50 Cent has filed a lawsuit against producer Ryan Kavanaugh over the horror film SkillHouse, alleging he never signed a final contract to participate. Though initially involved as an actor and co-producer since 2022, 50 claims he never finalized an agreement and therefore did not authorize the use of his name or likeness. Despite his presence in trailers and early promotional material, he insists he didn’t agree to the movie’s release without having “creative input.”

In April 2025, he took to Instagram to protest the film’s upcoming release: “This guy Ryan Kavanaugh is doing everything in his power to make me kill this movie,” and “This one is going in the trash CAN!” He added, “They can’t release this MOVIE SKILL HOUSE without my signature, which they do not have,” and warned, “What kinda business are they doing? I’d hate to have to demonstrate.”

He also claimed unpaid dues, writing, “I didn’t get paid,” and “I’m afraid I’m gonna need that by Monday. You already know the vibes!” Meanwhile, Kavanaugh described the project as a genre-defying film for social media and horror fans alike. SkillHouse, written and directed by Josh Stolberg, features influencers and actors like Bryce Hall and Neal McDonough in a deadly, challenge-based story line. To be 100% honest, 50 Cent is the ONLY reason anyone on staff would ever go see this movie, so he’s due what he was promised.
