California’s ‘Oak Pass’ House.

Build a massive house made of concrete in the middle of a grove of 130 beautiful protected old oak trees and you have an ugly disaster in your hands.  This scenario sounds likely but it was elegantly avoided in the Oak Pass Main House that Walker Workshop designed for a private client in Beverly Hills, California.  The house sits on a 3.5-acre site at the rim of a canyon, which is why the fantastic views were the main consideration of the house plan.

The ornate oak trees provide a contrast for the hard edges of the low-lying house – a delicate balance not easily achieved.  The use of glass allows for views and vistas over and through the house and makes the mass of the house seem much smaller than it is.  Structural concrete is the main building material as it lets large spans of space to flow into each other without columns or supports.  All of this leads to a calm harmony between the site and the elegant minimalist house.

The 8,000 square-foot (743 sq.m.) single-family residence includes four bedrooms on the lower level beneath the green grassy roof, two kitchens, a dining room, a living room, an office, a 900-bottle wine room, an exercise room, a media room, four bathrooms and a powder room, a foyer and an art gallery courtyard plus a garage.  This large residence is on the same property with the much written-about Oak Pass Guest House that Walker Workshop completed in 2013.

Beverly Hills Bachelor Pad By Michael Palumbo

Beverly-Hills-Bachelor-Pad-by-Michael-Palumbo-1

If there was an award for the greatest bachelor pad on Earth, this Beverly Hills masterpiece would certainly be a contender for the title. 1201 Laurel Way is a modern mansion designed by Michael Palumbo and his team of architects. There are few places more desirable than Los Angeles when it comes to living destinations. Sure there’s the smog problem everyone promotes so much, but the place really is beautiful. This 6 bedroom, 10 bathroom residence takes advantage of the stunning coastline views LA has to offer with floor to ceiling windows used heavily throughout the home along with a rooftop terrace and infinity pool to really take it all in. The open floor plan creates a nice social setting, and the spacious garage has plenty of room for your McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and Aston Martin.

Tyga Ft. Rick Ross – Dope (Official Video)

tyga-2-1024x616

Tyga released an official music video for his song “Dope” featuring Rick Ross on his VEVO YouTube channel. The video is just over five minutes long and it features a high speed car chase. The video begins with Tyga walking up to a parked car and shooting the driver. Tyga then gets into his own car and drives away. Right as he drives away cops begin to follow him and a high speed chase around the city begins. The rest of the “Dope” music video switches between scenes of the car chase and Tyga rapping inside a mansion with Rick Ross. The song “Dope” is the lead single from Tyga’s upcoming third studio album, “Hotel California”.

DJ Khaled’s Birthday At Mansion In Miami.

The pic above of DJ Khaled rocking his old Terror Squad chain of yesteryear, but since his old days of T.S. he’s moved on to bigger and better things.  A new label (Young Money), a new boss, (Lil Wayne), and a new crew (YMCMB), but most importantly, a new year brings new challenges, and at his birthday party at Mansion in Miami, his old friends came by wish the big man luck on his new endeavors.  Check the video below.

Boating Around The Port Of Maimi.

99% of the time I travel, it’s either for business or for vacation.  Rarely do I ever mix a trip up with a bit of both, but my recent voyage to Miami was just that.  My assistant and I stayed up the entire night before to leave at 3 in the morning, jumped on our plane before the sun came up, made a short trip to Texas, and got into MIA before night fall.  Immediately the next morning we got up and started drinking before grabbing some food at the beach and getting down to business.  Most of our days were like that until our last, where some friends and one of my cousins linked up and took an interesting, and very relaxing trip on a private boat around some of the water ways of Miami.

Aside from a few dolphins that were chilling by our boat, some of the highlights of that morning were some of the sights around Star Island.  We peeped out one of Diddy’s cribs, saw one of the original MTV Cribs houses, and even swung by a MONSTER boat owned by the prince of some Arab nation… and his “shadow boat” that was equally as big, required 30 crew to operate, only carried his cars, smaller boats, and other various toys, and who’s sole purpose was to follow his main boat around just in case he needed some extra entertainment.  (Baller).  I took some pics of a couple of other attractions.  Check the method below.

The $22 Mil. Yacht where they filmed "I'm On A Boat".

The most photographed house in Miami... The mansion where they filmed Scarface.

Gloria Estephan's house next to Sylvester Stalone's place. (Don't mind my finger in the corner)

The pool house of Al Capone's Maimi compound.

And once again, an infinite thank you to Kamekia, Danny, B, Ash, and Jay.

Tony Stark’s House Is On The Market.

Remember that luxury mansion that Tony Stark used in the Iron Man film series? Well it turns out that it’s just been put up for sale for a whopping $25 million. The 11,000 square feet luxury mansion comes with 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and private access to Black’s Beach. As you can see from the photos, you get an amazing view and some incredible architecture for your money.  Too bad it doesn’t come with it’s own Iron Man armor for the weekends. Luckily I’ve already got my own Pepper Potts.

How Do You Say Mansion In Thai?

Listed at a cool $280,000,000.00 THB (Thailand Baht) or approx. $8.66 million USD, this gorgeous 4-bedroom villa can be yours today! A beautiful oceanfront property on the beach of Kamala in Phuket, Thailand; this property resides on a secluded stretch of coastline on the western part of the coast. I couldn’t find much information on the residence beyond what was available from the listing and most of the content was just fluff about tranquility and the timelessness of the design.  Thankfully there’s plenty of pretty pictures for you to draw your own conclusions.  It makes me want to go back to Thailand that’s for sure! Various tidbits of information sprinkled throughout, enjoy.

One of L.A.’s Finest Luxury Homes.

I’m a big fan of nice homes, especially the ones that fall into the luxury bracket.  But this luxury LA property, with the interior designed by Marc Canadell is a contemporary masterpiece set in an acre of land for those who value privacy and tranquility in my favorite busy city. The interior has been finished using high quality materials and luxury furniture throughout. The property compromises of of over 9000 square feet of luxurious living space, with five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, bespoke kitchen, stunning city views and an outdoor cinema projector.

$8,900,000 Windermere Mansion.

Today, I came across yet another contemporary masterpiece, this one set on a 0.93 acre parcel in a sought-after Windermere location.  The lakefront home, of over 9,000 square feet, offers high-end finishes and detailing throughout, such as the Calcutta gold marble flooring in the master and Swarovski crystal insets on the fireplace. (Baller).  The 4-year-old home was very tastefully designed, influenced by multiple cultures and styles to showcase true harmony.  Featuring 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, the award-winning residence will impress even the most discerning buyer, with it’s fine, unique amenities inside and out.  These include a swimming pool, ample deck space, a floating glass elevator, dock, and sweeping views of the lake, which is right out your back door.

Check A Home In The Hollywood Hills.

This beautiful house with direct view on Lake Hollywood combines glass and stone in an elegant and luxurious finish.  The spaces are opened and the shapes rectangular for the most part. The fascinating floating living room has completely retractable windows inviting the nature within through the carefully designed terrace. The metal details on the wooden walls add a studied roughness, completely unexpected when first looking at this stylish interior. I like the multi bauble ceiling lamp from the kitchen, it’s a new interpretation of a classic cooking space.

Underground Mansion

A Subterranean Mansion. Let that sink in your mind. Subterranean. Mansion. With a water slide that goes from the master bedroom to a swimming pool with waterfalls. The best three million dollars you could ever spend.
