Vertical Vinyl.

Introducing “o-ton”, a vertical, wireless turntable which lets you import and digitally enhance your vinyl records. It’s almost entirely translucent, so you can see all the inner workings and, of course, your vinyl’s unique cover art. The design features a digital stylus that automatically turns your device on if you insert a vinyl. With an integrated optical sensor, the stylus can identify and jump individual tracks. Simply plug it in, pair your device, insert a vinyl, select your speaker and dance.

Skratch Bastid & DJ Izn – Cold Cut (Live).

In a cold city in the middle of nowhere, Canada, Skratch Bastid and Izn got together to hastily record right before their show. Within an hour of meeting each other, we were at the IMP Labs in the U of R, recording a routine! “Cold Cuts” is a layer of new school sounds flavoured with a touch of the old school. Funky, soulful and G-ed up all in one.

Scratch That Itch Competiton.

I love DJ competitions, especially if the prizes are dope.  Unfortunately for me, I’m technically ineligible to enter Serato’s newest gig.  But if your a DJ, and you own an Allen & Heath Xone:DX controller for Serato ITCH, have at it.  If you want to get your hands on some seriously cool accessories to super size your studio then polish up your routine and enter our Xone:DX video competition.  All you need to do is show us your skills by filming a short DJ routine using Serato ITCH with the Xone:DX. There’s a massive prize pack up for grabs featuring:

  • Two premium QSC K10 Active Loudspeakers.
  • An Audio Technica ATM 410 microphone, the perfect match for your Xone:DX.
  • A copy of top harmonic mixing software Mixed In Key.
  • Allen & Heath headphones XD-40 to complete your Xone:DX listening experience.
  • A Gold Edition Signature Series Crane laptop stand with a gold subtray & gold knob and lever set.
  • A stylish Mono 365 DJ Pack, the perfect size to take your Xone:DX and laptop on the road.
  • A Decksaver Xone:DX Dust Cover to protect your precious controller.

Film your routine, upload it on Youtube or Vimeo and post a link on the Serato H.Q Facebook page (or tag us from your page). The video should be no longer than 5 minutes and must be performed with the Xone:DX and Serato ITCH.  The competition closes on 22nd of April 2011, and the winner will be notified via Facebook by 6th of May 2011.  Good luck to all the DJ’s who enter.
