Leeside Skateboard Mayhem.

Awesome skateboarding videos are all over the place, but can still be relatively hard to pin point.  The Zenga Bros video from Halloween 2011 is one I’m glad I caught wind of though.  From the crazy costumes, to fireworks randomly blasting off, to just the location the skaters chose to shoot, this Skate flick is a serious eye catcher.

Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Les Univers Infinis.

You may recall from last year that Vacheron Constantin created a phenomenal piece unique for Only Watch 2011, the M.C. Escher-inspired “Dove” watch.  At SIHH 2012, Vacheron went on to show off 3 more M.C. Escher-inspired watches in the same style. These pieces are part of Vacheron’s Métiers d’Art collection.  The Dove watch features hand-guilloché work in its final phase of craftsmanship and one bird in this ethereal scene has been diamond-set with 38 brilliant-cut stones.  The Fish watch features cloisonné enamelling, achieved by first marking each outline using fine gold wire before the enamelling process.  The Shell watch features champlevé engraving – each field is hollowed out individually before the enamelling work is added.  Each piece of the Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Les Univers Infinis houses the Vacheron Constantin manufacture Calibre 2460SC with 40 hours of power reserve inside a 40mm case made of 18K gold.

A man suspected of smuggling marijuana across the U.S. border from Mexico is detained by U.S. Border patrols agents in Douglas, Ariz., Sept. 26, 2011. The area, which used to be one of the major crossing points in Arizona, illustrates the cat-and-mouse nature of stopping crossers, the permeability of the much-ballyhooed border fence and the fact that, no matter the dire rhetoric often heard in political circles, crossings at this stretch of border are nowhere near what they once was. The 2011 Miss Reef Calendar Video.

I know quite a few questions will be thrown my way right after readers glimpse the title.  But I’m well aware that 2011 is almost long gone.  That being the case, the folks over at ‘Reef Guys’ know their women no matter what year it is.  Check the video of their brilliant 2011 calendar below.  (And don’t ask why I didn’t know about it until now… I’ll be asking myself the same question all 2012.)

Mercedes SLK 55 AMG vs Ducati Streetfighter 848.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new collaboration with Bologna-based Ducati to be unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show.  The ‘Streetfighter Yellow’ models are designed to celebrate the partnership between the automaker and motorcycle brand.  This partnership has already produced several collaborations such as the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition showcased in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.  This time, the firms have produced both a car and a bike — the SLK 55 AMG and the new Ducati Streetfighter 848, both highlighted in bright yellow, a color variant which Mercedes-Benz says it will bring to production if there is enough demand.

Among the special features on the SLK 55 AMG, the most powerful SLK model ever made, are yellow-illuminated LED door sills and contrasting yellow stitching against black leather in the door panels, shift lever and steering wheel.  The Ducati Streetfighter, also finished in striking yellow, features a revised Testastretta 11° engine with 97 kW (132 hp) and new ergonomics.

Eminem & Yelawolf Talk About Race In Hip Hop.

Check out a small excerpt from the Vibe magazine article with Eminem and his newest artist Yelawolf.

Eminem, what advice do you offer, if any, on being scrutinized for being a white rapper. Do you guys ever talk about race in that way?

Eminem: We make jokes about it, but I don’t think we talk about it in depth. As I was listening to his music, I am not even thinking about any of that shit. It’s just the music. That’s one of the things that’s great about it. I’m not even thinking about it when I hear the music.
Yelawolf: We do poke fun of it because it’s funny. Like, he calls me White Dog.

Oh, you called him that on the BET Awards Cypher. I didn’t realize it was an ongoing joke?
EM: Yeah, or Beige Sheep. [Laughs]
YW: Cracker Nuts. Whatever, I think it’s kinda unspoken.
EM: We deal with it enough as it is. So now, let’s make music.
YW: Let’s make great records. At the end of the day, that’s all there is to do.

Rob Scott x The Band Perry – If I Die Young.

Hip Hop artists have been re-imagining songs from other genres for quite some time now, some are hits, others are misses.  Rob Scott recently took on this challenge on his project ‘To Be Continuted’, and passed the test with flying colors.  ‘The Band Perry’ lends its wonderfully written song to the beat of Rob Scott’s new mix of “If I Die Young” and the combination couldn’t have come out any better.  Check the official video below, and don’t hesitate to download Scott’s mixtape ‘To Be Continued‘.

