Batman v. Superman Took Some Serious Work.

batman_1

Say what you will about Batman v Superman (and let’s face it, there’s a lot that can be said), but the visuals were amazing. Some were better than others obviously because Doomsday certainly didn’t look that great, but this new VFX reel from Scanline VFX puts the spotlight on how they enhanced this world and created many of the locations most of us probably just assumed were actual places and sets.  The visuals in Snyder’s movies are always pretty distinctive, but this video really emphasises just how different he made our world look to help create the DC Films Universe. Of course, the huge amount of special effects shots no doubt played a big role in why Batman v Superman’s budget was so massive, something which has resulted in its impressive box office haul being considered “disappointing.”  Anyway, watch the VFX reel below and then let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

R+Co Global artist Jason Hall, presents his latest collection Teenage Angst, as part of his 2016 campaign, in this release.  More engaging than the photos themselves, are the captions on to bottom of the polaroids.  They truly do represent some of the thoughts and feelings of teenagers in the modern day.

10 of 2016’s Top Freestyles.

c46812a97227a0e996285ca375ca74d4-1000x675x1

Freestyling is an art form that is one of the most beautiful things to witness in hip-hop. The act of spitting off the top is a skill rappers need to showcase when they’re on a radio show, for their fans at a concert or just kicking it with friends. There’s just something about watching your favorite rapper spit witty wordplay, analogies, double entendres and slip in a diss or two. When a rapper is in the zone, crushing one of the game’s most popular beats, it should get any hip-hop fan excited.

Who can forget The Diplomats or Eminem ripping the mic during BET’s iconic video mixshow, Rap City: Tha Basement? Or Royce Da 5’9, Mr Porter and Slim Shady on Tim Westwood? How about Jay Z freestyling over Kanye West’s “Grammy Family” on Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex show? There was the iconic The Notorious B.I.G. and Nas freestyle where Method Man introduced both of them to the masses as well. The list can go on and on.  In 2016, there’s been a bunch of freestyles that prove rappers young and old still got it. From rising Brooklyn star Young M.A to West Coast veteran The Game and more, hope you enjoyed some of the best freestyles displays of yesteryear.

LL Cool J Is Back In Action After Some Upsetting Tweets.

ll_cool_j_177279

Thirty-one years after the release of “Rock the Bells” and LL Cool J is still hard as hell. The Queens native joined Dr. Dre‘s “The Pharmacy With Dr. Dre” show on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio and laid down a few bars as the Good Doctor mans the board. Sounding as fresh as he did when he first burst on the scene in the ’80s, LL hasn’t lost a step when it comes to his flow and drops a bar that pays homage to his breakout hit “I Can’t Live Without My Radio.” The legendary MC joined the legendary producer’s show back in Sept. 2015, but the footage of the session just surfaced this week.

LL has been adamant about his status as one of the greats throughout the month of March. On March 2, the MC took to Twitter to respond to a blog post that says “there’s a whole generation of kids who’ll never know that LL Cool J was a rapper, and a pretty good one at that.  “Please stop pretending that we all don’t know [that] I’m one of the best to ever touch that mic,” he tweeted. “I stepped away and let you breathe. I can cut off your air supply with one single. Don’t test me…I don’t care if you Google my net worth. It’s more to it than that. I’m telling you on Twitter.”  Forgive the EXTRA long intro in the video below, the freestyle begins at 0:30.

bvsquad2

Everyone loves exciting movie trailers before a film, and with movie previews being released onto the internet before they even hit theaters, people are watching them with a frenzied frequency.  But what happens when trailers reveal TOO much about a film?  Mr. Sunday Movies, (1 half of the Weekly Planet podcast, of which I am a massive fan) delves into how over revealing plot information can destroy the way people walk into a film, and furthermore, 6 disastrous examples of when a trailer has put too much on display about a film.

Daredevil: Season 2, First Reviews.

131415

The first serious look at Daredevil was released a few days ago, however, the first set of reviews for the entire season are starting pour in… Much to no one’s surprise, they seem to be exceedingly positive.  That said, from the sounds of things some of the pacing issues and jarring tonal shifts that became an issue during the Man Without Fear’s first TV outing are also present – but for the most part these initial reactions are very positive.

As expected, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher seems to have emerged as a highlight, with his take on the vicious vigilante being hailed as a brilliantly complex antagonist the same vein as Wilson Fisk. Another new character we haven’t seen as much of is Elektra, so fans should be very happy to hear that Elodie Yung is highly praised for her incarnation of the seductively skilled warrior in every review so far.

rihanna-puma-deal-00

Rihanna’s “Work” video has finally arrived. The wait was refreshingly short for the newfound queen of anticipation, who’s back with the full release after teasing a clip to Twitter Friday.  “Work,” featuring Drake, is the the first single from her long-awaitedAnti, which officially debuted on Tidal Jan. 28 after months of delays. In the first half of the video, directed by Director X, Rihanna “works” her hips as hard as her vocals, grinding on the rapper amidst a dimly lit party.  But when the party ends, another video starts. The second half, helmed by Tim Erem, features just Rihanna and Drake in a pink-lit room. Check the method below.

The Final ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer Is Here.

guardians.of_.the_.galaxy.trailer

Upon waking this morning, I saw an email that there was great news on the horizon.  The first news alert I saw was that The Power Puff Girls were coming back on TV in 2016, but swiftly after that, I realized that wasn’t the news that was supposed to excite me.  The Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s newest and riskiest film endeavor, has a new trailer that answers peoples questions, and ups the action ante quite a bit.  Check out this new, and darker look at G.o.t.G.

Lamborghini Madura

From the darkest depths of the design mind of the one called Slavche Tanevski comes THIS! The Lamborghini *Ankonian. It’s black. It’s sharp. It’s just fabulous. It’s named after a bull famous for its black hair, which follows the Feruccio Lamborghini (creator of the auto brand) tradition of naming cars after bulls. This bad boy is a proposal for the first Lamborghini hybrid scheduled for 2016.

Its Flashy, I don’t mean flashy in any kind of bad way. This car is of a cab-backwards style, which is new for the modern Lamborghini. It’s got a narrow body and complex aesthetics mixed with a combination of soft and angular surfaces.

It’s not quite “green,” but it’s does have that sort of environmental friendliness in mind with it’s downsisedness. And hows it look so hot roddy and light? That fabulous tail on the back, the classic headlight graphics, and those very thin OLEDs embedded between the surfaces. Eccentricities on top of mystery. Two big exhausts as eyes and diffuser for a mouth.
