In the “Grass Is Always Greener” video we get two Ludacrises’, one wearing a bucket hat with a bunch of sexy ladies, while the other one is a more conservative family man. The two are new neighbors, and that sets up the storyline for the visual.  It reflects struggles he deals with in his own life and it shows in the lyrics and setting of the song. It just sounds very real and is one of my favorite tracks of his new album, which is out now, called Ludaversal.

Watch the new music video above. It’s off his recent album Ludaversal, in stores now.

Most Rappers Are Lying About Their Money

businessweek-most-rappers-are-lying-about-their-money-1

From expensive clothes to gaudy chains and customized rides, wealth has always been a major talking point in the hip-hop community – especially in rap lyrics. As Jay-Z chides on Magna Carta… Holy Grail‘s “Versus” track, “The truth in my verses versus your metaphors about what your net worth is.” Thus, Businessweek recently launched an inside look into hip-hop’s dubious tales of extraordinary wealth. The results confirm Hov’s skepticism of rap’s tried-and-true rags-to-riches narrative – one in which Jay has taken part in the truest sense while others’ claims to a cache of prosperity are, in truth, mostly unrealized. Here, Businessweek hilariously ousts some of the industry’s worst offenders – and most “humble” lyricists – with a telling “Actual Wealth vs. Alleged Wealth” comparison.

Ludacris ft. Usher and David Guetta – “Rest Of My Life”

The song was written by David Guetta, Marvin Scandrick, Christopher Bridges, Giorgio Tuinfort, Oscar Salinas, Usher Raymond IV, Juan Salinas Jr.

Ludacris feat. Usher & David Guetta – Rest Of My Life

Def Jam

Ludacris has released a new single off his upcoming eight studio album, ‘Ludaversal.’ ‘Rest Of My Life’ features appearances from Usher and David Guetta (who also produced the song). It is the third single off the forthcoming album. With the success of ‘Jingalin” and ‘Representin” still lingering, ‘Rest Of My Life’ has a new vibe for Ludacris. With David Guetta producing the song, the EDM sound has given a new feel to correlate with the flow of Ludacris’s raps. The high energy dance beat from Guetta mixed with the hip-hop and R&B feel from Ludacris and Usher gives ‘Rest Of My Life’ a very diverse and unique sound that we haven’t got to hear from Ludacris yet. The powerful beat breaks in the song provide a good balance of hip-hop and pop. “I’m on a journey, yeah, I’m on a roll/Sometimes gotta close my eyes, just to open my soul/And tonight is the night, I gotta feeling that I’m about act a fool/So if you go fix some drinks me and Usher are about to break some rules.” Though the rap verses from Ludacris are as solid as they have ever been, Usher provides the melody in the chorus. “If you live for something, you’re not alone, my friend/So fill up your cup and, lift your lighter, and toast to life.” ‘Rest Of My Life’ is a new page in the novel of Ludacris, but with all the talent in this song, there’s no doubt that ‘Rest Of My Life’ is going to be hitting hard over the speakers in clubs for quite some time.

Ludacris ft. Waka Flacka – Rich & Flexin.

Earlier this week, I put up another new Ludacris music video, in which the post surrounding it was focused on the “beef” between Luda and Big Sean.  This video however is quite the opposite.  Luda tag teams with Waka Flacka to deliver what I personally think is one of the most under-rated songs of 2011.  I’ve had a hold on this track for about 4 months now, and just waiting for it to get big on the radio, but no dice.  I’m hoping the video will help boost the track’s popularity.  Check the method.

Ludacris – Big Bada Boom.

Beef in Hip Hop is something that has been around since the beginning and will continue to be around until the end.  Essentially all beef boils down to, is not liking someone, which happens in the real world all the time.  You may have a gripe with a co-worker, a slight inclining of hatred for your brother in law, or a discontent with someone you did a favor for.  When it’s in Hip Hop, you have massive celebrities who are known all over the world sending messages that can be heard by millions, so things tend to be a bit more intense.  I personally have no idea why Ludacris went after Big Sean with his newest track ‘Bada Boom’, but it seems to have people talking. (I’ve also heard through the grapevine that Luda is also taking shots at Drake with this song, but I don’t see how).  Take a look and give some feedback on Luda’s video for ‘Bada Boom’.

Ludacris – Can You Buy That?

Ludacris has always been an artist I’ve had a lot of respect for, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.  His newest release “Can You Buy That” is essentially another bragging rights track about what he has that most don’t.  This theme may seem a bit old or monotonous by now, but the beat, and a chorus laced with the sample “mutha f*cka can you buy that?!” has an interesting Kanye West type of feel to it that gives the song a unique edge.  His lyrics are sharp as ever, (he even quotes ‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Street Fighter’) and weather you like the subject matter or not, this track is a good one.  Click the pic above to take a listen.

Ashley Logan.

Ashley Logan is an incredible Irish and Hungarian model straight out of New York City.  This 5’2 video vixen has been in music video with everyone from G-Unit, Grafh, Kay Slay, Papoose, Junior Reid, Tony Yayo, Juelz Santana, The Dream, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Ludacris, and of course the ever famous FloRida video ‘Low’.  You can also see her and her two amazing, round, full, mesmerizing… blue eyes in Riding Big Magazine (Ying Yang Twins Edition), Next Level (the Mary J Blige Edition), the cover of Free Agent Magazine, as well as both Straight Stuntin and Smooth Magazine.  She’s a constant reminder of how beautiful women on the East are.

