Eminem ft. B.O.B. – Things Get Worse.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, I’m happen to be a tremendous Eminem fan, and have been since he first came out.  I’m well aware there was a period when he started to lose the “Slim Shady” that made him an undeniable force in the rap game, and I remember what that music used to sound like.  I’m super excited that he’s back in the game, and I was juiced when I heard about his new track with B.O.B., however when the song started, it just reminded me of when Em was losing his Shady so to speak… This lasted for about 13 seconds until Eminem blasted off on a lyrical tangent about Angelina J. giving head, and how Brat Pitt doesn’t can’t do anything about it.  After that, the song was all uphill from there, and truly reminded me of the ultra-witty rhyme-style Em had back in the day.  That in combination with B.O.B. gracing the track with his presence, this one is a sure thing for the repeat bin in my iPhone.

“Get Paid!”

I’m obviously a fan of MOST things that come out of my home state of New Jersey, but when I heard the track “Get Paid” from I-Dub I knew it would be on repeat on my phone for a while.  Along with the Jersey raised I-Dub, one of my favorite emcee’s Grafh teams up with NY legend Papoose in what can only be described as a lyrical trifecta.  Awthentik laces the track with a nice chorus, which compliments the verses and makes the finished product something that has tons of replay value.  Click the pic to hear the track.

Snoop Dogg – “Wet”

I have an adverse opinion of autotune and other voice altering effects in music (especially since I’m gaining ground as an experienced studio engineer).  But when I heard Snoop’s new single “Wet”, I was thoroughly impressed by the sound he was able to achieve when he stepped out of the box.  The beat is quite simple, (somewhat reminiscent of “Wait” by the Ying Yang Twins, but a more relaxed vibe), and is complimented by a slower style of rap by Snoop that still has the ability to get the right crowd in the club moving.  Click the pic to take a listen, and let me know what you think.

Dr. Dre ft. Eminem & Liz Rodrigues – I Need A Doctor.

So to be totally honest, I’ve been listening to this song on repeat while compiling the information for/writing the last 3 or 4 posts.  (So I’ve heard it no less than 40 times.)  The song strikes a very unique cord, and illuminates some of the previously unknown relationship between Eminem and Dr. Dre.  I know I’ve been waiting for Dre’s album Detox since I was in high school or something ridiculous like that, and no one has gotten a straight answer as to why it’s taken so long to produce.  But Em voices his opinion on Dre’s mindset, as well as some of his thoughts on the relationship between them.  Dre on the other hand goes on to speak on how he feels about certain un-named individuals in the industry, and makes it official that after ‘Detox’ drops, that the Dr. will no longer be in the house.  Liz Rodrigues adds an amazing chorus that gives the song a completeness of concept that I don’t think any other conceivable singer could have delivered as well.  (Much like Haley Williams did for B.O.B.’s ‘Airlplanes’)  But click the pic to hear the song for yourself. (And if the link stop working, let me know so I can fix it.)

Trey Songz & Drake Get “Unusual”

The dynamic duo, Trey Songz and Drizzy Drake are back at it again on the track ‘The Usual’.  The song seem to double as a semi-slow jam, and a club banger.  Check the method and click the pic to download.
