Lia Sabella’s Island Suite.

As much as we’d like it to be, this isn’t a tour of Lia Sabella’s personal island suite, however, it’s something we’d love even more… Her 3rd EP “Island Suite”. The 7 track project features production primarily from ‘F1rst Class’, and is elegantly and filled out with Lia’s mellifluous singing. The songs range in topics like relationships, emotional compromise, and distressing in such a way as to connect with listeners on an emotional level, leaving them feeling relaxed. From the beautiful imagery to the quality of sounds, and fluidity of the entire project, “Island Suite” is one to definitely lay back and relax to, no matter what you may be feeling inside. Take a listen to “Vacation” below, just for a taste of an EP that is for sure to be on repeat in your headphones soon.

Click any of the photos to stream or download the entire R&B project produced by F1rst Class, and once again, beautifully sung by Lia Sabella. If the sultry sounds of this EP don’t leave you in a great place wherever you are, they will definitely make you want to take a getaway… Just look at how relaxed she looks.

Situated off the eastern coast of Africa by Pemba Island, a private floating island at the Manta Resort provides guests with an all-inclusive hotel room submerged four meters below the surface of the ocean. Designed by swedish company Genberg Underwater Hotels, each of the three levels that make up the buoyant building has its own unique view: A rooftop terrace for sun bathing in the day and star gazing at night, a landing deck at sea level equipped with a lounge and restroom, and an underwater hotel room below surrounded by panes of glass for a 360 degree marine panorama. Throughout the day, guests of the resort can remain encapsulated in the submerged hotel room, floating amongst the turquoise blue water swimming with tropical life and coral reef. By night, sleep beside the fish – the bottom platform is illuminated with underwater spotlights beneath each window, attracting a variety rare marine creatures.

The River House.

This rustic retreat was built right in the heart of Three Rivers, California near the entrance to Sequoia National Park where the enchantment of wildlife sightings runs wild. What also happens to run wild is the river that flows under this home, something that has never been done before or ever since.  Kaweah Falls was originally designed in the 1940′s by one of Frank Wright’s very own students, but when the second homeowners moved in and remodeled they decided to add an addition to the home that floats over the river bank.

Aside from a few cool interior features like a dining room with a glass floor view of the river, there is a footbridge over these waters that lead to a private deck where one can sit and listen to the sounds of fresh water skimming river rocks on the way down from a waterfall found right up the mountain. Choosing a vacation spot for these homeowners is definitely a tall order…but who would want to leave this place?

Take A Vacation On A Futuristic Billion Dollar Island.

Real Madrid football club will spend $1bn to build a lavish resort island in the United Arab Emirates, complete with luxury hotels, marina and amusement park.  Executives unveiled plans for the “Real Madrid Resort Island”, featuring an oceanside stadium and hi-tech club museum in the northern Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah, on the doorstep of the lucrative football-mad Asian market.  “Real Madrid Resort Island will be a major tourist and sporting centre of great dimensions and the highest level,” club president Florentino Perez said.  “This is a decisive and strategic step which contributes to strengthening our institution in the Middle East and Asia,” Perez said. “Real Madrid will be present permanently in a key region of the world.”

The complex, with $1 billion of investment and backed by the government of the Emirate, is scheduled to open in January 2015, the club and executives said.  It will include a five-star hotel, beachside bungalows and an amusement park with a rollercoaster and hologram show recreating Real Madrid’s goals.  Sports facilities will include training pitches and swimming pools plus a marina for yachting, as well as the 10,000-seat football stadium open on one side to a view of the sea.

SEED, The Perfect Vacation Companion.

I have this keen sense of attaching places with certain smells, especially when I’m on vacations. For example, whenever I wear this Armani perfume of mine, it triggers of memories of my trip to Japan, because I used that fragrance on my trip.  Likewise, many people associate different images and sounds with their travels. SEED is like a total recall agent that captures the essence of your travels (sights, sounds AND smells) so that you can share them with loved ones.  And when you’re back in your own surrounding, re-live your favorite vacation, using this wonderful device. It’s a wonderful example of how technology can bring back those fond memories.

Basically the unit has three purposes: sharing, remembering & guide.

Sharing.

As a sharing device, you can instantly share your entire environment with family and friends using Sync Experience Service. The balloon-shaped device hovers in the air, capturing an aerial view of the place.

Remembering

The device features a Total Recall Service that amazingly captures the sights, sounds, smells and almost encompasses the mood of the place it records.

Guide

SEED is a complete tourist guide and can give you a personal tour of your destination. It includes navigation capabilities that help you get around the city as well.

All in all, A very ambitious project but for travel buffs like me, it’s something we can do with.

The Perfect Spot In Bali.

Bali, archipelago of the Sunda Islands. Alila Villas Uluwatu is a luxury resort situated in one of the most majestic Indonesian islands, where ultimate comfort lives alongside eco-friendliness.  The Alila Villas Uluwatu complex is a project by the WOHA Design architects’ studio in Singapore, famous for its works in tropical climates, and winner of the 2006 International Award given by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Awarded the Green Globe Environmentally Sustainable certificate for its excellent incorporation into the surrounding environment, the site attained the highest level of ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design).  Some of the criteria used by the ESD evaluation scale include the use of local materials, saving water through marshy areas, waste water recovery systems and the use of plants from the Balinese savannah.

The complex offers the very best one would expect from a five-star facility. On these premises, guests can enjoy an experience suspended between fairytale sky and sea, in a spectacular plateau of the Bukit peninsula. All for a rate ranging between 500 and 3,000 dollars a night per room.

4th Of July on Almanore Lake.

I know that over the last few days, my blog has slowed down quite a bit. The frequency and depth of posts have been slacking since the 2nd of July. The reason for this was me taking a vacation with a couple of friends out on Lake Almanore. We all took off work, came, relaxed, met new people, and had an amazing time Jet skiing, boating, swimming, and drinking. (most of the time we did anything was also spend drinking.) I shared some pictures and videos on my personal facebook page, but the ones for the public are just below. Check the method. (And thank you SO much to everyone who was there to make that trip so fun.)

Underwater Hotel Room.

This is NOT Photoshop

What’s one way to show a little spontaneity in an un-adventurous vacation? How about a meeting under the sea. Ithaa, the world’s first all-glass undersea restaurant at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, is celebrating its fifth anniversary by turning its underwater restaurant into a suite built for two.   The Maldives resort is offering guests the chance to spend the night under-water by turning the restaurant into an exclusive suite for two, complete with a private champagne dinner and breakfast in bed. (Caveat: Private in this sense means more underwater sea creatures and less humans.) Resting16 feet below the Indian Ocean, the restaurant-turned-romance room is surrounded by a vibrant coral reef and encased in clear glass. Using aquarium technology, “Ithaa” meaning “pearl”in the Maldivian language of Divehi, was built to allow guests to enjoy the color, clarity and beauty of the Indian Ocean without getting their feet wet.  Diners at Ithaa Undersea Restaurant enjoy a set-menu of 23 different dishes over four courses. The restaurant is adults-only for dinner (children can join for lunch) and it only seats 12 people.   The cost of this little luxury? $320 per person for dinner. Want to spend the night? The price is available upon request, depending on your dates of travel.