‘Welcome To My Hood’ – Official Remix Video.

During the Lil Wayne ‘I Am Still Music’ concert I attended on Easter, Weezy stopped the show and told the crowd to throw their hands up if they were raised in the hood, and I had to keep it real, be honest, and keep quiet… until my assistant started screaming, (at which point I had to break my silence tell her to shut up, because she wasn’t raised in the hood either).  But regardless of my upbringing, I still thoroughly enjoy DJ Khaled’s song ‘Welcome To My Hood”, and hearing his fully loaded remix is dope, but the video is even doper, check the method below.

Furiously Dangerous.

The ‘movie soundtrack’ single is something that producers inject into the public to boost awareness of an upcoming film.  Most of the time it doesn’t really work, or falls short of a track the general public respects as anything more than a publicity stunt.  The song “Furiously Dangerous” however is a totally different ball game.  Mr. Porter laced an energy packed beat that Ludacris, the entire Slaughterhouse team and Claret Jai totally demolish.  Click the pic to listen to the first single off the “Fast Five” soundtrack.

Throwback Video: Busta Rhymes – Break Yo Neck.

Click the pic to watch the video.

When it comes to classic hip hop videos, Busta Rhyme’s “Break Yo Neck” stands out as one of my all time favorites. From the spontaneous dancing red men, Busta humping a steam-roller cruising down the street, to the uber-random headbutt-battle in the middle of the video, “Break Yo Neck” was one of the greatest of its time.  The video featuring appearances from Spliff Starr, Cee Lo Green, Diddy, Timbaland, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Dr. Dre and a small hand full of others, (unfortunately the d*cks over at SME won’t let me put the video on this page) so click the pic above to check out the 2001 video for “Break Yo Neck”.

Some New Summer Movies For You.

New isn’t exactly the most appropriate word to describe these next films, all of which are franchises that have banked big bucks in summers past, and are making waves once again with new splashes in the box office. Weather your familiar with all the titles in each franchise or your new to some of the films, all of these titles are sure to have ads all over the place in months.

Fast Five

Now I KNOW what most people are thinking when they see this, that the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise should have stopped trying years ago. Or that if it weren’t for the 4th and most recent installment in the series, no one would care about the rag-tag team of street racing criminals. Which is all probably true, but since seeing the trailer for the newest movie in the line up, I’ve noticed that when the focus is on a heist and not on CG cars doing impossible stunts, the movies appeal increases 10 fold. I was also disappointed when I heard The Rock was a part of the film, but actually seeing him in action quelled my fears. Check the method below.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

This fourth installment of the Pirates franchise boasts a new crew villain, (who just reminds me of Shamus from family guy), a love interest for Jack Sparrow, and a new quest without the old weight of some of the main characters of the old movies.  From what I’ve heard, the writing on this movie frees the story up to go to new places, and in new directions by “forgetting” some of the past, and simply focusing on this new adventure.  I’m anxious to see how high this movie rates on the box office lists come summer.  Bring rum.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Although the title kinda reminds me of a twilight spin off, I’m still very curious to see what this movie makes of the franchise.  After hearing Michael Bay give himself some harsh constructive criticism in an interview about “Revenge of the Fallen” (the sequel) I’m a bit more confident that he can handle this movie and have it be more successful than the second, and maybe even the original Transformers movie.  There are tons of rumors in circulation about why Megan Fox got cut from the movie, but I do think if it’s explained the correct way, and people can move past it, the new love interest will end up helping the movie instead of hurting it (as some people have speculated).  But in true Michael Bay fashion, he’s trying to keep it a secret so there is no synopsis for the movie, never the less, also in true Michael Bay fashion, we all know there will be about 20 million dollars worth of explosions. DJ Storm Presents: Jadakiss, Ludacris, & Eminem ft. Asher Roth, Queen, & The Cool Kids – Ridaz

Many people in the Tri-State area are familiar with the collection I released in 09′ titled “The Mix Up”.  It was basically an attempt to merge old-school/underground beats with mainstream lyrics.  Mashing up artists that have never worked together, and changing the context of verses to create new meanings was my main challenge throughout the entire process.  One of my close friends recently heard the track “Ridaz” and has since threatened not to leave my condo until I put it on my blog.  lol.  So here for the (re)consideration of the fans is the song.  You can click here to hear the entire “Mix Up” collection, but click the picture above to download “Ridaz”.  And don’t forget, ‘Being a gangsta is like riding a bike, because once you learn, you never forget.

My Chick Bad Remix Video.

Watch the "My Chick Bad (Remix)" video here.

I’m quite sure that everyone has heard the second single off the most recent Ludacris album “Battle of the Sexes” entitled ‘My Chick Bad’.  I’m almost just as certain the same number of people have heard the remix featuring Diamond, Trina, and Eve.  But what I believe most may not have seen is the music video for the wildly popular remix to ‘My Chick Bad’.  So click the pic to check it out.

All I Do Is Win…

Nappy Boy online recently released a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the video for new the DJ Khaled track featuring T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, and Rick Ross.  “All I Do Is Win” is the first single off Khaled’s recently released “Victory” album.
