Base Urbano started in 2016, beginning with using fitness and dance to spread confidence and self esteem. In its initial phase, it began at fitness centers and yoga studios to brighten the light of women in the community. These workshops consisted of mental exercises, and while paired with fitness exercises to encapsulate physical health, it was primarily focused on the health of the mind, not simply the body. As is known to many, the body follows the mind. Over time the workshops became open to everyone, and the style of delivery began to change. Spotify and YouTube are not the only place you can see where every sits currently.
In April of 2024, Serena Dee began to interview other individuals to hear their stories of both tribulation and triumph. One year later, in 2025 Serena began doing on camera interviews. These different people, with different stories from different walks of life demonstrated that everyone has a unique story. It’s obvious and important to let ones story out, but what can’t be known is just what that effect will have on the people who hear them. The inspirational essence that the ‘B U’ brand exudes is something that can’t be quantized. The overarching goal is to make people feel less alone with by connecting. Cross pollination of peoples experiences inform others, which is why its so important to “be you“.