Play Cloths x Infinite SF.

I’ve said time and time again on this blog that I’m not necessarily the biggest fashion head on the web, however, this doesn’t mean I don’t have an eye for style.  The Infinite store on Post street in SF is one of the places I’ll always go to expend funds one some dope clothes.  Recently during a meeting in the store I saw a shirt that really caught my eye from the brand ‘Play Cloths’, and figured I’d do some research on the entire holiday collection.  Check the method, and if you like what you see, be sure to head into the store and pick some up.

T-Pain ft. Dawn Richard – Fantasy.

I’ve been a T-Pain fan for quite some time, from his music, to his sense of humor, down to his iPhone app, I just appreciate the man’s work.  His new album Revolver has been pushed back time and time again, but since singles from the anticipated CD have begun to drop, it’s very clear that Mr. Pender-ass is taking his music in a new direction.  Check the video for his latest single featuring Dawn Richard titled ‘Fantasy’.

The Top Marques Monaco Line Up.

Organizers of the Top Marques Monaco event are looking to fuel Asia’s love affair with all things related to luxury when they bring their event to Macau next month.  Macau has established itself as the world’s gaming capital over the past decade, and Top Marques Macau (to be staged from November 24 to 27 at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel) will certainly give those gamblers plenty to think about.  Top Marques Monaco has been staged in April for the past eight years at that city’s Grimaldi Forum and has been labeled “The World’s Most Exclusive Auto Show” by The New York Times, and “The Greatest Show on Earth” by the Financial Times.  The event bills itself as the only “live” car show in the world as guests get a chance to test drive the motors.  On show in Monaco have been “the fastest, most technologically advanced, bespoke cars” and the event promises to bring the same formula to Asia.  There will also be the opportunity for some lucky guests to take those cars out on the road as a special 2.1-kilometer test circuit is being established around the venue.

Among the brands on show in Macau will be Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini and the event comes at a telling time for the luxury car market in the region.  After establishing itself as the world’s largest car market, China’s rapid increase in spending on cars has been tempered this year as the country’s banks tighten up on loans and after local governments started to increase road rules and regulations.  For sales of high-end cars in China, that has meant a rise in sales still of 29 percent this year, but the figure doesn’t look as flashy when put up against the rise of 48 percent seen in the luxury car market in 2010.  Running parallel to the main event will be Top Marques Watches and a Jewel Gala, showcasing limited edition, timepieces and jewelry, as well as “pleasure boats, property, art and many other stunning, bespoke luxury products,” say organizers.

The Versace x H&M Lookbook.

H&M has released the first official campaign visuals for its design collaboration with Versace, starring models of the moment Daphne Groeneveld and Lindsey Wixson.  Lensed by photographer duo Mert & Marcus, the images give a first impression of Versace’s greatest hits-inspired collection due to hit stores in November.  The range, which includes both men’s and women’s styles, as well as home accessories, “will look back on the heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, color and exuberance in exclusive materials,” H&M said.  A second collection, also designed by Donatella Versace, will become available in January.  Past designers who have collaborated with H&M include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Sonia Rykiel, and Lanvin.

Shady Records 2.0 – 2011 BET Uncut Cypher.

No matter what crew your allegiance may be pledged to in rap, there’s denying that the new Shady Records team is a force to be reckoned with.  They proved this during the anxiously anticipated 2011 BET cypher this year.  Surprisingly enough however, Eminem wasn’t the only one spitting pure fire and brimstone.  Check the method below to see how the entire crew stacked up.

Georgina Chapman Dresses.

Women’s fashion isn’t necessarily my area of expertise, (if I had my way, a corset and boy shorts would be the standard for going out clothes).  But having an ever increasing number of model clients, is getting me more into appreciating the formal styles that compliment a woman’s look.  Georgina Chapman is someone who a few of my runway models have been pointing out to me for a while. They’ve adored her collection since she and Keren Craig began in 2004.  The delicate lace, soft satin and the tattooed legs (are they stockings? I cant tell) all come together to make another collection I’ll view over and over in admiration of both her style and the bad-ass models wearing it.

T.I. ft. Big K.R.I.T. – I’m Flexin.

Click the pic to download.

