ has to admit that this is an impressive feat to accomplish.  Take a listen.

Eminem Is Back… Again (AGAIN).

It seems as if Em has taken the Beyonce route, and randomly released a brand new album titled “Kamikaze” out of the wild blue yonder.  The surprise album is getting a cascading effect of social media reviews a bit late, because no one really knew he was going to put it out.  That being said, there are some surprising tracks on the album including one from the ‘Venom’ movie sound track, but this is definitely one to check out.  Leave any comments you may have about this new release below.  And if you’d like to download it, just click here.

It’s Time To Break The ‘Glass’.

M. Night Shyamalan just tore the roof off of Hall H with the first official trailer for his highly-anticipated Glass, which will feature the return of both Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price and Bruce Willis as David Dunn. Plus, this time, they’re joined by James McAvoy as Kevin Crumb and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, who reprise their roles from last year’s critically-acclaimed Split. The new trailer, which originally debuted at CinemaCon in April, offers plenty of outstanding footage as Mr. Glass partners with The Beast to wreak havoc on the world, leaving only Dunn and Cooke to find a way to stop them.

Enjoy the new trailer below.

The 2018 MTV Movie Award Winners.

Wakanda Forever! We’re still a long way from next year’s Academy Awards but comic book fans are already hoping that Black Panther will be recognised at the ceremony (making it the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nod since The Dark Knight). Regardless, the Marvel Studios movie dominated at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards picking up a number of huge wins at the show.

Stranger Things, meanwhile, took charge of the television field. That’s no great surprise giving its popularity but an argument could definitely be made that the second season wasn’t quite up there with the first! Going back to Black Panther, it’s great to see the movie receive so many awards and it just goes to show that it resonated with moviegoers in a big way. Did you catch the ceremony?

Introducing The Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB3.

Pioneer upgraded one of their most popular Serato DJ controllers to create the 2-channel DDJ-SB3, designed for dedicated use with Serato DJ Lite (previously known as Serato DJ Intro). The new controller offers an intuitive interface for beginner DJs to craft professional performances and improve their skills.

The interface of the DDJ-SB3 is even more intuitive to use than its predecessors, inheriting traits from the layouts of the top models in the DDJ-S series including the introduction of the dedicated play and cue buttons, and the independent Auto Loop button.

In collaboration with DJ Jazzy Jeff, we’ve created Pad Scratch. The brand-new feature on the DDJ-SB3 enables you to reproduce scratches based on the legendary hip hop DJ’s own recordings by simply pressing the Performance Pads. Plus, smooth mixing is a breeze thanks to another new feature, FX Fade. You can use these features to create a professional performance, even if it’s your first time behind the decks.

We Are Venom.

Sony Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for Venom, and it really is a true teaser as we don’t actually get to see the titular antihero in all his glory. Instead, we’re greeted with a variety of action beats featuring Academy Award-nominated star Tom Hardy battling the demon from within.  The footage also provides us with our first official looks at 4x Academy Award-nominee Michelle Williams, Primetime Emmy-winner Riz Ahmed, and several others, but we still don’t have an real idea as to who they’re playing.

Check Out Black Panther’s Amazing New Theatrical Posters.

Last month, Marvel debuted an exciting second trailer for Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther movie, and now the cast has followed that up by sharing some ferocious individual posters featuring their characters.  Black Panther is set to claw its way into theaters on February 9, 2018.

The Queensland Theatre 2018.

Queensland Theatre’s 2018 Season looks to showcase a range of new, bold and exciting plays that pushed the boundaries of contemporary theatre in Australia. After working with the team on both their new brand and 2017 season, we had the chance to at how the identity might evolve and be refined for a new year.  The season leverages one of Queensland Theatre’s unique traits – the set builders and workshop housed within their building. Working alongside their team, we created eight different sets that told a key aspect of each play. We also introduced physical play titles into the sets, pushing the use of their bespoke custom typeface.
Each set was photographed in its completeness, with panels, props and actors all working in harmony to create images that were a true reflection of the effort that goes into each performance.  With Tim Jones and his team expertly lighting and shooting each of the sets, the results were a series of images that explore the subtleties of each of the plays themes, while retaining a vibrancy that spoke to Queensland Theatre’s unique identity and character.

You Thought The Batmobile Was Dope?

With the release of Justice League in just a month’s time, the movie’s marketing is about to come into full effect. This featurette reveals the decisions Zack Snyder and his team took in selecting cars that reflect the characters of Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne.  Diana will drive an E- Class Cabriolet while Bruce will get behind the wheel of the Vision Gran Turismo – a concept car created specifically for the Gran Turismo video game. Some footage of the cast on set can also be seen.  Check the method below.

Michael B. Jordan Will Be ‘Raising Dion’.

Netflix is doubling down on the superhero genre and they’re looking to tell original stories outside of their Marvel Netflix shows.  However, they’re turning to a Marvel Studios actor to spearhead their latest project.  Michael B. Jordan will co-star and executive produce a 10-episode series titled Raising Dion. The series will be based on a 2015 short film of the same name, which you can check out below. This short was created by music video director Dennis Liu (Sia – You’ve Changed, Justin Timberlake – Not A Bad Thing) who provided an official statement in a press release.

I started this project many years ago because I wanted to see more diverse representation on film and television and I’m excited to partner with Netflix and MACRO, who I know shares that commitment. More than ever, we need more stories told from different points of view and my hope with Raising Dion is to create a cinematic experience for all families that will lift your spirits and make you laugh and cry.
