Beverly Hills Bachelor Pad By Michael Palumbo

Beverly-Hills-Bachelor-Pad-by-Michael-Palumbo-1

If there was an award for the greatest bachelor pad on Earth, this Beverly Hills masterpiece would certainly be a contender for the title. 1201 Laurel Way is a modern mansion designed by Michael Palumbo and his team of architects. There are few places more desirable than Los Angeles when it comes to living destinations. Sure there’s the smog problem everyone promotes so much, but the place really is beautiful. This 6 bedroom, 10 bathroom residence takes advantage of the stunning coastline views LA has to offer with floor to ceiling windows used heavily throughout the home along with a rooftop terrace and infinity pool to really take it all in. The open floor plan creates a nice social setting, and the spacious garage has plenty of room for your McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and Aston Martin.

McLaren P1 Broke Record on The Nürburgring Ring

McLaren-P1-600x375

A video posted to YouTube shows the UK supercar company’s latest flagship, the P1, setting an unbelievable lap time of just 6 minutes 47 seconds. If true, then that would make the P1 the fastest street-legal production car in history to lap the historic and terrifying circuit, known in the trade as the Green Hell. The 12.8-mile (20.6km) undulating track has in recent years become the proving ground for any car with sporting aspirations. As a result, those that know base their supercar and hypercar buying decisions not on acceleration or top speed, but on that all-important lap time. Currently the production car lap-time record is held by the equally rare and exotic Porsche 918 Spyder. In September it became the first such car to lap the circuit in less than seven minutes, posting a confirmed time of six minutes, 57 seconds. To put that into perspective, the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 managed it in seven minutes 19 seconds and the mighty Ferrari Enzo in seven minutes and 25 seconds. All of which would make the McLaren time — it shaves a whole 10 seconds off the record — even more remarkable.

“There are a few special projects that come around in one’s career – the opportunity to work with one of the world’s best brands and a product that defies definition. When the  opportunity to work on McLaren presented itself, we were sold. It was gametime. The rest was a whirlwind of fast cars and late nights. “- The creative directors of the project.

The memoR combines bespoke paint and carbon fiber body work to bring an even greater air of exclusivity to the standard McLaren MP4-12C supercar.  Since its official launch in 2011, the McLaren MP4-12C supercar has been covered with praise for its phenomenal speed and handling, and yet some in the motoring press have been slightly critical of its looks, suggesting that compared to its two biggest competitors — the outrageously styled Lamborghini Aventador and the angry lines of the Ferrari 458 Italia — the McLaren is a bit of a wallflower.  However, all of that is about to change. For the sum of €95,000 on top of the €200,000 standard retail price, HAMANN Motorsport is offering an extreme makeover that will not only make the McLaren stand out from other supercars, but from pretty much everything else on the street.

McLaren P1 Concept Revealed Ahead Of Paris Debut.

McLaren has revealed the first photos of the P1 concept, which will be shown at the Paris Motor Show, previewing the hypercar that we’ll all know as the new McLaren F1.  “The McLaren P1 will be the result of 50 years of racing and road car heritage. Twenty years ago we raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1 and our goal with the McLaren P1 is to redefine it once again,” explained Ron Dennis, who helms McLaren Automotive. “Our aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit,” adds McLaren MD Antony Sheriff. Performance-wise, the supercar should at least be on the same level as the brand new 12C Spider (625hp, top speed of 328km/h and capability to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.1 seconds).

McLaren fans will have to wait for the Paris Motor Show, from September 29 to October 14, to get more info on the speedster’s specs. The model on display in Paris will be a concept, with the company aiming to launch a production model by the end of 2013. The P1 is expected to cost £800,000, but with production limited to 500 models, the P1 production run may be sold out to existing McLaren clients and high-profile collectors without going on general public sale.
