Take A Look At The Neon Demon.

There are few trailers that have the visually stunning appeal to get me personally interested in something I have no general interest in, and as I may not deep into the world of high fashion, ‘The Neon Demon’ kept my attention the entire way through.  This well lit, beautiful shot filled trailer hopefully pails in comparison to Nicolas Winding Refn’s full film, but check out the trailer and the official synopsis below.

When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will use any means necessary to get what she has in The Neon Demon, the new horror thriller from Nicolas Winding Refn. The Neon Demon stars Elle Fanning (Maleficent, Super 8), Jena Malone (Inherent Vice, The Hunger Games series), Bella Heathcote (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Dark Shadows), Abbey Lee (Gods of Egypt, Max Max: Fury Road), Karl Glusman (Love, Stonewall), Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix series), Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” Drive), Desmond Harrington (“Dexter,” The Dark Knight Rises), Alessandro Nivola (A Most Violent Year, American Hustle), and Charles Baker (“Breaking Bad,” Wild).

Sucker Punch: Trailer.

Click the pic to watch the trailer.

For the last few weeks I’ve been seeing posters all over the place with a black background, and the words “Sucker Punch” in nicely edited type all over downtown SF, and I knew it was a poster for a movie, but I haddn’t the foggiest clue as to what the movie was about. When I peeped the trailer yesterday however, I was shocked to see how dope this ridiculous girl-power epic looked on screen. If I had to put up my own description, I’d simply say “Sucker Punch” reminds me visually of every sick action movie ever made + Quentin Tarantino + The live action Power Puff Girls. But check the synopsis below, and click the pic to watch the trailer.

Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared. “Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary. She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls–the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish)–to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm). Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey–if they succeed–will set them free.
