The Official (Live Action) ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Netflix Trailer.

Between Dave Chappelle’s ground breaking specials, ‘Squid Games’, and Australia’s ‘Why Are You Like This’, Netflix’s stock just keeps going up. This treasure trove of new content is only getting more interesting, especially with the addition of a live action rendition of ‘Cowboy Bebop’. There have been endless attempts at bringing Japans’ most popular anime shows or movies to live action with some blockbusters like ‘DragonBall’, ‘Alita: Battle Angel’, ‘Ghost In The Shell’, ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’, and ‘Speed Racer’. (Remember all of those well loved, wonderfully reviewed classics?). But in what seems to be the beginnings of a turn-around for Anime to live-action misadventures, ‘Cowboy Bebop’ seems to be an honest attempt at making this transition right. When taking a look at the first trailer for this experiment below, you can’t help but think to yourself… “This one actually looks pretty good.”

Magical Chocolate?

This Brownie Stuffed Magic Chocolate Ball with Caramel is a decadent dessert when hot caramel melts the chocolate to reveal a brownie and fresh raspberries too! Our salted caramel sauce is the perfect finish to this magical dessert that looks oh so fancy but is so easy to make! You can also pour hot fudge on top of this magic chocolate ball which is more common but I say why not have caramel and fudge.  Check out the crash course/at home version of the recipe below… for those of us who aren’t gourmet chefs.

Dave Chappelle is BACK. (again)… (AGAIN).

It started with “The Age Of Spin”, and has spun out of control from there with the resurgence of Dave Chappelle. He’s gone from Comedy Central show host to legend as soon as he quit the Chappelle show, and seemingly out of nowhere, his return rocked the comedy scene. The promotional ads for his newest Netflix special seem to ask the same question, how do you finish a run of HOURS of comedy that has been this prolific. Since Chappelle started his first special with Morgan Freeman narrating, comedy fans and audiences alike have been waiting for an epic conclusion while never wanting them to end at the same time. Take a look as some of the promos as you may be waiting anxiously for TOMORROW, October 5th, 2021. ‘The Closer’ can only be followed by the wait for whatever Chappelle decides to do next.

DJI, a company specializing in the development of flight control technology, has introduced their latest photography drone, the ‘Spreading Wings S900′.  Like most of their remote-controlled helicopters, the automated device features advanced autopilot technology coupled with a unique gimbal stabilization system, delivering video footage and images of comparable quality to those shot on manned helicopters.  The device has a lightweight, highly portable frame; the arms and landing gear are made of carbon fiber, which increases stability and strength without sacrificing performance.  The portable drone is designed with arms that fold in order to save space, a redesigned and rebuilt power distribution system with gold-plated metal bearings that secure the power cords during flight, and a removable upper center board, meaning set-up time just takes a few minutes.  Combined with 4114 pro motors and 1552 folding propellers, the S900 has a maximum thrust of 2.5 kilograms.

Retractable landing gear and a special low gimbal mounting bracket give users a wide range of possible shooting angles and camera motions.  The latest motor adopts a single wire stator design, offering improved heat dissipation and better performance.  Each arm is designed with an 8° inversion and a 3° inclination, making the aircraft more stable when rolling and pitching, yet more flexible when rotating.  As the gimbal bracket is separated from the main frame by specially designed dampers, it significantly reduces high-frequency vibrations, resulting in a clearer and sharper shot.  The specs are readily available online for anyone looking to purchase.

To commemorate ‘the most successful sports car ever produced – of which over 820,000 were sold’, the official Porsche museum in Stuttgart will host four special exhibitions, including an early model 911 turbo coupe, 1981 911 cabriolet concept, a 1997 GT1 version supercar and a pre-series type 754 T7  – leading to the final ’50 years of the Porsche 911 exhibition which will be hosted from june 4th until september 29th 2013. Suntory Rolling Stones special Whisky

Japanese distillery Suntory will release a special-edition blended whisky to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Rolling Stones. The whisky will go on sale on Oct. 30 and will come in a bottle shaped in the band’s familiar tongue and lips design. Only 150 bottles will be offered. Six whiskys will be blended for the limited edition version, and each ingredient will come from a year of special significance to the Stones. A 1962 Yamazaki represents the year the band was formed, while a 1971 pays tribute to the introduction of the tongue and lips logo. A 1972 Yamazaki malt has been chosen as the year that “Exile on Main St.” was released (the album is significant to Suntory because it includes “Rocks Off,” a song used in its commercials). The other whiskys in the blend will be a Hakushu malt and a Chita grain, both from 1990, when the Stones made their first trip to Japan. Like tickets to the Stones’ concerts, the whisky will not come cheap. Suntory is planning a retail price of 500,000 yen ($6,300) for each 700-ml crystal bottle.

The Evolution Of Paint.

Valencia-based designers Culdesac have created ‘The Paint Evolution’ for the paint company Valentine.  Their collaborative project celebrates the ever changing nature of artistic tools and implements within the valentine brand.
Brushes and rollers in this creative collection feature an interactive, form-as-function approach to the construction of each piece.  One may anticipate the mark and movement of the implement in an artist’s hand simply by examining the form of each object.

‘Genetic mutations give birth to imaginative instruments: the brush compass, pendulum or whip give us a clue to the behavior of paint through sketches and through history’

Maserati Unveils Its First Ever Luxury SUV Kubang.