Since breaking through with 2010’s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, Big K.R.I.T. has been on rap’s fast track. As an MC, he has worked alongside Bun B, Ludacris and David Banner, and last week, he landed his biggest production credit yet with T.I.  On “I’m Flexin’,” Tip’s first single since being released from Prison last week, the Meridian, Mississippi, producer gave the Grand Hustle CEO a rocked-tinged, Southern-fried banger.  Click the pic to download.

Geoff Taylor Get Some Blue Grass.

The HS Bluegrass Festival happens every so often in the city of San Francisco, and for anyone who’s been there more than once, the music tends to be the primary focus.  The reason I say this, is because after once or twice, you almost know what to expect from the people you’ll see and meet.  Year after year, the festival is stocked with some of the most colorful, interesting, gritty, diverse, and unpredictable folks imaginable.  My boy Geoff Taylor happened to take a trip to the festival this year, and did an amazing job capturing the spirit and ambiance of all the commotion that can take place in SF’s Golden Gate Park during the festival.  His photos exemplify the feel you can expect when you walk through this one of a kind event.

Seriously… A Tupac Sex Tape?

From TMZ:

A five-minute sex tape showing Tupac receiving oral sex while rapping and dancing has surfaced … and TMZ has seen it.  The tape, shot in 1991, begins with a bunch of groupies in a living room during a house party. Tupac walks into the room with his pants down to his ankles, his shirt off … sporting several chains.  Tupac — whose head is shaved — pulls one of the women toward him, and she begins performing oral sex. As she does her thing, an unreleased song of Tupac’s is playing in the background, as Tupac is singing along and dancing, wiggling his hips.  And it gets even better. As the woman services Tupac, who is holding a cocktail in one hand and a blunt in another, Money B from Digital Underground walks over to him. Tupac puts his cocktail arm around Money B, continues singing and dancing … and the woman never stops.  As the tape ends it appears he’s ready to begin sexual intercourse. It’s unclear if there’s another tape.  We’ve learned the person in possession of the tape is making plans to release it.

One thing’s for sure … Tupac was a multi-tasker.

The Mercedes-Benz Perfume?

German automaker Mercedes-Benz has tied up with INCC Group to create its first ever fragrance for men which is expected to be launched in early 2012.  The fragrance was launched at the TFWA World Exhibition retail event held in Cannes, France and goes on sale in the first quarter of next year.  Mercedes-Benz for men was developed by perfumer Olivier Cresp and will be available in Eau de Toilette and matching grooming products.

“Innovative and unique, it is the first men’s fragrance from Mercedes-Benz and it combines woody notes with floral freshness.  The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin.  The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin.  The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli.”

T.I.’s First Interview Out Of Jail.

I respect anyone that can get up and admit when they’ve made a mistake, but you keep making the same mistake over and over, you better come back with a damn good apology.  That being said I was very interested to hear what T.I. would have to say on his first interview back from the slammer.  Check it out below.

Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance

Red Tails

Now… I specially didn’t write anything about WHY I like the other 4 movies on the list, simply because I’d love YOUR input about what you think will be good and why.  However, although it seems like now a days if your the first black man to do anything, you get your own movie after a handful of decades, I was super intrigued by “Red Tails”.  It’s the story of some of the first African-American fighter pilots in WWII, (much like Tuskegee Airmen) but with the backing of Lucasfilm.  With crazy visuals, both new and veteran actors, and a story that can’t really go wrong, this is one of my most anticipated movies of the next 6 months.

Jay-Z Tops Another Forbes List.

Jay-Z tops this year’s Forbes Hip-Hop cash Kings list with $37 million this past year, a little but more than Diddy ($35 million).  ‘Hip-hop’s reigning Cash King continues to reap the benefits of a 10-year $150 million Live Nation deal, as well as stakes in the New Jersey Nets, the 40/40 Club chain, ad firm Translation and others. Eminem Live at Lolapalooza.

At any concert, you have folks that whip out their phones and cameras in an attempt to capture the magic that happens on stage, then share it with the rest of their friends, or just re-watch it later.  Thankfully at the Lolapalooza festival in Chicago, many of the people with cameras had some damn good ones, and when Eminem took the stage to perform, they were all pointed at him.  Below are 3 different selections from Em’s performance from 3 different people, from 3 different angles.  Check the method.
