An elevation of natural phenomena and perceptual experience is behind all David DiMichele’s imagined installations. Pushing the envelope of what seems possible, he is creating inspiring art. With his photographs of seemingly impressive, large-scale installations, he gives viewers little chance not to pay attention. His installation photographs are usually shot in low-angle with humans included for scale, and with careful attention to lighting, deep focus, and composition. Unlike most installation photos, however, DiMichele’s documentations are themselves artworks. As their titles reveal, they are ‘Pseudodocumentation’, depicting masterfully made models for works whose full-scale perceptual tricks and awe-inspiring sublimity can only be imagined.

Brazilian architectural practice Danilo Matoso Macedo have completed the JPGN project. Completed in 2012, the contemporary property belongs to a young couple in Brasília, Brazil. This contemporary Brazilian property looks onto Lake Paranoá, with the monumental area of the city on the opposite bank. According to the architect: “The contemporary house was almost fully elevated on stilts at the edge of the height permitted by law, allowing the desired view over the roofs of the neighbours. The property belongs to a young couple without children, the basic programme (room, office, bedroom, kitchen and service area) was distributed only at the top level, facilitating rapid paths everyday, more frequent when children are small. The indoors were arranged to prioritise the vision of the landscape, now converted into a central motif of the project – reverence complemented by a ‘panoramic deck’ provisions freely on the cover slab.
In order to avoid the ceiling topping due to elevation of the main block, the ground floor was treated with staggered landfills. The garage is an intermediate level, along with a service equipped with hoists and installing temporary employee in order to hide the vehicles for users from the balcony above. A small two-bedroom flat was designed for future occupation of stilts, second family life, in which the children would demand more independence – Early prediction of execution by the client in the first moment of the work, providing functional autonomy to the area leisure and allowing its use for any guest. It opens directly to the view the room, the office, and the double bedroom – mediated by a balcony – and indirectly the kitchen connected to the dining room for large sliding panels. The integration between these two environments is enhanced by continuous bench, topped by a set of adjoining cabinets and windows that open yet frontal view of the street.

Chicago based design initiative Mercier-Jones aims to create the future of personal transportation today. All signs point to it as they unveil the first look at their remarkably inventive hovercraft. Futuristic, stylish, and most importantly, functional, the Mercier-Jones Hovercraft open-air vessel is ready to take flight on land or a body of water near you.
Drawing inspiration from a slew of luxury vehicles and supercars, the Mercier-Jones Hovercraft boast a low profile hull along with an aggressive front end and side thrust ports. Traveling on a cushion of air just about surface, the hovercraft seats two comfortably in its highly sophisticated frame featuring carbon fiber and alloy wheels fueled by a hybrid-electric drivetrain. Manufacturing will take place just outside of Chicago.

Sweden based Humans since 1982 teamed up with Australian engineer David Cox to accomplish this mind bending clock concept. This artistic clock re-contextualizes time in a mix of old and new, analogue and digital. The clock is made of 24 two-handed analogue clocks. Six clocks make up a number, each of them displaying either one of its corners or one of its sides. All 24 clocks create one giant display similar to that of a digital watch. This work is notable for its digital/analogue format and the choreography that takes place between the minutes.

At times, the simplest form with least manipulation from its original form can offer visual amenities and adapted solution to the context. California Roll prefabricated house takes this methodology to create its morphological adaptation to its environment : desert. Homogeneous exterior material which provides high grade of energy efficiency and reflects heat from the sun covers the entire surface except for glass panels which is electronically controlled to change its transparency.
To sustain its challenging structural stand, carbon fibre truss frame under neath the exterior material holds the entire architecture. Hydraulic powered automatic doors and security system is used for main entrance door which allows less spaces to operate the door mechanism. California Roll house features these latest technologies applied to architecture which breaks the boundary of product or vehicle design and architectural design which brings more mobility to living spaces. Plain surface on the ground extended from exterior surface provides paved area for out door activities which requires flat and artificial surface different from desert sand surface. As well as surface on the ground, inside of exterior shell is covered with fibre reinforced plastic panels.
In his latest music video, Calvin Harris explores the dirty side of Los Angeles via a surrogate: the devil. Hot on the heels of the video for his smash hit with Florence Welch, “Sweet Nothing,” which delved into the dark side of strip clubs, Harris’s new one features British hip hop artist Tinie Tempah and one petulant horned demon who spews crackpot philosophies on L.A.’s Sunset Strip and masquerades as the devil himself. The video rifes with explicit content, depicts a world full of sin: drug use, gang violence, booty popping, voodoo, female nudity and drinking.

Rapper 2 Chainz throws some random into his new video for “I’m Different,” the latest single off his debut album Based On A T.R.U. Story. Not only does he rock yellow leopard print and his signature bling, he parties on the back of a boat while being towed down the streets of Miami. (As in, not in the water.) The video also features a police carjacking, topless car wash and plenty of hot girls.
“I wrote the treatment for that and I’m really excited to continue pushing the envelope and giving the fans something to see, some excitement again, really building that curiosity up with hip-hop again,” he told MTV. “I’m happy to be one of the frontrunners for that campaign.”
Zarb Champagne shouldn’t have a tough time catching your attention at your local wine boutique. These wild and wondrous champagne bottles are styled in a truly bizarre manner, reflecting the identity of the Zarb brand itself. In French, the word Zarb is slang for “bizarre”, a moniker well suited to this new line of champagne. The bubbly within this bottle isn’t your run-of-the-mill sparkling white either. It hails from the Champagne region of France, so it bears the title of Champagne with true authenticity. This line of packaging might just be the most exotic that a Champagne producer would ever dare to market.
Adnan Alagic, Bojan Kanlic and Amila Hrustic won the competition for the design of the looping bridge five years ago while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts. Called ‘Festina Lente’, which in Latin means ‘make haste, slowly’, the looping bridge spans 38 metres over the Miljacka river and loops-the-loop in the middle to create a shelter with two seats. ‘The basic idea of the bridge is the union of the secular and spiritual,’ explain the designers. ‘The loop on the bridge is a symbolic gate,’ they add.