Maserati revealed its first-ever sport utility Tuesday that targets the lucrative luxury crossover market with Italian styling and part but constructed in Detroit.  The Kubang fills a hole in Maserati’s product line nine years after the company first showed a sport luxury SUV concept car at the 2003 Detroit auto show.  “The Kubang concept creates discontinuity by entering a new segment and continuity by maintaining the integrity of Maserati’s DNA,” the company said.  Maserati, part of the Fiat group that owns the number three US automaker Chrysler, will make the new car alongside Chrysler’s Jeep Cherokee at its Detroit plant.  But Wester insisted that it would be a fully Maserati-designed and equipped car with a Maserati engine built by Ferrari.

Carlos Mencia – Having Perspective.

I had a conversation with one of my best friends about the 2012 elections, and I made some pretty logical points.  During the course of that little talk, a third party asked if I was quoting comedian Carlos Mencia.  After a little research, I found the spot they were talking about.  Check the method below.  All in all, Carlos is just happy that we have a president in office. See Carlos’ new special “New Territory,”

Tip Harris has been a well known face in the Hip Hop community for many a year, but some of the decisions he’s made in his personal life since his entrance into the spot light have been a bit… odd.  Weather you’ve been waiting for it since it was announced, or never cared enough to remember hearing about it, T.I.’s reality show has almost reached the airwaves.  VH1 released a preview recently about the man, the mogul, and the myths that surround his mind-state.  Check the method below.

From Berlin Germany, MetroFarm Studio has produced a number of stunning, custom built DJ Desks. Having released a concrete DJ table a couple of years back, the new desks, in folded stainless steel and wood painted black and neon orange demand attention.  But they’re not just for finely tuned vinyl slingers looking for the perfect ergonomic ratios to heighten their musical flow. The Anotomy Of A Mashup.

Mashups are all over the place, they come and go, and are part of the music entertainment world. But few people outside of the select few know what it takes to compile a solid mashup. Fortunately I was told that one of the incredible Daft Punk mashups I’ve acquired recently from Cameron Adams, came with a chart of all the songs it was blended with, and a real time map of the mixing. Click the pic below (or above) to see this intricate and interesting look about the making of a mashup.

Nicki Minaj on E.

Last night, (unbeknownst to me) there was a special playing about Nicki Minaj, and her life both before and during stardom.  The program on E featured testimony from Nicki’s mother, father, and everyone down to her 5th grade teacher and Lil Tunchi himself.  To be 100% honest, I’m not sure how long these video’s will exist on YouTube, but if the links fail, I’ll do my best to replace them.  But before that happens, check out the E tv story on Nicki Minaj.

The Bombay Sapphire Imagination Installation.

Bombay Sapphire has launched a global campaign called ‘Infused With Imagination’ that pays tribute to the heritage and the origin of the luxury spirits brand.  The artwork was created by a group of designers, led by Darren Simpson, and is formed through a series of illustrated panels decorated with a total of 75,000 crystals.  Illustrator Yehrin Tong was inspired by the definition of infused to create a dream-like image that “feels like an organic mixture of images both natural and mythical”.  The work was installed in a disused church. Panels were positioned to appear as though they were spilling out of the top of a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, if viewed from the right perspective.  Photographs of the installation will be used for print, outdoor and digital ads and a film about its creation will be seeded online and shown in cinemas.

It’s Gambling Time.

One of the highlights of Baselworld 2011 will be the 21 Blackjack by Christophe Claret, a watch that is specially created to allure casino lovers.  Massively complicated, the 21 Blackjack has a brand new Christophe Claret movement in it called the BLJ08.  But what really matters is that in addition to the time it lets you play three games: dice, roulette and cards.  The luxury watch features a pair of really small dice (1.5mm each side), a card game (including the bell ring) and a roulette on the back, with a visible rotor as its wheel.  The whole thing is powered by an automatic movement featuring 40 jewels, 501 parts, 7 double ceramic ball bearing mechanisms and a power reserve of 72 hours.  A total of 21 Christophe Claret Blacjack watches will be made (in 3 a variety of titanium black PVD, white gold, rose gold, platinum).  The Christophe Claret Blacjack watch price is $200,000 – $225,000, depending on the metal.

The Human Planet.

It shouldn’t be any kind of secret and that I get my nerd on pretty often, but I was suprised to know a few of my close comrades were just as excited as I was to watch the preview for a new BBC special titled ‘Human Planet’. The BBC and its affiliates are the same folks responsible for bringing the specials ‘Life’ and ‘Planet Earth’ to TV screens and DVD players all over the place. This mini series however doesn’t focus on the strange, unseen world of the animal kingdom, but it focuses on foreign cultues that are rarely seen, observed or documented, which makes the ads for ‘Human Planet’ extremely intriguing. Check the method below to see more.

Hannibal Barca Bey (Hannibal of Carthage)

Last week, Duckworth of Tokyo 24, his photographer, and myself sat down in my living room, and had a very intellectual conversation about the merrits of Black History Month, and its relation to African Americans, and Africans.  Long story short, the conversation boiled down to us discovering one of the most bad-ass dark-skinned warriors of all time.  Hannibal of Carthage would legit make Leonidas piss in his red banana-hammock.   Check the video series below about this epic warrior who was credited as the father of advanced military strategy.  And if your a youth who’s still in school, when Black History Month rolls around, tell your teachers you want to learn about Hannibal Barca Bey.

The Camera Corner.

Now, if you scroll back any more than 2 pages, you’ll probably find some collection of work from a photographer that has thoroughly impressed me, or has displayed some stunningly inventive techniques in their body of work that landed them on this blog.  But one thing I’ve never focused on was the camera.  A camera is the only thing that can help people capture moments in time, that can double as a tool to create a work of art for certain photographers, so when I saw a sick collection of vintage, film, collectors cameras, I had to throw them up.
