The Last Airbender (or) Avatar (or) Both.

Bending seems to be in the air. The cartoon “Avatar: The Last Airbender” was a classic cartoon, for both adults and children alike… (don’t believe us, how many adults do you know who are familiar with Pokémon?). But the first movie adaptation was… horrible… like rolling around a hardwood floor with Legos all over it type of horrible. Not to mention the fact that it was already a fraction of the full story, it was crunched for time. Word on the street is that they took money from the final season in order to make this movie, leaving the animated adaptation of the story without an epilogue. (Although there WAS “Sozin’s Comet” which serves as a definitive end to the show). As most know, the series is centered around the journey of twelve-year-old Aang, the current Avatar and last survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, along with his friends Katara, Sokka, and later Toph, as they strive to end the Fire Nation’s war against the other nations of the world. Interesting story right?

So let’s summarize… the show = great for children and children-at-heart alike. The first film = abysmal and any other synonyms you can think of). The new show is intended to take longer to flesh out the story, and the fight choreography and confrontations are said to be far better. However based on the views via Netflix, people still associate it with the bomb of a movie that came before it. However, we still hold hope that this new live series please the fans that it aims to.
